Selective molecular recognition in water is routine for bioreceptors,but remains challenging for synthetic *** is principally because noncovalent interactions are usually less efficient in aqueous *** mimicking the cavity feature of bioreceptors,*** Jiang proposed and clarified the concept of“endo-functionalized cavity”.Through situating polar binding sites into a deep hydrophobic cavity,we designed and synthesized several macrocyclic hosts,among which amide naphthotubes are the most *** hosts can selectively recognize various polar molecules including organic micropollutants,drug molecules,and chiral molecules in water by employing the hydrophobic effect and shielded hydrogen *** addition,these biomimetic hosts have been applied in spectroscopic analysis,adsorptive separation and *** this review,we provide an overview of recent advances on amide naphthotubes with special emphasis on the efforts of Jiang's *** are convinced that these biomimetic macrocycles will make further contributions to supramolecular chemistry and beyond.

Root nodule symbiosis(RNs)between legumes and rhizobia is a major source of nitrogen in agricultural *** symbiosis requires precise regulation of plant defense *** role of the defense hormone jasmonic acid(JA)in the immune response has been extensively *** research shows that JA can play either a positive or negative regulatory role in RNS depending on its concentration,but the molecular mechanisms remain to be *** this study,we found that inoculation with the rhizobia Sm1021 induces the JA pathway in Medicago truncatula,and blocking the JA pathway significantly reduces the number of infection *** in the MtMYc2 gene,which encodes a JA signaling master transcription factor,significantly inhibited rhizobia infection,terminal differentiation,and symbiotic cell *** RNA sequencing and chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing,we discovered that MtMYc2 regulates the expression of nodule-specific MtDNF2,MtNAD1,and MtSymCRK to suppress host defense,while it activates MtDNF1 expression to regulate the maturation of MtNCRs,which in turn promotes bacteroid *** importantly,MtMYC2 participates in symbiotic signal transduction by promoting the expression of ***,the MtMYC2-MtiPD3 transcriptional regulatory module is specifically present in legumes,and the Mtmyc2 mutants are susceptible to the infection by the pathogen Rhizoctonia ***,these findings reveal the molecular mechanisms of how the JA pathway regulates RNS,broadening our understanding of the roles of JA in plant-microbe interactions.

BACKGROUND Esophageal cysts are relatively rare in clinical practice,with most of the literature comprising case *** cysts protruding into the thyroid gland are easily misdiagnosed as thyroid *** such cases have been reported so *** SUMMARY This article reports the case of a 31-year-old adult male diagnosed with thyroid nodules before *** patient underwent left thyroidectomy and *** the surgery,esophageal cysts were identified in the esophageal muscle and thyroid *** pathology results confirmed a nodular goiter combined with esophageal ***,the patient developed a neck infection and underwent another operation and broad-spectrum antibiotic treatment for *** We report the first clinical case of an esophageal cyst located within the thyroid gland that was successfully treated *** cyst located within the thyroid gland cause difficulties in *** the present study,the contents of the esophageal cysts were calcified foci,and a small amount of fluid mixture,which were easily misdiagnosed as thyroid nodules and misled the surgical methods.

Microglia are resident macrophage cells in the central nervous system that search for pathogens or abnormal neural activities and migrate to resolve the *** effective search and targeted motion of macrophages mean dearly to maintaining a healthy brain,yet little is known about their migration *** this work,we study microglial motion with and without the presence of external *** discover that the cells are promptly attracted by the applied forces(i.e.,mechanotaxis),which is a tactic behavior as yet unconfirmed in ***,in both the explorative and the targeted migration,microglia display dynamics that is strikingly analogous to bacterial run-and-tumble motion.A closer examination reveals that microglial run-and-tumble is more sophisticated,e.g.,they display a short-term memory when tumbling and rely on active steering during runs to achieve mechanotaxis,probably via the responses of mechanosensitive ion *** differences reflect the sharp contrast between microglia and bacteria cells(eukaryotes ***)and their environments(compact tissue ***).Further analyses suggest that the reported migration dynamics has an optimal search efficiency and is shared among a subset of immune cells(human monocyte and macrophage).This work reveals a fruitful analogy between the locomotion of 2 remote systems and provides a framework for studying immune cells exploring complex environments.

The emerging virtual coupling technology aims to operate multiple train units in a Virtually Coupled Train Set (VCTS) at a minimal but safe distance. To guarantee collision avoidance, the safety distance should be calculated using the state-of-the-art space-time separation principle that separates the Emergency Braking (EB) trajectories of two successive units during the whole EB process. In this case, the minimal safety distance is usually numerically calculated without an analytic formulation. Thus, the constrained VCTS control problem is hard to address with space-time separation, which is still a gap in the existing literature. To solve this problem, we propose a Distributed Economic Model Predictive Control (DEMPC) approach with computation efficiency and theoretical guarantee. Specifically, to alleviate the computation burden, we transform implicit safety constraints into explicitly linear ones, such that the optimal control problem in DEMPC is a quadratic programming problem that can be solved efficiently. For theoretical analysis, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the recursive feasibility and stability of DEMPC, employing compatibility constraints, tube techniques and terminal ingredient tuning. Moreover, we extend our approach with globally optimal and distributed online EB configuration methods to shorten the minimal distance among VCTS. Finally, experimental results demonstrate the performance and advantages of the proposed approaches. © 2024 Beijing Jiaotong University
