We have developed an analytic continuation method for extracting parameters of nucleon resonances within a hamiltonian formulation of meson-nucleon reactions. The method was tested for simple solvable models and then applied for our recent coupled channels model （πN, ηN, π△, ρN, and σN ） of the π＊N and γ＊N reactions. The resonance pole positions and their properties are studied for P11and P11 channels.

A model considering quantitative effects of diffused carbon and nitrogen gradients and kinetics of phase transformation is presented to examine metallo-thermo-mechanical behavior during carburized and nitrided quenching. Coupled simulation of diffusion, phase transformation and stress/strain provides the final distribution of carbon and nitrogen contents as well as residual stress and distortion. Effects of both transformation and lattice expansion induced by carbon and nitrogen absorption were introduced into calculating the evolution of the internal stress and strain. In order to verify the method and the results, the simulated distributions of carbon and nitrogen content and residual stress/strain of a ring model during carburized and nitrided quenching were compared with the measured data.

A sintering technology for preparing porous materials from sea bottom sediments was developed for use in water purification. The purpose of the present study was to develop methods for converting the sea bottom sediments dredged from Ago Bay into value-added recycled products. The sintered products fabricated at 400℃ were found to be very effective adsorbents for the removal of heavy metals.

Nano-pore carbon aerogels were prepared by the sol-gel polymerization of resorcinol (1,3-dihydroxybenzene)(C6h4(Oh)2) with formaldehyde (hChO) in a slightly basic aqueous solution, followed by super-critical drying under liquid carbon dioxide as super-critical media and carbonization at 700 ℃ under N2 gas atmosphere. The key of the work is to fabricate carbon aerogels with controllable nano-pore structure, which means extremely high surface area and sharp pore size distribution. Aiming to investigate the effects of preparation conditions on the gelation process, the bulk density, and the physical and chemical structure of the resultant carbon aerogels, the molar ratio of R/C (resorcinol to catalyst) and the amount of distilled water were varied, consequently two different sets of samples, with series of R/C ratio and RF/W (Resorcinol-Formaldehyde to water, or the content of reactant) ratio, were prepared. The result of N2 adsorption/desorption experiment at 77 K shows that the pore sizes decreasing from 11.4 down to 2.2 nm with the increasing of the molar ratio of R/C from 100 to 400, and/or, the pore sizes decreasing from 3.8 down to 1.6 nm with the increasing of reactant content from 0.4 to 0.6.

In the present work,bimetallic silver/zinc was applied into the degradation of trihalomethanes,ThMs:ChCl_(3),ChBrCl_(2),ChBr_(2)Cl,and ChBr_(3).The kinetics reaction rates and removal efficiencies of the ThM compound mixtures,in the aqueous solutions,were *** experiments were conducted under mild conditions,ambient temperature,and *** primary degradation reaction followed a pseudo-first-order kinetic *** first-order rate constants and the degradation efficiencies followed the decreasing order of ChBr_(3)>ChBr_(2)Cl>ChBrCl_(2)>ChCl_(3).The bond dissociation energy and hydrophilic/hydrophobic characteristics of the ThM compounds may become the most important parameters affecting the degradation kinetics and efficiency by bimetallic Ag/Zn.

AIM: To clarify the relationship between autophagy and lipotoxicity-induced apoptosis, which is termed "lipoapoptosis," in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. METhODS: Male C57BL/6J mice were fed a high-fat diet(hFD) for 12 wk, after which the liver histology and expression of proteins such as p62 or LC3 were evaluated. Alpha mouse liver 12(AML12) cells treated with palmitate(PA) were used as an in vitro model. RESULTS: LC3-Ⅱ, p62, and Run domain Beclin-1 interacting and cysteine-rich containing(Rubicon) proteins increased in both the hFD mice and in AML12 cells in response to PA treatment. Rubicon expression was decreased upon c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK) inhibition at both the m RNA and the protein level in AML12 cells. Rubicon knockdown in AML12 cells with PA decreased the protein levels of both LC3-Ⅱ and p62. Rubicon expression peaked at 4 h of PA treatment in AML12, and then decreased. Treatment with caspase-9 inhibitor ameliorated the decrease in Rubicon protein expression at 10 h of PA and resulted in enlarged AML12 cells under PA treatment. The enlargement of AML12 cells by PA with caspase-9 inhibition was canceled by Rubicon ***: The JNK-Rubicon axis enhanced lipoapoptosis, and caspase-9 inhibition and Rubicon had effects that were cytologically similar to hepatocyte ballooning. As ballooned hepatocytes secrete fibrogenic signals and thus might promote fibrosis in the liver, the inhibition of hepatocyte ballooning might provide antifibrosis in the NASh liver.

The scope and aim of this work is to describe the two-body interaction mediated by a particle （either the scalar or the gauge boson） within the light-front formulation. To do this, first of all we point out the importance of propagators and green functions in Quantum Mechanics. Then we project the covariant quantum propagator onto the light front time to get the propagator for scalar particles in these coordinates. This operator propagates the wave function from x＋ = 0 to x＋〉 0. It corresponds to the definition of the time ordering operation in the light front time x＋. We calculate the light-front green＇s function for 2 interacting bosons propagating forward in x＋. We also show how to write down the light front green＇s function from the Feynman propagator and finally make a generalization to N bosons.

This paper proposes an h-infinity combustion control method for diesel engines. The plant model is the discrete dynamics model developed by Yasuda et al., which is implementable on a real engine control unit. We introduce a two-degree-of-freedom control scheme with a feedback controller and a feedforward controller. This scheme achieves both good feedback properties, such as disturbance suppression and robust stability, and a good transient response. The feedforward controller is designed by taking the inverse of the static plant model, and the feedback controller is designed by the h-infinity control method, which reduces the effect of the trubocharger lag. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated in simulations using the nonlinear discrete dynamics model.
