Th. assessment of h.droch.mical quality of groundwater is very important to explore its nature and usefulness. In th.s paper, groundwater quality evaluation is carried out in th. Balad district, Salah.Al-Din Governorate, Iraq. A total of 28 groundwater samples are collected from sh.llow tube wells and analyzed for various ph.sicoch.mical parameters. Groundwater suitability for drinking is evaluated based on th. World h.alth.Organization(Wh.) and Iraqi standards, and suitability of groundwater for irrigation is assessed based on various h.droch.mical parameters. Th. results reveal th.t th. dominant types of groundwater based on piper diagram are mixed CaMgCl and CaCl. Gibbs ratio indicates th.t th. groundwater in th. studied area is affected by th. evaporation process. Th. cation-anion exch.nge reaction in th. studied area demonstrates th.t 54% of th. groundwater samples indicate a direct base(cation-anion) exch.nge reaction, wh.le 46% of th. groundwater samples indicating th. ch.oro-alkaline disequilibrium. Furth.rmore, generally all of th. groundwater samples are unsuitable for drinking and irrigation. Cluster analysis reveals two different groups of similarities between th. groundwater samples, reflecting different pollution levels in th. studied area.

Cassie-Baxter th.ory and th. lotus leaf *** a result of th. increased density of rGO/TiO_(2)/PDMS/MS,it recorded an initial capacity th.t was 2 g/g lower th.n th. raw MS for crude oil *** raw MS retained 53% of its initial absorption capacity after 20 cycles of absorption,wh.le rGO/TiO_(2)/PDMS/MS retained 97%,suggesting good *** oil and organic solvent recovery(90%-96%)was demonstrated by rGO/TiO_(2)/PDMS/MS in oil-water *** a continuous separation system,it ach.eved a remarkable separation efficiency of 2.4×10^(6)L/(m^(3)·h.,and in turbulent emulsion separation,it ach.eved a demulsification efficiency of 90%-91%.Th.s study provides a practical substitute for massive oil spill cleaning.

Vertical electrical sounding（VES） was carried out in north.rn part of Paiko, North.Central Nigeria, using Abem terrameter model SAS 4000 to determine th. subsurface layer parameters（resistivities, depth. and th.ckness） employed in delineating th. groundwater potential of th. area. A total of six transverses with.ten VES stations along each.traverse, at intervals of 50 m were investigated. It h.s a maximum current electrode separation（AB/2） of 100 m. Th.ee to four distinct geoelectric layers were observed, namely, th. top layer, th. weath.red layer, th. fractured/fresh.layer, and th. fresh.basement layer. Th. observed frequencies in curve types include 21% of h. 4.2% of h., 2.4% of K, 4.2% of A, 1.67% of Kh.and 3% of h.. Eigh. VES stations were delineated as ground water potentials of th. area, with.th.rd and fourth.layer resistivities ranging from 191 to 398 ？·m. Depth. range from 13.60 to 36.60 m and th.ckness varies from 9.23 to 30.51 m. A correlation of th. boreh.le log with.th. VES lith.logy is in agreement. Viable boreh.les for good portable water sh.uld be sited at VES stations J8 and J10 h.ving a fine aquifer at a depth.of 36.60 and 17.80 m respectively with.th.ckness of 30.51 and 15.07 m, respectively.

Yellow maize contains h.gh.levels of β-carotene(βC), making it an important crop for combating vitamin A deficiency th.ough.biofortification. In th.s study, nine maize inbred lines were selected at random from 31 provitamin A(PVA) maize inbred lines and crossed in a partial diallel mating design to develop 36 crosses. Th. crosses were evaluated in th. field in two locations(Samaru and Kerawa) and th.ir seed carotenoid content were determined by h.gh.performance liquid ch.omatograph.. Th. modes of gene action, h.ritability, and correlations between agronomic traits and carotenoid content were estimated. Additive genetic variances(σ~2a) were lower th.n non-additive genetic variances(σ~2d) for all th. carotenoids, plant h.igh.(Ph., and grain yield(GY), suggesting a preponderance of non-additive gene action. Broad-sense h.ritability(h.2) was h.gh.h.2> 60%) for zeaxanth.n,days to anth.sis, and Ph. moderate(30% h.2h.2h. carotene, beta cryptoxanth.n, βC, and PVA. Genetic advance as a percentage of mean, considered with.h.2, also suggests a preponderance of non-additive gene action for PVA carotenoids. h.brid variety development is th.s an appropriate approach.to improving grain yield and PVA. GY sh.wed no significant genotypic correlations with.carotenoid content, suggesting th.t th.se traits can be improved concurrently. Th.s, th.re is ample scope for improvement of PVA and GY in th. sample of tropical-adapted maize.

铝土矿是一种广泛使用的富含Al-O的矿物,成本低廉,在处理高氟废水方面具有巨大潜力。然而,目前的铝土矿衍生吸附剂仍存在除氟能力低、适用p h.围窄、除氟机理不明确等问题。低表面亲和力,以及表面官能团不足,尤其是表面·Oh.由基不足是导致铝土矿吸附剂吸附性能差的关键因素,使其无法应用于工业废水除氟。在本研究中,通过在预处理的Bx-h.l上进行两阶段原位La/Ce共掺杂和热解,合成了一种高效的多晶铝土矿纳米复合材料(Bx-Ce-La@500),并将其应用于处理含氟工业废水。进行了多阶段批量规模和固定床柱吸附实验,以研究Bx-Ce-La@500的动态吸附性能。此外,通过结构表征和密度泛函理论(DFT)计算,阐明了共掺杂La/Ce对所制备的预处理Bx-h.l的协同作用以及热解提高Bx-Ce-La@500吸附性能的机制。研究思路如下:(1)采用四水合硫酸铈和六水合硝酸镧预处理Bx-h.l,制备得到了La/Ce共掺杂的铝土矿材料。此外,通过调整La/Ce摩尔比来优化性能,并制备了一系列具有不同La/Ce掺杂量的Bx-Ce-La复合材料。最后,材料的zeta电位提高了,p h.1时为26.3 m V,p h.0时为23.1 m V,从而提高了其吸附性能。(2)此外,对材料进行了进一步处理,通过在400-600℃下进行BxCe-La热处理来促进表面·Oh.由基的形成,发现在处理温度为500℃时所合成的Bx-Ce-La@500复合材料具有最高的氟化物吸附能力。Bx-Ce-La@500具有不规则形貌,平均粒径为18 nm,而原始铝土矿则具有无定形晶型和较大的粒径。采用多级分批和固定床柱吸附,在相同条件下,Bx-Ce-La@500的氟吸附量可达到88.13 mg/g,是盐酸处理铝土矿Bx-h.l的6倍。在固定床柱中Bx-Ce-La@500的氟吸附量为27.99 mg/g。(3)基于相关结构表征和DFT理论计算,分析了热解后Bx-CeLa@500中的相变以及各种晶相的键/结合能。此外,分子水平的研究揭示了氟吸附性能强化的机制。图37幅,表12个,参考文献154篇

Sabouraud Dextrose Agar medium accompanied with.0.05%ch.oramph.nicol was conducted to assess and isolate *** examination using th. World h.alth.Organization guidelines was conducted to examine participants’oral h.a-lth.status.A pre-designed questionnaire was also used to evaluate sociodemo-graph.c,medical h.story,and oral h.giene h.bits of th. studied *** Out of 148 participants(n=57,38%)h.d colonized *** of th. studied population h.d visible Candida ***,Candida was found in th. oral rinses with.ut th. subject presenting any lesions or issues caused by Candida(asymptomatic colonization).Th. most common prevalent OC among participants were Candida albicans,Candida glabrata,Candida dubliniensis,Candida krusei,Candida tropicalis,and Candida parapsilosis(n=35,61%;n=8,14%;n=6,10%;n=5,9%;n=2,4%;and n=1,2%)***,smoking,poor plaque,and gingival status were key potential risk factors th.t significantly associated with.candida’s density and presence(P=0.001,P=0.001,P=0.01,and P=0.01)*** status h.d no statistically significant effect on presence and density of *** Th. prevalence of OC is almost th.rd of th. studied population;th.s,may provoke a need to develop preventive strategies to reduce th. Th.s study was conducted to evaluate th. water application uniformity for a drip irrigation system, considering th. water quality and th. duration of usage. Th. uniformity parameters, Emission Uniformity (EU %) and Uniformity Coefficient (UC %) were determined for th. drip irrigation system installed over a year of performance. The procedures are based on taking measurements of emitter discharge along selected driplines on a sub-main. The catch can be identified as L1A, L1B, L1C, L1D, same for L2A to L2D, L3A to L3D and L4A to L4D. This gave a total of sixteen (16) measurement positions as there were 4 driplines. Results indicated that the uniformity of water application was 90% indicating that the emitter was still good after a year of installation. The average discharge rate was 0.57 l/h. Th. uniformity coefficient (UC %) for th. gravity-fed drip irrigation system was 78%, indicating good water application and was quite significant for th. evaluation of th. uniform distribution of water for th. design. Th. expansion of th.s irrigation meth.d in rural communities could contribute to relevant water savings in most areas of th. Upper West Region of Gh.na.

Savanna regions of Nigeria are deficient in nitrogen and ph.sph.rus, wh.ch.retard th. growth.and yield of crops. Th.refore, a study was conducted in th. wet season of 2006 at th. Dry Land Teach.ng and Research.Farm of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto to evaluate th. effect of ph.sph.rus on th. growth.and yield of two cowpea varieties sourced from Republic of Niger. Treatment consisted of four (4) rates of ph.sph.rus (0, 20, 40, 60 ***–1) factorialy combined with.(2) varieties of cowpea (kvx303096G and TN5-78) and laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) replicated th.ee (3) times. Results sh.wed significant response to applied P on pods per plant, grain and stover yield and 100-seed weigh. with.h.gh.st response to th. application of 60 ***–1. From th.s study it can be concluded th.t KVX303096G and TN5-78 could both.be sown under Sokoto condition to obtain reasonable yield of about 1 ***–1 of grain and 1.6 ***–1 of stover. Irrespective of th. varieties, application of 60 kg P2O5 h.–1 could be recommended for h.gh.r yield of cowpea (1.4 ***–1) relative to 0 ***–1 th.t yielded 1.0 ***–1.
