Groynes a.e one of th. most prominent structures th.t a.e used in sh.re protection a.d littora. sediment. Th. ma.n h.dra.lic function of th. groyne is to control th. long sh.re current a.d littora. sediment tra.sport. Th.s structure ca. be submerged a.d provide th. necessa.y bea.h.protection with.ut nega.ive a.sth.tic impa.t. h.wever, for submerged structures a.opted for bea.h.protection, th. sh.reline response to th.se structures is not well understood. Th. objective of th.s study is to predict sediment tra.sport in th. vicinity of submerged groyne a.d compa.ison with.non-submerged groyne focusing on a.pa.t of th. coa.t a. Da.0}ne Sa. Sefidrood, Guila. Province, ira., wh.re serious coa.t erosion h.s been occurred. Th. simula.ions were designed using a.one-line model wh.ch.ca. be used a. a.first a.proxima.ion of sh.reline prediction in th. vicinity of groyne. Th. results of th. proposed model a.e compa.ed with.experimenta. da.a.to determine th. sh.pe of th. coa.t. Th. results of predicted bea.h.deforma.ion sh.w th.t wh.n submerged groyne construct in th. bea.h. sediment a.cumula.ion will be sligh.ly less th.n th. non-submerged groyne; beca.se tra.sfer coefficient for th. submerged groyne is more th.n non-submerged groyne. Th.s result will ca.se more sediment pa.sing on submerged groyne. Fina.ly, th. result of th. present study sh.w th.t using submerged groyne is a. efficient wa. to control th. sediment a.d bea.h.erosion with.ut ca.sing severe environmenta. effect on th. coa.t.

Th. va.ues of N ss a.d R s were determined by using a.conducta.ce meth.d a.d estima.ing from th. a.mitta.ce mea.urements of th. mOS ca.a.itors. a. low frequencies, th. interfa.e sta.es ca. follow th. a. signa. a.d yield excess ca.a.ita.ce a.d conducta.ce. in a.dition, th. pa.a.lel conducta.ce （G p /ω） versus log（f） curves a. va.ious volta.es include a.pea. due to th. presence of interfa.e sta.es. it is observed th.t th. Th. solid concentra.ion by volume covered wa. 5% a.d 15%, a.d th. corresponding density of 5% wa. 1078 kg/m^3 a.d of 15% wa. 1238 kg/m^3. Th. flow velocity wa. between 1.5 m/s a.d 3.0 m/s. a.tota. of 6 experimenta. tests were conducted. Th.s resea.ch.is a.med a. investiga.ing th. microstructure a.d h.rdness of commercia. a.63 a.loy specimens subjected to two different th.rmomech.nica. trea.ments （TmTs）. For th. first TmT, a.ter solution trea.ed a. th. tempera.ure of 380 ℃ for 20 h. a.63 a.loy specimens were 5% cold worked by rolling process followed by a.eing a. th. tempera.ures of 150 ℃a.d 250 ℃ for 3, 9 a.d 25 h. in th. second TmT, th. specimens were solution trea.ed a. th. tempera.ure of 380 ℃ for 20 h. underwent 2% cold worked a.d quench.d in wa.er of 0 ℃. h.lf of th. specimens were th.n 2% cold worked wh.lst th. rest were rolled to 8% cold worked. a.l th. specimens were th.n a.ed a. th. tempera.ures of 150 ℃ a.d 250 ℃ for 3, 9 a.d 25 h. Optica. microscope wa. used to a.a.yze th. microstructures of th. specimens. h.rdness test wa. too conducted to mea.ure th. effect of th. trea.ments on th. specimens.
