Th. ferri.es of Cuo-ZnO-Fe2o3 soli. soluti.n seri.s near th. molar rati. of ZnxCu1-x were prepared by di.ect h.ati.g of th.i. copreci.i.ated h.droxi.es usi.g Nh.Oh.as preci.i.ati.g agent wh.re x=0.0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8 and 1.0. Addi.i.nal amounts of Cu and Zn sulph.tes were added to compensate th. loss duri.g th. copreci.i.ati.n of th. h.droxi.es. Th. ferri.i.ed samples were ch.racteri.ed by ch.mi.al analysi., XRD. DTA, TGA and SEm. XRD of both.Zn0.2Cu0.8Fe2O4 and Zn0.5Cu0.5 Fe2O4 th.t i.di.ates th. formati.n of a h.terogeneous ferri.e materi.l of ZnFe2O4 and CuFe2O4 mi.ed wi.h.vari.ble amounts of α-Fe2O3. Zn and Cu ferri.es were observed only i. *** TGA-ti.e relati.n, th. acti.ati.n energy of th. di.ferent transformati.n ph.ses were calculated. i. i. found th.t, th. acti.ati.n energy of ZnFe2O4 i. sli.h.ly equal to 3/2 of th.t for CuFe2O4. Di.lectri. measurements sh.w th.t th. electri.al beh.vi.ur depends on th. orderi.g and di.orderi.g of th. ph.ses.

Th. equatori.l and polar satelli.es of th. Double Star Project (DSP) were launch.d successfully on December 29, 2003 and July 25, 2004, respecti.ely, and both.of th.m are operati.g smooth.y. Th. DSP provi.es a good opportuni.y for i.vesti.at-i.g th. structure of th. magnetosph.re. Based on th. DSP data collected duri.g 2004, we h.ve surveyed th. di.tri.uti.n of th. magneti. fi.lds and plasmas i. th. magnetosph.re. i. i. found th.t: (1) Near th. Earth.s equatori.l plane wi.h.n geo-centri. di.tances of less th.n 7 RE, th. Earth.s magneti. fi.ld i. di.olar. i. th. vi.ci.i.y of th. magnetopause, th. magneti. fi.ld i. enh.nced by a factor of about 1.5, and on th. ni.h.si.e, th. magneti. fi.ld can vary si.ni.i.antly from th. Earth.s di.pole fi.ld, li.ely caused by th. presence of th. near-Earth.tai. current sh.et. (2) i. th. day-si.e magnetosh.ath. th. electron and i.n densi.i.s are usually both.i. th. range of 10―30 cm?3; th. i.n and electron temperatures are usually about 200 and 50 eV, respecti.ely. Th. flow pattern i. usually smooth. wi.h.a low veloci.y i. th. subsolar regi.n and wi.h.si.ni.i.antly h.gh.r veloci.i.s i. th. dawn and dusk flanks. (3) i. th. regi.n between th. magnetopause and plasmasph.re th. densi.y i. low, approxi.ately 0.5―5 cm?3, and th. temperature i. h.gh. about 1―10 keV for i.ns and 0.1―5 keV for electrons. Th. i.n temperature h.s an apparent ani.otropy, wi.h.th. rati. of th. perpendi.ular and parallel temperatures bei.g about 1.0―1.3 for th. ni.h.- and dusk-si.e magnetosph.re and about 1.3―2.0 for th. day- and dawn-si.e magnetosph.re. Th.re i. an evi.ent sunward convecti.n of about 50 km/s i. th. magnetosph.re. On th. dawn si.e, th. flow becomes somewh.t turbulent, and i. th. vi.i.i.y of th. ni.h.-noon meri.i.n plane, th. convecti.n i. rath.r slow. Th. sli.i.g wear beh.vi.r of a grey cast i.on surface remelted by tungsten i.ert gas （Ti.） was studi.d and compared wi.h.th. unremelted one i. th. current work. To evaluate th. wear beh.vi.r a Pi.-on-Di.k wear test mach.ne was used. Pi.s wh.ch.were prepared from th. samples wi.h.th. remelted layers of di.ferent th.cknesses of 1.2, 1.8, 2.5 and 3 turn were worn on an Ai.i.3 steel counterface h.vi.g a h.rdness of 63h.C under th. appli.d loads of 54, 76 and gg N at a constant sli.i.g veloci.y of 0.45 m/s. Scanni.g electron mi.roscopy （SEm） equi.ped wi.h.energy di.persi.e X-ray analysi. （EDS） and X-ray di.fracti.n （XRD） tech.i.ues were used to ch.racteri.e worn surface and subsurface and also wear debri. obtai.ed from th. wear tests under di.ferent test condi.i.ns. Results sh.wed th.t surface remelted grey cast i.on h.ve better wear properti.s for all appli.d normal loads i. compari.on wi.h.unremelted ones. mi.roscopi. studi.s on th. worn surfaces and subsurfaces of samples revealed th.t domi.ant wear mech.ni.m for surface remelted samples was mi.d oxi.ati.e, wh.le i. was severe for unremelted samples. i.creasi.g remelted layer th.ckness and th.n formi.g grosser mi.rostructure lead to a decli.e of wear properti.s, wh.reas lower th.ckness of remelted layer wi.h.fi.er mi.rostructure due to h.vi.g h.gh.r cooli.g rate th.ough.remelti.g process can wi.h.tand better agai.st wear.

UV-Vi. absorpti.n spectroscopy analysi. was performed to evaluate th. electroni. molecular transi.i.n of th. complex. Th. opti.al band gap, Eg esti.ated from th. Tauc model revealed th.t EO3-Tb-Pi. th.n fi.m exh.bi.ed a di.ect transi.i.n wi.h.Eg of 2.70 eV. Th. electroni. parameters of th. i.O/EO3-Tb-Pi./Al devi.e such.as th. i.eali.y factor n, barri.r h.i.h. Φb, saturati.n current i., and seri.s resi.tance Rs, were extracted from th. conventi.nal lni.V, Ch.ung＇s functi.ns and Norde＇s meth.d. i. was found th.t th. evaluated parameters calculated from Norde＇s and Ch.ung＇s meth.ds were consi.tent wi.h.th.se calculated from th. conventi.nal i.V meth.d. i. th. double logari.h.i. i.V plot, th.ee di.ti.ct regi.ns based on th. slope were i.enti.i.d, and th. conducti.n mech.ni.ms were di.cussed and explai.ed. Fi.e perovski.e cerami.s samples of Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) wi.h.x=0.00,0.05,0.10,0.15,and 0.20 were synth.si.ed usi.g th. conventi.nal soli.-state reacti.n *** prepared samples were ch.racteri.ed by X-ray di.fracti.n(XRD),Fouri.r transforms i.frared(FTi.),and UV-Vi. *** sh.eldi.g properti.s agai.st i.ni.i.g radi.ti.n were also *** XRD analysi. sh.ws th. perovski.e cubi. structure as th. major ph.se i. all *** FTi. reveals a di.ti.cti.e band around 614-620 cm^(-1) ascri.ed to th. anti.ymmetri. O-Sn-O ***-Vi. spectroscopy was used to determi.e th. bandgap accordi.g to di.fuse reflectance,and th. results di.play a fi.ed enh.ncement i. th. bandgap from 3.2 to 3.3 eV for all ***-ray sh.eldi.g properti.s of th. synth.si.ed samples were experi.entally measured and compared wi.h.XCOm computati.nal *** relati.e di.ferences(Δ,%)between experi.ental and th.o reti.al values are low and fall wi.h.n th. 0.446%-7.10%*** addi.i.n of Er leads to th. enh.nced densi.y,neutron,and gamma sh.eldi.g *** contrast,ch.rged parti.les’sh.eldi.g parameters gradually reduce wi.h.ri.i.g Er *** results suggest th.t Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) samples can be used i. di.ferent radi.ti.n sh.eldi.g appli.ati.ns.
