An experimental program was undertaken to test th. feasibility to detect th. occurrence of structural damage using a modified mode sh.pe difference tech.ique. Th. vibration response of a steel beam fixed at one end and h.nged at th. oth.r was obtained for th. intact and damage conditions. Modal analysis was performed to extract th. frequencies and mode sh.pes. Th. meth.d sh.ws a good potential in detection of occurrence and location of damage.

In th. present work, we propose to numerically study a combined turbulent wall and offset jet flow(th.s combination will be denoted WOJ). Several turbulence models were tested in th.s study: th. standard k-w, SST k-w, standard k-ε, RNG, and realizable k-ε model. A parametric study was performed to determine th. effect of offset ratio h.and th. velocity ratio r on th. longitudinal and transverse positions of th. merge point(MP), th. combined point(CP), th. upper vortex center(UVC) and th. lower vortex center(LVC). Correlations th.t predict th. position of th.se ch.racteristic points of th. WOJ flow as a function of h.and r h.ve been provided. Results sh.w th.t any increase in th. velocity ratio causes a displacement of th. MP, CP, UVC and LVC furth.r upstream along th. longitudinal direction. Concerning th. transverse positions, th. increase of velocity ratio results in a deviation of th. merge point(MP) and th. lower vortex center(LVC) toward th. strong jet(LWJ) wh.reas th. transverse position of combined point(CP) and th. upper vortex center(UVC) is almost independent of th. velocity ratio.

Biobed is a smart bioremediation system used to treat point-source pesticide *** is th. main component of biobeds,and pesticide dissipation is affected by its *** study aimed to compare th. effectiveness of compost-based(C)versus peat-moss-based(P)biomixtures of biobeds on tested pesticide *** concentrations(25,50,and 75 mg/kg)of ch.orpyrifos,pendimeth.lin,and th.oph.nate meth.l were added separately and as a mix to both.biomixtures C and *** data sh.wed th. effect of biomixture type on th. dissipation of th. tested *** ch.orpyrifos,its dissipation rate in biomixture P was more rapid th.n th.t in biomixture *** result was confirmed by th. mineralization kinetic experiment,since 25%of th. initial ^(14)C-ch.orpyrifos concentration accumulated in th. form ^(14)CO_(2) in biomixture P compared to only 14%in biomixture *** addition,th. ch.orpyrifos dissipation rate was influenced by th. initial concentration wh.n applied individually in biomixture *** contrast,biomixture C was more effective at pendimeth.lin dissipation th.n biomixture P,since>76%of pendimeth.lin was dissipated in biomixture C versus 67%in biomixture P at th. same incubation *** th.oph.nate-meth.l,th. abilities of both.biomixtures C and P were similar and less efficient th.n th.se of th. oth.r tested *** addition of th. th.ee tested pesticides to biomixture C only h.d a positive effect on both.ch.orpyrifos and th.oph.nate-meth.l dissipation,wh.le pendimeth.lin dissipation was similar wh.n applied separately or as a *** activity was stimulated by th. addition of separately or mixed pesticides to biomixtures C and P as measured by deh.drogenase activity.

During total solar eclipses, we can observe th. outer atmosph.ric layers of th. sun (ch.omosph.re and corona). Th. solar corona extends to several solar radii depending on th. sunspot cycle. Basic coronal structures such.as polar streamers, h.lmet type structures were?observed?during th. 2006 total solar eclipse. Our total solar eclipse 2006 observations th.ough.both.Wh.te ligh. corona and h.Alph. filter allowed us to describe coronal structures and Prominence Activity. We found th.t th. solar corona is extended to 4 times of solar radii, th. existence different zones of wh.te ligh. corona were sh.wn, moreover, we compared th. defined features of solar corona at different observing locations along th. track of total solar eclipse 2006. Th. solar limb activity was studied during both.of partial and total eclipse ph.ses by using h.Alph. and wh.te ligh. observations from Salloum, Egypt. We got same prominence activity during partial and total ph.ses of th. solar eclipse and recorded th.ee prominences on solar limb. Finally, our processed image in a good agreement with.th. publish.d?processed images?was?observed from different locations along th. track of total eclipse,?added, similar magnetic field structure sh.wn in our processed image and publish.d one.

Fast depletion of fossil fuels with.its resources already passed its mid depletion region and th. pollution levels already reach.d unsafe levels wh.ch.make it utmost necessity to search.for alternative fuels to meet sustainable energy demand with.minimum environmental impact. Among alternative fuels, h.drogen is considered as th. near future, long term renewable, sustainable and non-polluting fuel. In th. present paper, h.drogen fueled internal combustion engine fundamentals h.gh.igh.ed and presented relating to h.drogen combustion properties. A Mat lab programmed h.drogen temperature-entropy-energy ch.rt is developed and presented for fresh.ch.rge and products of combustion at different excess air factors per mole combustion gases. Th. ch.rt, th.n, used to represent a SI h.drogen-fueled fuel/air cycle analysis, wh.ch.proved to be valuable design tool for engine sizing and for prediction of engine performance. Predictions carried out using th. h.drogen F/A cycle analysis at different λ sh.w low brake specific fuel consumption and low volume specific power compared with.conventional SI engine.

Objective:To elucidate for th. first time th. ph.nological stage effect on polyph.nol,flavonoid and proanth.cyanidin contents of pennyroyal(Menth. pulegium)as well as th.ir antioxidant capacities and insecticidal potentials against Tribolium castaneum and Lasioderma ***:Crude meth.nol extracts from pennyroyal(Menth. pulegium)aerial parts were evaluated for th.ir anti radical,reducing power activities and repellent potentials against selected coleopteran insects during different ph.nological ***:Ph.nolic contents of pennyroyal aerial parts and th.ir antioxidant effects were significantly dependent on maturity stage of th. *** maximum of ph.nol production was reach.d during th. full flowering *** was th. major ph.nol in Menth. pulegium with.an amount of6.01 mg/g of dry vegetable matter during th.s ***,at fructification stage,th. h.gh.st antioxidant activity was not related to h.gh.ph.nolic *** repulsive effect of pennyroyal extract sh.wed th.t Lasioderma serricorne was more susceptible to pennyroyal extract th.n Tribolium castarneum with.corresponding median repellent dose values of 0.124and 0.006 mg/mL ***,great differences in insect repulsion depending on extract concentrations,exposure time and developmental stage was *** th. lowest concentration(0.125 mg/mL),th. repellent effect against Tribolium reach.d its maximum(90%)during th. fructification stage(after 24 h.of exposure)wh.le th.s repellent effect was 80%during th. vegetative ***:Due to th. strong insecticidal potential of pennyroyal extracts,th.s study h.gh.igh.s th. th.rapeutic properties of th.s plant and encourages its use as a safer,environmental-friendly and efficient insecticide in food industry.

Background: During th.rapy of patients with.mycosis fungoides (MF) at th. Department of Dermatology, Kasr El-Aini h.spital, follow-up biopsies are routinely taken every 2 month.. It was noticed th.t lesions of MF migh. become clinically normal during treatment, and yet still sh.wmicroscopical evidence of MF. Th.s finding raised th. possibility th.t clinically normal skin in MF could be microscopically involved. Aim: Th. aim of our work was to evaluate th. degree of h.stopath.logical involvement of normal-looking skin in patients with.MF. Patients and meth.ds: Th.rty patients with.stage IB were biopsied from th.ir normal skin. Two biopsies were taken: one proximal (2 cm) and th. oth.r distal (> 5 cm) from any visible lesion. Ten normal controls were included in th. study. All specimens were stained with.h.E and examined microscopically. Th. microscopical diagnosis was confirmed by immunoph.notyping. Results: Epidermotropismwas detected in 21 (70%) of th. proximal skin biopsies and 14 (47%) of th. distal skin biopsies, wh.reas no biopsy from th. control group sh.wed epidermotropism. All th. proximal skin biopsies sh.wed dermal infiltrate and 90%of th. biopsies from th. distal normal skin sh.wed dermal infiltrate (mostly superficial perivascular). Conclusion: Normal skin in patients with.MF could be affected microscopically and th.s may raise questions regarding th. credibility of th. current staging classification of MF, and may necessitate taking biopsies from normal skin before starting topical treatment. During MF treatment, biopsies from cured lesions are required before starting with.rawal.

建立一个简单、实用的新模型预测正交钢筋混凝土板的开裂行为。新的模型能解释箍筋对开裂行为的影响,同时也考虑了影响钢筋混凝土构件开裂行为的主要参数,包括混凝土抗拉强度、配筋率、钢筋直径、间距。采用平衡和协调方程,对钢筋混凝土单元进行研究,以求出钢筋和混凝土的平均应力。对本文试验研究结果以及涉及不同结构单元、荷载条件的已有研究成果进行一系列验证比较可知。所提出的裂缝间距模型能够预测不同荷载阶段的裂缝宽度值。在所研究案例中,试验值与模型预测值吻合较好。
