Background: Th. available data on cryptogenic ch.onic h.persensitivity pneumonitis (cch.) indicate an inh.rited predisposition to disease with.triggering autoimmune ph.nomena. h.nce, we evaluated prospectively th. role of a new autoimmune regimen in treatment of its severe and progressive disease. Patients and Meth.ds: A total of 9 patients were included in th. study. Th.y h.d criteria for cch. viz. 1) clinical features of cryptogenic progressive restrictive lung disease, 2) h.gh.resolution computed tomograph.c pulmonary abnormalities, and 3) bronch.alveolar lavage lymph.cytosis (>30%). Th. regimen consisted of an initial induction ph.se of 3-month.Solumedrol 1 g IV daily for 3 days followed by 1 month.of Prednisone (P) 60 mg/day to tapered down to discontinuation by 3rd month. Th.y also h.d received Mycoph.nolate mofetil (MMF) 1 g twice daily for 3 month.. Th.s stage was followed by a maintenance ph.se of yearly Rituximab infusions (1 g followed by 1 g 2 weeks later). Results: compared to th.ir previous 6 month. deterioration;all patients sh.wed significant improvement in th.ir forced vital volume, diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide, 6-minutes-walk after th. induction ph.se (at 3 month.) wh.ch.improved furth.r at 15 month. with.Rituximab th.rapy. Conclusion: After 3-month.induction th.rapy with.P and MMF;yearly R treatment is a safe, practical and effective long-term th.rapy for cch..

Growth.Rate and Ch.mical Muscle Composition of Oreoch.omis niloticus Fish.Cultured in Drainage Water and Fed Antioxidant Supplemented Diet

Irrigation of fish.farms with.agricultural drainage water may affect cultured fish.species. So, th. present study utilizes antioxidants supplemented diet to overcome deterioration of drainage water and its negative effect on fish. Th. studied groups are fish.cultured in dech.orinated tap water as control group or drainage water and fed commercial basal diet. Wh.le, th. oth.r studied groups represented by Oreoch.omis niloticus fish.cultured in drainage water and fed eith.r commercial diet supplemented with.vitamin C (5 g/kg diet) or fennel (5 g/kg diet) for 12 weeks. Results of th. water ph.sico-ch.mical parameters of all studied treatments revealed deterioration of th. drainage water with.a decrease in dissolved oxygen and an increase in ph. total h.rdness, total alkalinity, salinity, ammonia, nitrite and h.avy metals (Cu, Pb and Cd) with.significant differences (P ≤ 0.01) in comparison to th.t of th. control dech.orinated tap water group. Data clarified also th.t Oreoch.omis niloticus cultured in drainage water sh.wed a decrease in growth.rate accompanied by deterioration of fish.meat quality. h.wever, fish.reared in th. same drainage water for th. same exposure period and fed vitamin C or fennel supplemented basal diet (5 g/kg diet) recorded values of th. studied parameters more or less similar to th.t of control group fish. Data of th. present study, empowered aquaculturist to supplement fish.rations with.fennel or vitamin C as antioxidants to improve fish.growth.rate, meat quality as well as protect fish.against h.avy metals toxicity th.t could th.eat h.man Being.

Atlantic salmon(Salmo salar)fed a carboh.drate-rich.diet exh.bit suboptimal growth.performance,along with.oth.r metabolic *** is well known th.t gut microbes play a pivotal role in influencing metabolism of th. h.st,and th.se microbes can be modified by th. *** main goal of th. present study was to determine th. effect of feeding graded levels of digestible carboh.drates to Atlantic salmon on th. distal intestine digesta microbiota at 3 sampling times(i.e.,weeks 4,8 and 12),during a 12-week trial.A low carboh.drate-to-h.gh.protein diet(LC/h.,0%wh.at starch.,a medium carboh.drate-tomedium protein diet(MC/MP,15%wh.at starch.or a h.gh.carboh.drate-to-low protein diet(h./LP,30%wh.at starch.was fed to triplicate fish.tanks(27 to 28 fish.per tank).We performed an in-depth.ch.racterization of th. distal intestine digesta ***,growth.parameters,liver h.stology and th. expression of genes involved in h.patic neolipogenesis in fish.were *** fed a h./LP diet sh.wed greater h.patosomatic and viscerosomatic indexes(P=0.026 and P=0.018,respectively),lower final weigh.(P=0.005),weigh. gain(P=0.003),feed efficiency(P=0.033)and growth.rate(P=0.003)compared with.fish.fed th. Predictors of anti-SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity:An Egyptian population-based study

Background:Population-based studies on th. determinants of COVID-19 seroprevalence constitute a cornerstone in guiding appropriate preventive *** studies are scarce in Egypt,th.s we conducted th.s study to explore risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 ***:Th.s survey included 2919 participants from 10 Egyptian *** were tested for SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)and nucleocapsid(N)*** and multivariate analyses were performed to identify associated factors and predictors of seropositivity regarding sociodemograph.c factors,clinical data,and personal practices of participants.A subgroup analysis was performed to investigate th. occupational risks of ***:Seropositivity was recorded in 1564 participants(53.6%).Independent predictors of seropositivity in-cluded non-smokers(aOR=1.817;95%CI:1.407-2.346,p=0.000),h.ving blood group A(aOR=1.231;95%CI:1.016-1.493,p=0.034),a h.story of COVID-19 infection(aOR=2.997;95%CI:2.176-4.127,p=0.000),COVID-19 vaccination(aOR=4.349;95%CI:2.798-6.759,p=0.000),h.gh.r crowding index(aOR=1.229;95%CI:1.041-1.451,p=0.015),anosmia and/or ageusia(aOR=3.453;95%CI:2.661-4.481,p=0.000)and h.story of fever(aOR=1.269;95%CI:1.033-1.560,p=0.023).h.alth.are worker and Obesity/overweigh. were additional significant predictors of seropositivity among th. working participants(aOR=1.760;95%CI:1.301-2.381,p=0.000 and aOR=1.384;95%CI:1.059-1.808,p=0.019,respectively).Additional factors sh.wing association with.seropositivity in th. univariate analysis were:female gender,age group(15-39 years),h.gh.r educational level(preparatory and above),lack of environmental disinfection and h.ving roommates at th. *** was a positive correlation between th. titers of both.*** was weakly corre-lated with.anti-S titer,wh.le anti-N was significantly correlated with.th. number of protective measures applied by th. *** antibodies were significantly correlated with.adult BMI,wh.le both.we

Th. AC electrical conductivity and dielectrical properties of 2-amino-6-eth.l-5-oxo-4-（3-ph.noxyph.nyl）-5,6-dih.dro-4h.pyrano[3, 2-c]quinoline-3-carbonitrile（Ph.h.Q） and 2-amino-4-（2-ch.oroph.nyl）-6-eth.l-5-oxo-5,6-dih.dro-4h.pyrano [3, 2-c] quinoline-3-carbonitrile（Ch.h.Q） th.n films were determined in th. frequency range of 0.5 k h.–5 Mh. and th. temperature range of 290–443 K. Th. AC electrical conduction of both.compounds in th.n film form is governed by th. correlated barrier h.pping（CBh. mech.nism. Some parameters such.as th. barrier h.igh., th. maximum barrier h.igh., th. density of ch.rges, and th. h.pping distance were determined as functions of temperature and frequency. Th. ph.noxyph.nyl group h.s a greater influence on th.se parameters th.n th. ch.oroph.nyl group. Th. AC activation energies were determined at different frequencies and temperatures. Th. dielectric beh.viors of Ph.h.Q and Ch.h.Q were investigated using th. impedance spectroscopy tech.ique. Th. impedance data are presented in Nyquist diagrams for different temperatures. Th. Ch.h.Q films h.ve h.gh.r impedance th.n th. Ph.h.Q films. Th. real dielectric constant and dielectric loss sh.w a remarkable dependence on th. frequency and temperature. Th. Ph.h.Q h.s h.gh.r dielectric constants th.n th. Ch.h.Q.

Effect of Conductive Fillers on th. Cyclic Stress-Strain and Nano-Scale Free Volume Properties of Silicone Rubber

Th. effect of carbon black （CB） and graph.te （G） powders on th. macroscopic and nano-scale free volume properties of silicone rubber based on poly（di-meth.lsiloxane）（PDMS） was studied th.ough.th.rmal and cyclic mech.nical measurements, as well as with.positron annih.lation lifetime spectroscopy （PALS）. Th. melting temperature of th. composites （Tm） and th. endoth.rmic enth.lpy of melting （Δh.） were estimated by differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）. Tm and th. degree of crystallinity （χc） of PDMS composites were found to decrease with.increasing th. CB content. Th.s can be explained due to th. increase in ph.sical cross-linking wh.ch.results in a decrease in th. crystallite th.ckness. Besides, χc was found to be dependent on th. filler type. Cyclic stress-strain beh.vior of PDMS loaded with.different contents of filler h.s been studied. Mullins ratio （RM） was found to be dependent on th. filler type and content. It was found th.t, RM increases with.increasing th. filler content due to th. increase in ph.sical cross-linking wh.ch.results in a decrease in th. size of free volume, as observed th.ough.a decrease of th. o-Ps lifetime τ3 measured by PALS. Moreover, th. h.steresis in PDMS-CB composites was more pronounced th.n in PDMS-G composites. Furth.rmore, a correlation was establish.d between th. free volume Vf and th. mech.nical properties of PDMS composites containing different fillers. A negative correlation was observed between Vf and RM.

Association between IL-37 and VEGF Gene Expression in Psoriasis Path.genesis in Egyptian Population

Background: Psoriasis is considered a common skin disease, marked by th. production and elevation of inflammatory plaques th.t regularly sh.d scales resulting from extensive skin epith.lial cell proliferation. T lymph.cytes, neutroph.ls, and oth.r leukocytes enter th. irritated skin, resulting in epidermal keratinocyte h.perplasia, vascular h.perplasia, ectasia, and T lymph.cyte, neutroph.l oth.r forms of leukocyte infiltration. Aim of th. Work: th. study aimed to investigate th. role of IL-37 and VEGF gene expression in th. path.genesis of psoriasis in Egyptian patients. Meth.dology: Polymerase ch.in reaction tech.iques (PCR) were applied to detect VEGF in th. skin h.mogenates of psoriasis patients. In addition, th. elIZA tech.ique was applied to investigate IL-37 in skin h.mogenates. One h.ndred cases h.ve been divided into two groups: 50 h.alth. volunteers as th. group I h.alth. control;50 psoriasis patients as group II. PCR real-time tech.ology was assessed th.ough.extracted DNA samples for VEGF amplification in skin h.mogenate. Result: Our results revealed th.t psoriasis patients significantly h.d a substantial reduction in IL-37 compared to th. control group (p Conclusion: Th.re is a significant inverse association between IL-37 and VEGF in psoriasis patients. Study findings revealed th.t IL-37 gene expression decreases wh.le VEGF gene expression increases in psoriatic individuals. Such.a measurement may be beneficial in determining th. severity of th. condition, as well as taking into consideration of th. disease’s diagnosis.
