samples of 12 hard winter wheats and their flours that produced breads varying in crumb grain scores were studied for 38 quality parameters including: wheat physical and chemical characteristics; flour ash and protein contents,starch damage,swelling power,pasting characteristics,and flour particle size distribution; dough properties determined by a mixograph; and breadmaking properties for pup loaves (100g flour). Only two parameters,the protein content of wheat and the granulation of flour,showed significant correlations with bread crumb grain scores. Protein content of wheat ranging 12.9%～14.5% determined by an NIR method showed a weak inverse relationship (r =-0.61,ph bread crumb grain score. Flour particle size distribution measured by both Alpine Air Jet sieve and NIR methods revealed that the weight wt % of particles less than 38μm in size and representing 9.6%～19.3% of the flour weights was correlated positively (r =0 .78,ph crumb grain score,whereas wt % of flour particles larger than 125μm had an inverse relationship (r =-0.60,ph crumb grain score.

We consider an h∞ synchronization problem in nonlinear Bloch systems. Based on Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality formulation, a dynamic feedback controller is designed to guarantee asymptotic stability of the master-slave synchronization. Moreover, this controller reduces the effect of an external disturbance to the h∞ norm constraint. A numerical example is given to validate the proposed synchronization scheme.

This paper studies the problem of stability for Takagi-sugeno（T-s） fuzzy systems with time varying *** employing a new augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii function,using the second-order Bessel-Legendre inequality and combining with reciprocally convex approach,some less conservative delay-dependent stability criteria are derived within the framework of linear matrix inequalities（LMIs）.Two numerical examples are proposed to illustrate the effectiveness and the improvement of the proposed method.

There exists a great need for the development of high performance alloys due to increasing demands for energy conservation and environmental protection. Application of strip casting shows a strong potential for the improvement of properties of existing alloys and also for the development of novel alloy systems with superior properties. The present paper reviews our Center's activities in the development of high performance alloys by strip casting. Examples include (1) Al alloys, (2) wrought Mg alloys, and (3) bulk metallic glass (BMG) alloys.

In this paper, we investigate the problem of h∞ synchronization for chaotic neural networks with time-varying delays. A new model of the networks with disturbances in both master and slave systems is presented. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional and using a reciprocally convex approach, a novel h∞ synchronization criterion for the networks concerned is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs） which can be easily solved by various effective optimization algorithms. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In the present work,the dispersion casting of Y-2O-3 particles in aluminum-copper alloy was investigated in terms of microstructural changes with respect to Cu contents of 20 （hypo）,33 （eutectic） and 40 （hyper） wt pct by scanning electron microscopy （sEM） and energy dispersive spectroscopy （EDs）.For the fabrication of Al-Cu alloy dispersed Y-2O-3 ceramic particles,stir casting method was *** case of Al-20 wt pct Cu alloy （hypoeutectic）,sEM images revealed that primary Al was grown up in the *** that,eutectic phase with well dispersed ceramic particles was *** case of eutectic composition,Y-2O-3 particles were uniformly dispersed in the *** the Cu is added into Al up to 40 wt pct （hypereutectic）,primary phase was grown up without any Y-2O-3 ceramic particles in the early stage of ***, eutectic phase was formed with well dispersed ceramic *** can be concluded that Y-2O-3 ceramic particles is mostly dispersed in case of eutectic composition in Al-Cu alloy.

Two intermetallic compounds of Ti-50at.%Al and Ti-48at.%Al-2at.%Cr were prepared with a mechanical alloying and pulse discharge sintering process. The as-sintered material shows a microstructure of equiaxed gamma grain with sub-micron size. heat treatments in Vacuum at different temperatures up to 1573 K were conducted on the sintered materials. The microstructure of the material coarsened considerably after heat treatment at temperatures higher than 1523 K. The mechanical properties of the as-sintered and the heat treated materials were measured at temperatures up to 973 K, with four-point bending tests. Experimental results indicate that the addition of Cr increases the fracture strength of the intermetallic compound at room temperature and at elevated temperatures as well. The bending fracture strength increases with increasing testing temperature up to about 873 K and a decrease following up. Both fracture strength and fracture strain of the material were found to be improved by heat treatment. (Edited author abstract) 10 Refs.

The effective surface treatment method for steel insert composited with Al base metal by expendable pattern casting （EPC） process and the bonding interface between steel insert and Al base metal were *** was found that Zn plating on steel insert was effective on improving the bonding property between steel insert and Al base metal in EPC *** is thought to promote the formation of diffusion *** almost none content of Zn was observed in the boundary which had been plated on the steel insert.A diffusion layer consisting of Al,si and Fe was formed at the insert/alloy interface and its hardness was higher than the steel insert as matter of course Al base *** layer turned out to be intermetallic compounds of Al-si-Fe *** pouring temperature promoted the diffusion of Fe into Al alloy,so Fe content in intermetallic layers increased at higher pouring *** layer nearest to steel disappeared due to applied pressure.

hepatitis B remains a leading cause of cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and liver transplantation worldwide. Management of chronic hepatitis B during pregnancy is challenging. Transmission of hepatitis B to infants still occurs perinataily although immunoprophylaxis is widely available for infants born to mothers with chronic hepatitis B infection. The emerging data suggest that initiation of antiviral therapy in the beginning of the third trimester in highly viremic mothers can prevent immunoprophylaxis failure in their infants. The available drug safety data show that lamivudine, telbivudine and tenofovir are generally safe to be used during the pregnancy. In order to minimize the fetal exposure to the antiviral medication, antiviral therapy during the pregnancy should be limited to a selected group of patients with cirrhosis, high hepatitis B viral load, or prior history immunoprophylaxis failure. An elective Caesarean section may reduce the risk of perinatal transmission. For those females planning for pregnancy or in early stage of pregnancy, communication and follow-up among obstetrician, gastroenterologist, and primary care physician are important. In this article, we will review the features of hepatitis B infection before, during and after the pregnancy; the risk factors that increase mother-tochild transmission; safety data on antiviral drug use during pregnancy; and the potential role of Caesarean section in selected cases.
