The relative intensities of L-subshell x-ray fluorescence(XRF)for elements with atomic numbers 62≤Z≤83 were measured at two excitation energies,18 keV and 23 keV,using a synchrotron radiation source at a beamline of the Synchrotron Light Center for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East(SESAME),*** experimentally measured results of the relative intensities were compared with the calculated results using the subshell fluorescence yield and the Coster-Kronig transition probabilities recommended by Campbell and the values based on the Dirac-hartree-Slater model by *** experimental and theoretical results are in *** this work,L XRF relative intensities for the elements Sm,Gd,Tb,Er,Ta,W,Re,hg,Pb and Bi at energies of 18 keV and 23 keV were measured.

To assess elementary education students’self-efficacy beliefs in science teaching,the Science Teaching Efficacy Belief Instrument developed by Enochs and Riggs was *** instrument consisted of two scales,Personal Science Teaching Efficacy Belief Scale and the Outcome Expectancy *** was administered to 90 undergraduate university students majoring in elementary education at a large public Palestinian *** indicated that students’self-efficacy beliefs in science teaching were comparable to those reported in the original study by Enochs and ***,the participants presented moderate to high self-efficacy in science teaching.

The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

Objective: To determine whether resveratrol(Res) can correct osteoporosis induced in a rat model of male hypogonadism. Methods: Thirty-two rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, 8 in each group;1) a control sham group: underwent a similar surgical procedure for induction of orchiectomy(ORCD) without ligation of any arteries or veins or removal of the testis and epididymis;2) a control + Res-treated group(Con+Res):underwent sham surgery similar to the control, but was then treated with Res, as described below;3) an ORCDinduced group: bilateral ORCD surgery as described above, and 4) a ORCD+Res-treated group: bilateral ORCD surgery followed by Res treatment. Res treatment began 4 weeks after ORCD and continued for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, bone mineral density(BMD) and bone mineral content(BMC) were measured in the tibia and femur of each rat’s right hind leg. Blood levels of bone turnover indicators such as deoxypyridinoline(Dpd), N-telopeptide of type Ⅰ collagen(NTXⅠ), alkaline phosphatase(ALP), and osteocalcin(OC), as well as receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B(RANK) and osteoprotegerin(OPG) were assessed. Results: ORCD significantly decreased BMD(Phibited serum levels of OPG and OC. Res treatment after ORCD effectively increased serum levels of bone formation markers such as OPG and OC, compared with testisectomized rats(Phypogonadism, possible via restoration of the normal balance between RANK and OPG.

A process for purifying aqueous solutions containing heavy and toxic metals such as chromium（Cr） has been investigated. One of the extremely harmful pollutants in rivers and seawater is the heavy metal ions due to their direct impacts on human, animals and plants are hexavalent Cr（Ⅵ）. Consequently, highly sensitive sensor to detect Cr is essential. Surface plasmon resonance（SPR） technique has attracted huge research interest in detecting heavy metals specifically. In this study, three types of prism-based SPR sensor, gold（Au）/silver（Ag）, Au/polyaniline（PANI） and Au/titanium dioxide（TiO2） nanostructured films, are investigated as potential sensing material to detect the presence of Cr（Ⅵ） ions in water. The base Au layer with thickness of 48.3 nm is deposited on a glass slide for all sensors. For Au/Ag, Au/PANI nanofibers and Au/TiO2sensor films, the Cr（Ⅵ） concentration is varied from 1 ppm to 15 ppm with sensitivity of 0.270 °ppm-1, 0.082 °ppm-1and 0.039 °ppm-1, respectively. Based on these results, the Au/PANI nanofibers are the most sensitive to Cr（Ⅵ） among the tested sensing materials.

This paper investigates the free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straight beams,which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) materials. The strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the external force are calculated. Additionally, a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with the force vector. The curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vectors, are *** conditions at the joints are used to derive the total matrices of the entire structure. Subsequently, the natural frequencies and transient response of the system are determined. The accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed computer program is validated through the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing literature and commercial software ANSYS, demonstrating excellent ***, a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various parameters on the free vibration and transient response of the considered structure.

We have investigated the high capacity of Selenium atom (Se) doped nanocones surfaces as hydrogen storage systems. hydrogen is a clean source of energy and it is derived from diverse domestic and sustainable resources. hence, it can use as a viable alternative to fossil fuels. Therefore, the hydrogen storage on pure and doped Se-CNCs, BNNCs and SiCNCs was studied by density functional theory (DFT) method. The obtained results show that the lowest adsorption energy and the highest surface reactivity are -31.03 eV and 39.73 Debye for Se-Si34C41H9-M1 with disclination angle 300°, respectively. Therefore, one can conclude that the doped Se-SiCNCs are good candidate for hydrogen storage. This finding was also confirmed by using the molecular orbital analysis. It is found that doping NCs with Se atom results in increasing the electron density around the Se atom and leading to increase the hydrogen storage capacity. The new understanding of highly efficient hydrogen storage for doped Se-SiCNCs, will be useful for the future synthesis of nancones with high performance for h2 energy storage.
