The rare earth elements(REE)are critical raw materials for much of modern technology,particularly renewable energy infrastructure and electric vehicles that are vital for the energy *** of the world's largest REE deposits occur in alkaline rocks and carbonatites,which are found in intracontinental,rift-related settings,and also in syn-to post-collisional ***-collisional settings host significant REE deposits,such as those of the Mianning-Dechang belt in *** paper reviews REE mineralization in syn-to post-collisional alkaline-carbonatite complexes worldwide,in order to demonstrate some of the key physical and chemical features of these *** use three examples,in Scotland,Namibia,and Turkey,to illustrate the structure of these *** review published geochemical data and use these to build up a broad model for the REE mineral system in post-collisional alkaline-carbonatite *** is evident that immiscibility of carbonate-rich magmas and fluids plays an important part in generating mineralization in these settings,with REE,Ba and F partitioning into the carbonate-rich *** most significant REE mineralization in post-collisional alkaline-carbonatite complexes occurs in shallow-level,carbothermal or carbonatite intrusions,but deeper carbonatite bodies and associated alteration zones may also have REE enrichment.

Modelling Economic Order Quantities,Considering Buy and Repair Options for Defective Items,and Allowing for Shortages and Inspection Errors

Nowadays,it is common for suppliers to be separated from their buyers by great *** means that,if some items in the lot turn out to be defective,the distance makes it uneconomical to order replacements from the original ***,both Type I and Type II errors may occur in the screening process for eliminating defective items and the combination of defective items and inspection errors may lead to *** with these assumptions,this paper develops two distinct *** the first model,defective items are repaired by a local repair shop subject to a repair charge and a mark-up *** the second model,a local supplier replaces the defective with good ones,but at a higher *** expected total profit per cycle is developed,together with the expected cycle time,and,employing the renewal reward theorem,the objective function is derived,from which the optimum values are obtained for the order and shortage *** paper presents numerical results and a discussion for both *** study finds that repairing defective items generally leads to greater total profit than purchasing local replacements.

Effects of Tungsten and Boron Contents on Crystallization Temperature and Microhardness of Tungsten Based Metallic Glasses

Effects of tungsten and boron contents on the thermal properties and microhardness of W-Fe-B metallic glass system were studied. Thin foils, with thicknesses of 20 and 100 ktm, of the alloys were produced by piston and anvil method in an arc furnace. The structures of the foils were investigated by X-ray diffraction. Thermal stabilities of the alloys were examined by using differential scanning calorimetry. 20-μm- thick foils of all the alloys were determined to be fully amorphous, but crystalline phases were detected in the 100-μm-thick foils. It was found that crystallization temperatures of the alloys are between 1060 and 1177 K. Tungsten and boron content increases improve the crystallization temperature and microhardness of the alloys significantly, but deteriorate the glass forming ability of the alloys. It was also observed that for constant Fe content, increasing tungsten content to the level higher than that of boron content does not result in any further improvement in crystallization temperature, but improves glass forming ability significantly. The alloy containing highest total amount of tungsten and boron, W35Fe35B3o, has the highest crystallization temperature, 1177 K, and microhardness, 1634 hV.

Solution of the finite slab criticality problem using an alternative phase function with the second kind of Chebyshev polynomials

The critical size of a finite homogenous slab is investigated for one-speed neutrons using the alternative phase function(AG, Anli-Gungor) in place of the scattering function of the transport equation. First of all, the neutron angular flux expanded in terms of the Chebyshev polynomials of second kind(UN approximation) together with the AG phase function is applied to the transport equation to obtain a criticality condition for the ***, using various values of the scattering parameters, the numerical results for the critical half-thickness of the slab are calculated and they are tabulated in the tables together with the ones obtained from the conventional spherical harmonic(PN) method for comparison. They can be said to be in good accordance with each other.

Physical and mechanical properties of some hybrid corn varieties

The aim of this study was to determine the structural designing parameters of silo and bins used for storage of some hybrid corn varieties(Zea mays L.).In the research,three corn varieties-dentcorn(Zea mays indentata Sturt.),popcorn(Zea mays everta Sturt.),sweetcorn(Zea mays sacharata Sturt.)-widespread cultivated in Turkey were ***-mechanical parameters(bulk density,true density,angle of internal friction,static coefficient of friction)were considered as the dependent variables,and moisture content(8%,10%,12%,and 14%)as the independent *** bulk density,true density and angle of internal friction varied from 608.46 to 856.46 kg/m^(3),950.88 to 1110.89 kg/m^(3),and 25.2°to 34.2°,respectively,with the increase in moisture content from 8% to 14%.According to results of the research,the highest average value for bulk density,true density,angle of internal friction were found in popcorn variety(839.17 kg/m^(3)),popcorn variety(1074.40 kg/m^(3)),sweetcorn variety(30.50°),*** highest average value for static coefficient of friction at concrete surface(C30)was recorded in dentcorn variety(0.662).

Fitting Single Particle Energies in sdgh Major Shell

We have performed two kinds of non-linear fitting procedures to the single-particle energies in the sdgh major shell to obtain better shell model results. The low-lying energy eigenvaiues of the light Sn isotopes with A = 103 - 110 in the sdgh-shell are calculated in the framework of the nuclear shell model by using CD-Bonn two-body effective nucleon- nucleon interaction. The obtained energy eigenvalues are fitted to the corresponding experimental values by using two different non-linear fitting procedures, i.e., downhill simplex method and clonai selection method. The unknown single-particle energies of the states 2s1/2, ld3/2, and Oh11/2 are used in the fitting methods to obtain better spectra of the 104,106,108,110Sn isotopes, We compare the energy spectra of the 104,106,108,110Sn and 103,105,107,109Sn isotopes with/without a nonlinear fit to the experimental results.

Expandable endoprostheses in skeletally immature patients:Where we are

A VhDL application for kinematic equation solutions of multi-degree-of-freedom systems

As kinematic calculations are complicated, it takes a long time and is difficult to get the desired accurate result with a single processor in real-time motion control of multi-degree-of-freedom(MDOF) systems. Another calculation unit is needed, especially with the increase in the degree of freedom. The main central processing unit(CPU) has additional loads because of numerous motion elements which move independently from each other and their closed-loop controls. The system designed is also complicated because there are many parts and cabling. This paper presents the design and implementation of a hardware that will provide solutions to these problems. It is realized using the Very high Speed Integrated Circuit hardware Description Language(VhDL) and field-programmable gate array(FPGA). This hardware is designed for a six-legged robot and has been working with servo motors controlled via the serial port. The hardware on FPGA calculates the required joint angles for the feet positions received from the serial port and sends the calculated angels to the servo motors via the serial port. This hardware has a co-processor for the calculation of kinematic equations and can be used together with the equipment that would reduce the electromechanical mess. It is intended to be used as a tool which will accelerate the transition from design to application for robots.
