Dear Editor,Spatial transcriptomics(ST)makes it possible to perform RNA-seq at hundreds of precisely located spots on the surface of a histological slice(Stahl et al.,2016).Since mRNA diffusion is minimal during tissues permeabilization and mRNA capture,the transcriptome of each spot is thought to aggregate the transcriptomes of the cells it contains.

Climate change poses a serious long-term threat to *** effectively reduce biodiversity loss,conservationists need to have a thorough understanding of the preferred habitats of species and the variables that affect their ***,predicting the impact of climate change on speciesappropriate habitats may help mitigate the potential threats to biodiversity ***,a monocotyledonous genus of the family Velloziaceae is native to mainland Africa,Madagascar,and the Arabian *** key drivers of Xerophyta habitat distribution and preference are *** 308 species occurrence data and eight environmental variables,the MaxEnt model was used to determine the potential distribution of six Xerophyta species in Africa under past,current and future climate change *** results showed that the models had a good predictive ability(Area Under the Curve and True Skill Statistics values for all SDMs were more than 0.902),indicating high accuracy in forecasting the potential geographic distribution of Xerophyta *** main bioclimatic variables that impacted potential distributions of most Xerophyta species were mean temperature of the driest quarter(Bio9)and precipitation of the warmest quarter(Bio18).According to our models,tropical Africa has zones of moderate and high suitability for Xerophyta taxa,which is consistent with the majority of documented species *** habitat suitability of the existing range of the Xerophyta species varied based on the climate scenario,with most species experiencing a range loss greater than the range gain regardless of the climate *** projected spatiotemporal patterns of Xerophyta species help guide recommendations for conservation efforts.

Background Serological screening tests play a crucial role to diagnose gambiense human African trypanosomiasis(gHAT).Presently,they preselect individuals for microscopic confrmation,but in future"screen and treat"strategies they willidentify individuals for *** in reported specificities,the development of new rapid diagnos-tic tests(RDT)and the hypothesis that malaria infection may decrease RDT specificity led us to evaluate the specificity of 5 gHAT screening *** During active screening,venous blood samples from 1095 individuals from Cote d'ivoire and Guinea were tested consecutively with commercial(CATT,HAT Sero-K-SeT,Abbott Bioline HAT 2.0)and prototype(DCN HAT RDT,HAT Sero-K-SeT 2.0)gHAT screening tests and with a malaria *** with≥1 positive gHAT screening test underwent microscopy and further immunological(trypanolysis with *** LiTat 1.3,1.5 and 1.6;indirect ELISA/***;*** inhibition ELISA with *** LiTat 1.3 and 1.5 VSG)and molecular reference laboratory tests(PCR TBRN3,18S and TgsGP;SHERLOCK 18S Tids,7SL Zoon,and TgsGP;Trypanozoon S2-RT-qPCR 18S2,177T,GPl-PLC and TgsGP in multiplex;RT-qPCR DT8,DT9 and TgsGP in multiplex).Microscopic trypanosome detection confrmed gHAT,while other individuals were considered gHAT *** in fractions between groups were assessed by Chi square and differences in specificity between 2 tests on the same individuals by *** One gHAT case was *** test specificities(n=1094)were:CATT 98.9%(95%CI:98.1-99.4%);HAT Sero-K-SeT 86.7%(95%CI:84.5-88.5%);Bioline HAT 2.082.1%(95%CI:79.7-84.2%);DCN HAT RDT 78.2%(95%CI:75.7-80.6%);and HAT Sero-K-SeT 2.078.4%(95%CI:75.9-80.8%).In malaria positives,gHAT screening tests appeared less specific,but the difference Was significant only in Guinea for Abbott Bioline HAT 2.0(P=0.03)and HAT Sero-K-Set 2.0(P=0.0006).The specificities of immunological and molecular laboratory tests in gHAT seroposit

Esthetic treatments can induce swelling and bruises. Thus, a treatment that would prevent or hasten the resolution of bruising should be very useful. Generally, the regression of bruising was conducted with patients or animals models. So we decided firstly to develop an ex vivo model in order to test antibruising properties of topical formulations and secondly to evaluate a curative effect of a cream (mixture of arnica extract and apigenin) in comparison with a positive control (vulnerary cream) and also to estimate the preventive interest of this cream. The results showed that the injection of 25 μl of blood into the dermis of skin fragments was sufficient to create a model of induced-bruise. The duration of 24 hours was chosen to compare the effects of actives on the decrease in the size of the bruise. Joint effects of a pretreatment and a treatment of a mixture of arnica extract and apigenin decreased significantly the area of bruising compared to the treatment group, the control group and the positive control group. Many topical products claim to improve bruising on their package label. Our model can demonstrate their efficacy and determinate the best topical antibruising formulation. The mechanism involved in anti-inflammatory activity of active compounds of topical formulations is often not fully understood. Our blood-induced model may bring some responses through the study of mediators of the inflammation.

There is evidence that a substantial part of genetic predisposition to prostate cancer （PCa） may be due to lower penetrance genes which are found by genome-wide association studies. We have recently conducted such a study and seven new regions of the genome linked to PCa risk have been identified. Three of these loci contain candidate susceptibility genes： MSMB, LMTK2 and KLK2/3. The MSMB and KLK2/3 genes may be useful for PCa screening, and the LMTK2 gene might provide a potential therapeutic target. Together with results from other groups, there are now 23 germline genetic variants which have been reported. These results have the potential to be developed into a genetic test. However, we consider that marketing of tests to the public is premature, as PCa risk can not be evaluated fully at this stage and the appropriate screening protocols need to be developed. Follow-up validation studies, as well as studies to explore the psychological implications of genetic profile testing, will be vital prior to roll out into healthcare.
