One of the main changes of the current TNM-7 is the elimination of the category MX,since it has been a source of ambiguity and misinterpretation,especially by *** the ultimate staging would be better performed by the patient's clinician who can classify the disease M0(no distant metastasis) or M1(presence of distant metastasis),having access to the completeness of data resulting from clinical examination,imaging workup and pathology *** this important change doesn't take into account the diagnostic value and the challenge of small indeterminate visceral lesions encountered,in particular,during radiological staging of patients with colorectal *** this article the diagnosis of these lesions with multiple imaging modalities,their frequency,significance and relevance to staging and disease management are described in a multidisciplinary *** particular the interplay between clinical,radiological and pathological staging,which are usually conducted independently,is *** integrated approach shows that there are both advantages and disadvantages to abandoning the MX *** avoid ambiguity arising both by applying and interpreting MX category for stage assigning,its abandoning seems *** recognition of the importance of small lesion characterization raises the need for applying a separate category;therefore a proposal for their categorization is put *** using the proposed categorization the lack of consideration for indeterminate visceral lesions with the current staging system will be overcome,also optimizing tailored follow-up.

AdS/QCD and light front holography: A new approximation to QCD

The combination of Anti-de Sitter space （AdS） methods with light-front holography leads to a semi-classical first approximation to the spectrum and wavefunctions of meson and baryon light-quark bound *** from the bound-state Hamiltonian equation of motion in QCD,we derive relativistic lightfront wave equations in terms of an invariant impact variable ζ which measures the separation of the quark and gluonic constituents within the hadron at equal light-front *** equations of motion in physical space-time are equivalent to the equations of motion which describe the propagation of spin-J modes in anti–de Sitter （AdS） *** eigenvalues give the hadronic spectrum,and its eigenmodes represent the probability distributions of the hadronic constituents at a given *** to the light meson and baryon spectra are *** predicted meson spectrum has a string-theory Regge form M^ 2 = 4κ ^2 （n＋L＋S/2）;i.e.,the square of the eigenmass is linear in both L and n,where n counts the number of nodes of the wavefunction in the radial variable ζ.The space-like pion and nucleon form factors are also well *** thus obtains a remarkable connection between the description of hadronic modes in AdS space and the Hamiltonian formulation of QCD in physical space-time quantized on the light-front at fixed light-front time τ.The model can be systematically improved by using its complete orthonormal solutions to diagonalize the full QCD lightfront Hamiltonian or by applying the Lippmann-Schwinger method in order to systematically include the QCD interaction terms.

AdS/QCD and Applications of Light-front Holography

Light-front holography leads to a rigorous connection between hadronic amplitudes in a higher dimensional anti-de Sitter(AdS) space and frame-independent light-front wavefunctions of hadrons in(3 + 1)-dimensional physical space-time,thus providing a compelling physical interpretation of the AdS/CfT correspondence principle and AdS/QCD,a useful framework which describes the correspondence between theories in a modified AdS 5 background and confining field theories in physical *** a first semiclassical approximation,where quantum loops and quark masses are not included,this approach leads to a single-variable light-front Schro¨dinger equation which determines the eigenspectrum and the light-front wavefunctions of hadrons for general spin and orbital angular *** coordinate z in AdS space is uniquely identified with a Lorentz-invariant coordinate ζ which measures the separation of the constituents within a hadron at equal light-front *** internal structure of hadrons is explicitly introduced and the angular momentum of the constituents plays a key *** give an overview of the light-front holographic approach to strongly coupled *** particular,we study the photon-to-meson transition form factors(Tffs) fMγ(Q 2) for γ→ M using light-front holographic *** results for the Tffs for the η and η ' mesons are also *** novel features of QCD are discussed,including the consequences of confinement for quark and gluon condensates.A method for computing the hadronization of quark and gluon jets at the amplitude level is outlined.

An assessment of coal pillar system stability criteria based on a mechanistic evaluation of the interaction between coal pillars and the overburden

Coal pillar design has historically assigned a factor of safety(fo S) or stability factor(Sf) according to their estimated strength and the assumed overburden load acting on them. Acceptable fo S values have been assigned based on past mining experience or a statistical link between fo S and probability of failure(Po f). Pillar width-to-height(w/h) ratio has long been established as having a material influence on both pillar strength and its potential failure mode. However, there has been significant disagreement on using both factor of safety(fo S) and w/h as part of pillar system stability criterion, as compared to using fo S in isolation. This paper will argue that there are valid technical reasons to bring w/h ratio into system stability criteria(other than its influence on pillar strength), as it is related to the post-failure stiffness of the pillar, as measured in situ, and its interaction with overburden stiffness. When overburden stiffness is also brought into pillar system stability considerations, two issues emerge. The first is the width-todepth(W/D) ratio of the panel and whether it is sub-critical or super-critical from a surface subsidence perspective. The second relates to a re-evaluation of pillar fo S based on whether the pillar is in an elastic or non-elastic(i.e., post-yield) state in its as-designed condition, as this is relevant to maintaining overburden stiffness at the highest possible level. The significance of the model is the potential to maximise both reserve recovery and mining efficiencies without any discernible increase in geotechnical risk, particularly in thick seams and higher depth of cover mining situations. At a time when mining economics are, at best, marginal, removing potentially unnecessary design conservatism is of interest to all mine operators and is an important topic for discussion amongst the geotechnical community.

Dissipation and amplification management in an electrical model of microtubules: Hybrid behavior network

The control of dissipation and amplification of solitary waves in an electrical model of a microtubule is *** model consists of a shunt nonlinear resistance–capacitance(J(V)–C(V)) circuit and a series resistance–inductance(R–L) circuit. Through linear dispersion analysis, two features of the network are found, that is, low bandpass and bandpass filter characteristics. The effects of the conductance’s parameter λ on the linear dispersion curve are also analyzed. It appears that an increase of λ induces a decrease(an increase) of the width of the bandpass filter for positive(negative) values of λ. By applying the reductive perturbation method, we derive the equation governing the dynamics of the modulated waves in the system. This equation is the well-known nonlinear Schr?dinger equation extended by a linear term proportional to a hybrid parameter σ, i.e., a dissipation or amplification coefficient. Based on this parameter, we successfully demonstrate the hybrid behavior(dissipation and amplification) of the system. The exact and approximate solitary wave solutions of the obtained equation are derived, and the effects of the coefficient σ on the characteristic parameters of these waves are investigated. Using the analytical solutions found, we show numerically that the waves that are propagated throughout the system can be dissipated, amplified, or remain stable depending on the network parameters. These results are not only in agreement with the analytical predictions, but also with the existing experimental results in the literature.

Symbiotic associations between mammals and fungi have been well documented and are widely regarded as vital to ecosystem functions around the *** between birds and fungi are also ecologically vital but have been far less thoroughly *** manuscript is the first to review a wide range of symbiotic associations between birds and *** compile the largest list to date of bird species reported to eat fungi(54 bird species in 27 families)and follow up with a discussion of these symbioses and suggestions for how future studies can determine the prevalence of associations between birds and *** review the importance of fungi for cavity-excavating birds and show that at least 30 bird species in three families form varying levels of associations with fungi for cavity *** also review the use of fungal rhizomorphs in nest construction and show that 176 bird species in 37 families use fungal material in their *** of these interactions have wide-reaching ecosystem implications,particularly in regard to fungal dispersal and biogeography,plant health,ecosystem function,bird nutrition/fitness and bird behaviour.
