The British Medical Association(BMA)guidance on non-therapeutic circumcision(NTMC)of male children is limited to ethical,legal and religious *** we evaluate criticisms of the BMA’s guidance by Lempert et *** their arguments promoting autonomy and consent might be superficially appealing,their claim of high procedural risks and negligible benefits seem one-sided and contrast with high quality evidence of low risk and lifelong *** literature reviews by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the United States Centers for disease Control and Prevention in developing evidence-based policies,as well as risk-benefit analyses,have found that the medical benefits of infant NTMC greatly exceed the risks,and there is no reduction in sexual function and *** BMA’s failure to consider the medical benefits of early childhood NTMC may partly explain why this prophylactic intervention is discouraged in the United *** consequence is higher prevalence of preventable infections,adverse medical conditions,suffering and net costs to the UK’s National Health Service for treatment of *** of the issues and contradictions in the BMA guidance identified by Lempert et al stem from the BMA’s guidance not being sufficiently ***,that document called for a review by others of the medical issues surrounding *** societal factors apply,ultimately,NTMC can only be justified rationally on scientific,evidence-based *** are entitled to an accurate presentation of the medical evidence so that they can make an informed *** decision either for or against NTMC should then be respected.

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to use decision tree modeling to generate profiles of children and youth who were more and less likely to meet the Canadian 24-h movement guidelines during the coronavirus disease-2019(COVId-19)***:data for this study were from a nationally representative sample of 1472 Canadian parents(Meanage=45.12,Sd=7.55)of children(511 years old)or youth(1217 years old).data were collected in April 2020 via an online *** items assessed demographic,behavioral,social,micro-environmental,and macro-environmental *** decision trees of adherence and non-adherence to all movement recommendations combined and each individual movement recommendation(physical activity(PA),screen time,and sleep)were ***:Results revealed specific combinations of adherence and non-adherence *** associated with adherence to the recommendation(s)included high parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,annual household income ofCAd 100,000,increases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVId-19 outbreak began,being a boy,having parents younger than 43 years old,and small increases in children’s and youth’s sleep duration since the COVId-19 outbreak *** associated with non-adherence to the recommendation(s)included low parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,youth aged 1217 years,decreases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVId-19 outbreak began,primary residences located in all provinces except Quebec,low parental perceived capability to support children’s and youth’s sleep and PA,and annual household income ofCAd 99,***:Our results show that specific characteristics interact to contribute to(non)adherence to the movement behavior *** highlight the importance of targeting parents’perceived capability for the promotion of children’s and youth’s movement behaviors during challengin

Tropospheric ozone(O_(3))concentration is increasing in China along with dramatic changes in precursor emissions and meteorological conditions,adversely affecting human health and ecosystems.O_(3) is formed from the complex nonlinear photochemical reactions from nitrogen oxides(NOx=NO+NO_(2))and volatile organic compounds(VOCs).Although the mechanism of O_(3) formation is rather clear,describing and analyzing its changes and formation potential at fine spatial and temporal resolution is still a challenge *** this study,we briefly summarized and evaluated different approaches that indicate O_(3) formation *** identify that atmospheric oxidation capacity(AOC)is a better indicator of photochemical reactions leading to the formation of O_(3) and other secondary *** show that AOC has a prominent positive relationship to O_(3) in the major city clusters in China,with a goodness of fit(R^(2))up to *** outcome provides a novel perspective in characterizing O_(3) formation and has significant implications for formulating control strategies of secondary pollutants.

Structural geochemistry of gold mineralization in the Linglong-Jiaojia district, Shandong Province, China

The Linglong-Jiaojia district is one of the most important regions containing gold deposits in China. These gold deposits can be divided into: a) the pyrite-gold-quartz vein type (Linglong type), which is controlled by brittle-ductile to ductile deformation structures, and b) the alteration-zone type (Jiaojia type), characterized by small veinlets, or the disseminated type recognized in brittle shear zones. Lode gold deposits in the Jiaojia area occur in NE brittle fracture zones, formed in a dominantly simple shear deformation regime, mainly in thrust attitude with a minor sinistral strike slip component. In the Linglong area, the lode gold deposits are located at the intersection of three types of structures: NNE and NE brittle-ductile fault zones and the ENE ductile reverse shear zone in the south of the area. The structural characteristics of these brittle shear zones are consistent with a tectonic NNW-SSE principal stress field orientation. Similar stresses explain the ENE Qixia fold axes, the Potouqing and several other ENE reverse ductile shear zones elsewhere in the region, the Tancheng-Lujiang fault zone and its subsidiaries in the vicinity of the Linglong-Jiaojia district, as well as the southern ENE suture zone north of Qingdao. Therefore these structural systems occurred as part of different major tectonic events under NNW-SSE compression principal stress fields in the area. Gold deposits are hosted in smaller-scale structures within the brittle fault zones and brittle-ductile shear zones. Although ore bodies and, on a smaller scale, quartz ore veins often seem to be randomly oriented, it is possible to explain their distribution and orientation in terms of the simple shear deformation process under which they were developed. The progressive simple shear failure is characterized by various fracture modes (tension and shear) that intervene in sequence. Advanced finite element analysis of a complex deep excavation case history in Shanghai

The construction of the North Square Shopping Center of the Shanghai South Railway Station is a large scale complex top-down deep excavation project. The excavation is adjacent to several current and newly planned Metro lines, and influenced by a neighboring Exchange Station excavation. The highly irregular geometry of this excavation greatly increases the complexity in 3d Finite Element modeling. The advanced numerical modeling described in this paper includes detailed structural and geotechnical behavior. Important features are considered in the analysis, e.g., 1） the small-strain stiffness of the soil, 2） the construction joints in the diaphragm wall, 3） the shrinkage in the concrete floor slabs and beams, 4） the complex construction sequences, and 5） the shape effect of the deep excavation. The numerical results agree well with the field data, and some valuable conclusions are generated.

dredged sediments are being chemically treated with phosphoric acid on an industrial *** effectiveness of the treatment was evaluated by performing the chemical reaction in a tubular reactor, followed by convective drying and maturation of the treated sediment at ambient temperature and finally thermal destruction of the organic matter by calcinations(500℃-900℃).The influence of acid concentration and calcination temperature on the specific surface area of the sediment was investigated. The stabilization of the heavy metals was evaluated by leaching tests and sequential extraction *** phosphoric acid treatment is effective in reducing heavy metal mobility,a prerequisite for recycling the sediments in various construction materials.

Spider mites have one ecdysone receptor(EcR)and multiple retinoid X receptors(RXRs).However,the function of these RXRs in spider mite development is ***,we screened the expression dynamics of two PcRXR isoforms at 4 h intervals in the deutonymphal stage of Panonychus *** results showed that PcEcR had an expression pattern similar to that of *** PcRXR1,its expression remained at a certain high level,when there was a decrease of both PcEcR and *** situ hybridization showed that PcRXR2 was detected in the central nervous mass,while the ecdysteroid biosynthesis gene PcSpo was mainly expressed at the edge of the central nervous ***-based silencing of PcRXR1 or PcRXR2 showed the same phenotype as in mites with that of silencing ***,RNA-seq was used to mine the genes associated with the expression dynamics of PcRXR1 or PcRXR2,which revealed that the heterodimer of EcR-RXR2 in spider mites might be linked with the cell autophagy and tissue remodeling during apolysis,and RXR1 might be linked with new epicuticle and exocuticle secretion during *** together,these results increase our understanding of the regulation mechanism of ecdysteroid signal pathway in spider mite development.
