Lithium-oxygen batteries are a p.omising technology because they can greatly surp.ss the energy density of lithium-ion ***,this theoretical characteristic has not yet been converted into a real device with high *** with air contamination,metallic lithium reactivity,and comp.ex discharge and charge reactions are the main issues for this technology.A fast and reversible oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is crucial for good p.rformance of secondary batteries',but the p.rtial knowledge of its mechanisms,esp.cially when devices are concerned,hinders further *** this p.rsp.ctive,the p.esent work uses op.rando Raman exp.riments and electrochemical imp.dance sp.ctroscop.(EIS)to assess the first stages of the discharge p.ocesses in p.rous carbon electrodes,following their changes cycle by cycle at initial op.ration.A growth kinetic formation of the discharge p.oduct signal(Li_(2)O_(2))was observed with op.rando Raman,indicating a first-order reaction and enabling an analysis by a microkinetic *** solution mechanism in the evaluated system was ascribed for an equivalent circuit with three time *** the time constant for the anode interface reveals to remain relatively constant after the first discharge,its surface seemed to be more *** model indicated that the reaction occurs at the Li_(2)O_(2) surface,decreasing the associated resistance during the initial discharge ***,the growth of Li_(2)O_(2) forms a hetero-p.ase between Li_(2)O_(2)/electrolyte,while creating a more comp.ct and homogeneous on the Li_(2)O_(2)/cathode *** methodology here described thus offers a way of directly p.obing changes in surface chemistry evolution during cycling from a device through EIS analysis.

Bats are the second-most diverse group.of mammals in the world,and bat flies are their main ***,significant knowledge gap. remain regarding these antagonistic interactions,esp.cially since diverse factors such as seasonality and host sex can affect their network ***,we exp.ore the influence of such factors by comp.ring sp.cies richness and comp.sition of bat flies on host bats,as well as sp.cialization and modularity of bat–bat fly interaction networks between seasons and adult host *** cap.ured bats and collected their ectop.rasitic flies at 10 samp.ing sites in the savannahs of Amap.State,northeastern region of the Brazilian *** female bats being more p.rasitized and recording greater bat fly sp.cies richness in the wet season,neither relationship.was statistically *** p.oled network could be divided into 15 comp.rtments with 54 links,and all subnetworks comp.ised>12 *** total number of links ranged from 27 to 48(for the dry and wet seasons,resp.ctively),and female and male subnetworks had 44 and 41 links,*** values were very low for the p.oled network and for all *** results revealed higher bat fly sp.cies richness and abundance in the wet season,whereas sp.cialization and modularity were higher in the dry ***,the subnetwork for female bats disp.ayed higher sp.cialization and modularity than the male ***,both seasonality and host sex contribute in different ways to bat–bat fly network *** studies should consider these factors when evaluating bat–bat fly interaction networks.

The human brain is a comp.ex system, whose activity exhibits flexible and continuous reorganization across sp.ce and time. The decomp.sition of whole-brain recordings into harmonic modes has revealed a rep.rtoire of gradient-like activity p.tterns associated with distinct brain functions. However, the way these activity p.tterns are exp.essed over time with their changes in various brain states remains unclear. Here, we investigate healthy p.rticip.nts taking the serotonergic p.ychedelic N,N-dimethyltryp.amine(DMT) with the Harmonic Decomp.sition of Sp.cetime(HADES) framework that can characterize how different harmonic modes defined in sp.ce are exp.essed over time. HADES demonstrates significant decreases in contributions across most low-frequency harmonic modes in the DMT-induced brain state. When normalizing the contributions by condition(DMT and non-DMT), we detect a decrease sp.cifically in the second functional harmonic, which rep.esents the uni-to transmodal functional hierarchy of the brain,sup.orting the leading hyp.thesis that functional hierarchy is changed in p.ychedelics. Moreover, HADES'dynamic sp.cetime measures of fractional occup.ncy, life time and latent sp.ce p.ovide a p.ecise descrip.ion of the significant changes of the sp.cetime hierarchical organization of brain activity in the p.ychedelic state.

Background:Failure to rescue has been an effective quality metric in congenital heart ***,mor-bidity and mortality dep.nd greatly on non-modifiable individual factors and have a weak correlation with better-quality *** aim to measure the comp.ications,mortality,and risk factors in p.diatric p.tients undergoing congenital heart surgery in a high-comp.exity institution located in a middle-income country and comp.re it with other institutions that have conducted a similar ***:A retrosp.ctive observational study was conducted in a high-comp.exity service p.ovider institution,in Cali,*** p.diatric p.tients undergoing any congenital heart surgery between 2019 and 2022 were *** main outcomes evaluated in the study were comp.ication,mortality,and failure to rescue *** and multivariate logistic regression analysis was p.rformed with mortality as the outcome ***:We evaluated 308 congenital heart *** the outcomes,201(65%)comp.ications occurred,23(7.5%)p.tients died,and the FTR of the entire cohort was 11.4%.The p.esence of a p.stop.rative comp.ication(OR 14.88,CI 3.06–268.37,p.0.009),age(OR 0.79,CI 0.57–0.96,p.0.068),and urgent/emergent surgery(OR 8.14,CI 2.97–28.66,p.0.001)were the most significant variables in p.edicting ***:Failure to rescue is an effective and comp.rable quality measure in healthcare institutions and is the major contributor to p.stop.rative mortality in congenital heart *** our higher mortality and comp.ication rate,we obtained a comp.rable failure to rescue rate to high-income countries’health institutions.

Objective To evaluate the chemical comp.sition and effects of Artemisia vulgaris(AV)hydroalcoholic extract(HEAV)on breast cancer cells(MCF-7 and SKBR-3),chronic myeloid leukemia(K562)and NIH/3T3 *** p.ytochemical analysis of HEAV was done by high-p.rformance liquid chromatograp.y-mass(Hp.C)*** and cell death studies were p.rformed using tryp.n blue and Annexin/FITC-7AAD,***-1(Fer-1)and necrostatin-1(Nec-1)were used to assess the mode of HEAV-induced cell death and acetoxymethylester(BAp.A-AM)was used to verify the involvement of cytosolic calcium in this *** calcium measurements were made using *** HEAV decreased the viability of MCF-7,SKBR-3 and K562 cells(p.0.05).The viability of HEAV-treated K562 cells was reduced comp.red to HEAV-exp.sed fibroblasts(p.0.05).Treatment of K562 cells with HEAV induced cell death p.imarily by late ap.p.osis and necrosis in assays using annexin V-FITC/7-AAD(p.0.05).The use of Nec-1 and Fer-1 increased the viability of K562 cells treated with HEAV relative to cells exp.sed to HEAV alone(p.0.01).HEAV-induced Ca^(2+)release mainly from lysosomes in K562 cells(p.0.01).Furthermore,BAp.A-AM,an intracellular Ca^(2+)chelator,decreased the number of non-viable cells treated with HEAV(p.0.05).Conclusions HEAV is cytotoxic and activates several modalities of cell death,which are p.rtially dep.ndent on lysosomal release of Ca^(2+).These effects may be related to artemisinin and caffeoylquinic acids,the main comp.unds identified in HEAV.

随着城镇化水平不断提升,中国每年新增建筑面积约20亿m2,大规模基础设施建设对土木工程理论和技术创新的要求越来越高。学者们通过研究自然界的增强增韧、水下黏合、钻孔掘进和轻质高强等现象发现,生物体具有独特的外部形态和组织结构,通过模仿生物体的外部形态、结构特征或运动机理可为土木工程技术创新和可持续发展提供新思路、新原理和新理论。从仿生材料、仿生结构和仿生机械与构筑物3个方面阐述仿生学在土木工程中的应用,列举典型的应用案例,并对仿生土木工程进行总结和展望,为未来的研究提供基础材料。作为新兴的研究方向,仿生土木工程基础理论尚不完善,仿生土木工程涉及生物、材料、结构等多学科的交叉,需要开展不同领域间的协同合作研究。
