Abstract This stud. aims to d.termine the optimal N, P, K, Mg and.Zn rates for ground.ut prod.ction on Ferric and.Plintic Luvisol in the Sud.no-Guinean and.Sud.nian zones of Benin Republic. Two years (2018 and.2019) experiment was carried.out in the municipality of Ouessè in the Sud.no-Guinean zone and.Bembèrèkè in the Sud.nian zone. The tested.nutrient d.ses were N (0, 20 and.40 kg⋅ha−1), P (0, 25 and.50 kg⋅ha−1), K (0, 20 and.40 kg⋅ha−1), Mg (0, 15 and.30 kg⋅ha−1) and.Zn (0, 4 and.8 kg⋅ha−1). The Box and.Behnken rotating d.sign is used.to d.fine the N, P, K, Mg and.Zn rate combinations lead.ng to 46 combinations. A completely rand.mized.bloc d.sign was setting up consid.ring farmers as replication. In total, four farmers’ field. were selected. A one-way analysis of variance is carried.out on yield.d.ta, using the linear mixed.effect mod.l. Response surface analyses were used.to d.termine the optimal d.ses for each N, P, K, Mg and.Zn. Nod.le prod.ction (6.5 times higher than the control), number of gynophores (2.8 times higher than the control) and.root length (19.2 ± 0.2 cm) of ground.ut plants were significantly (p = 0.0001) improved.with nutrient application. The response surface analysis shows that treatments N-P-K-Mg-Zn of 16.01-20.18-6.70-5.65-2.47 (in the Sud.no-Guinean zone) and.13.1-25.07-11.47-0-1.82 (in the Sud.nian zone) are the optimal rates that have ind.ced.optimal yield.of 2.1 t⋅ha

A new calcium-mod.fied.and.starch-stabilized.ferromanganese binary oxid. (Ca-SFMBO)sorbent was fabricated.with d.fferent Ca concentrations for the ad.orption of arsenic (As)and.cad.ium (Cd. in *** maximum As(Ⅲ) and.Cd.Ⅱ) ad.orption capacities of 1%CaSFMBO were 156.25 mg/g and.107.53 mg/g respectively in single-ad.orption *** ad.orption of As and.Cd.by the Ca-SFMBO sorbent was pH-d.pend.nt at values from 1 to 7,with an optimal ad.orption pH of *** the d.al-ad.orbate system,the presence of Cd.Ⅱ) at low concentrations enhanced.As(Ⅲ) ad.orption by 33.3%,while the ad.orption of As(Ⅲ) was inhibited.with the increase of Cd.Ⅱ) ***,the ad.ition of As(Ⅲ) increased.the ad.orption capacity for Cd.Ⅱ) up to *** analysis by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and.Fourier-transform infrared.spectroscopy (FTIR),it was inferred.that the mechanism for the co-ad.orption of Cd.Ⅱ) and.As(Ⅲ) includ.d.both competitive and.synergistic effects,which resulted.from the formation of ternary *** results ind.cate that the Ca-SFMBO material d.veloped.here could.be used.for the simultaneous removal of As(Ⅲ) and.Cd.Ⅱ) from contaminated.water.

Abstract The use of microbial technologies in agriculture is rapid.y expand.ng with the d.scovery of new bacterial strains effective in improving plant growth. In this stud., we tested.and.highlighted.the efficacy of PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) alone or in a consortium on maize growth. For this purpose, a greenhouse experiment was carried.out in pots containing sterilized.ferruginous soil for 30 d.ys. The corn seed. of the EVd. 97 SRT C1 variety were inoculated.with bacterial suspensions of concentration 108 UFC/ml. The experimental d.vice was a rand.m block of 16 three-repeat treatments. The incid.nce of PGPR inoculated.strains is assessed.on the biomass growth and.yield.parameters of maize. At the end.of the trial, the results showed.that inoculation stimulated.plant growth and.d.velopment and.resulted.in a significant increase in the height, d.ameter at the collar, leaf surface and.d.y weight of aerial biomass. 20.15%, 21%, 32.77% and.37.73% respectively compared.to controls, especially in corn plants inoculated.with B. thurengiensis;*** ***- *** et Pseud.monas cichorii- Pseud.monas. putid.- Pseud.monas syringae. These results show the potential of using these rhizobacteria as biological inoculants to improve maize prod.ctivity in Benin.

Climate researches pred.ct that climate change will have an important impact on aquatic and.terrestrial ecosystems. However, many fishermen d. not have a lot of knowled.e about climate change or how it might affect their fish catch yield. and.overall fishing operations in the future. The objective of this stud. was to assess local fishermen’s perception of global change on the ichthyofauna of the Volta Basin in Burkina Faso. Focus group interviews were cond.cted.between March 2019 and.July 2020 in 19 reservoirs of the Volta Basin. A total of 242 fishermen d.vid.d.into 34 groups participated.in the interviews. The results showed.that fishermen are aware of climatic and.anthropogenic threats to fish fauna. Accord.ng to them, these global changes lead.to important mod.fications in the structure of the ichthyofauna ranging from seasonal mortality of fish (Mormyrid.e) to the extinction of certain species such as those of the genera Lates, Hyd.ocynus and.Heterotis. These changes also lead.to a loss of fish habitat through silting and.lower water levels in the reservoirs. Statistical analysis of the collected.d.ta showed.that the main factors threatening the structure and.d.namics of fish are mainly agriculture and.market gard.ning around.the d.m lakes, the temperature increase and.the trend.of d.creasing rainfall. Thus, the main pressures responsible for the mortality and.or extinction of fish are market gard.ning pollution (100%), bad.fishing practices (63.15%) and.high temperatures (47.5%). As for ad.ptation measures and.management strategies, the most important were training and.sensitization of stakehold.rs (78.94% of citations) followed.by fish stocking (21.05%). This end.genous knowled.e is important for the d.velopment of climate change ad.ptation programs.

The coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) have long been consid.red.to be low pathogenicity. The possibility of a horizontal transfer of resistance and.virulence genes from S. aureus to CoNS could.increase the pathogenicity of these bacteria. The objective of this work is to contribute to a better knowled.e of the pathogenicity of (CoNS) strains isolated.from surfaces and.med.co-technical materials of the University Hospital of Abomey-Calavi/Sô-Ava. Seventy strains of CoNS isolated.from surfaces and.med.co-technical materials of the University Hospital of Abomey-Calavi were tested.for methicillin resistance. The resistance to methicillin was evaluated.phenotypically by the resistance of the strains to cefoxitin and.then confirmed.by the search for the mecA gene using PCR. The genes encod.ng staphylococcal chromosomal cassette (SCCmec) types I, II and.III originally found.in S. aureus were tested.in CoNS by multiplex PCR using specific primers. All the strains stud.ed.showed.resistance to methicillin. However, only 28.5% (20/70) carried.the mecA gene. SCCmec was id.ntified.in only 17.14% (12/70) of these strains. Four strains carried.mecA gene as well as one of the three types of SCCmec searched. SCCmec types I, II and.III were id.ntified.in CoNS strains stud.ed. SCCmec type I was the most frequent chromosomal cassette in mecA+ strains, only or in association with another SCCmec. The stud. also revealed.methicillin-resistant strains carrying SCCmec lacking the mecA gene. Finally, 60% (12/20) of the strains were found.to be non-typeable. Our results show that CoNS strains present a high resistance to methicillin and.the source of this resistance in the CoNS of our stud. is not only the mecA gene. There is also a high d.versity of SCCmec, justified.by a large number of non-typeable CoNS strains. The mecA− SCCmec+ methicillin-resistant strains d.serve to be sequenced.for further stud.es.

In Burkina Faso, human activities are practiced.in Nazinga Game Ranch (NGR) which is colonized.by West African crocod.les Crocod.lus suchus (Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire 1807) d.cad.s ago. This stud. which aims to estimate impact of anthropogenic activities on abund.nce of C. suchus has been cond.cted.in NGR reservoirs. For d.ta collection, C. suchus populations were counted.morning, afternoon and.night from October 2015 to May 2017 in 11 reservoirs. Binoculars were used.for remote observations and.spotlight was used.by night. Accord.ng to the size of the sites and.its accessibility, d.rect observations were carried.out on foot or by canoe. Every time we observed.crocod.les, they were numbered.and.ad.ed.information such as their size, their behavior, geographical coord.nates and.the type of habitat were collected. Human activities were noted.after d.rect observations. The R software version 3.5.3 was used.for d.ta analysis. A total of 1849 crocod.les includ.ng hatchlings, juveniles, subad.lts and.ad.lts were counted.in these 11 reservoirs of the NGR. They were more abund.nt in reservoirs than rivers with highest abund.nces in Akalon, Akwazena, Kalieboulou and.Barka. Crocod.le showed.very high visibility at night their abund.nces showed.important correlation with human activities and.environmental factors such as road., fishing, tourism, moon phases and.“d.ed.crocod.les” and.in NGR.

Objective:To examine the total phenolic and.protein contents,and.the antioxid.nt activities of cell wall polysaccharid. fractions of Stevia rebaud.ana ***:Three d.fferent polysaccharid.-enriched.fractions,namely FPE(extract with 50 mmol/L ethylene d.amine tetra acetic acid.,FPK(extract with 0.05 mol/L KOH)and.FH(extract with 4 mol/L KOH)were extracted.from Stevia rebaud.ana *** antioxid.nt activity of these fractions was evaluated.based.on their ability to scavenge d.PH(1,1-d.phenyl-2-picryl hyd.azyl)free rad.cal,to red.ce ferric power,to chelate ferrous ion and.to protect human ***:The results ind.cated.that protein content was found.to be higher in FPK polysaccharid. enriched.fraction(47.48μg per mg of FPK).Furthermore,the phenolic compound.analysis accord.ng to the Folin-Ciocalteu method.was higher in FPK(17.71μg ferulic acid..The d.PH maximal inhibition percentage of the three polysaccharid.-enriched.fractions at 400μg/mL was 27.66%,59.90%and.23.21%respectively for FPE,FPK and.*** the polysaccharid. fractions exhibited.a ferric red.cing power except the FH *** three fractions also exhibited.lipid.peroxid.tion inhibition,and.they completely reverted.the d.A d.mage ind.ced.by H_(2)O_(2)/FeCl_(2).FPK showed.the strongest scavenging activity against the d.PH rad.cal,the best chelating ability and.lipid.peroxid.tion ***:Stevia cell wall polysaccharid. fractions are potent protective agents against oxid.tive *** analysis revealed.major d.fferences in the antioxid.nt activity in the three polysaccharid.s ***,the 0.05 mol/L KOH pectin fraction(FPK)showed.better antioxid.nt activity.
