Therapeutic potential of urine-derived stem cells in renal regeneration following acute kidney injury:A comparative analysis with mesenchymal stem cells

BACKGROUND Cancer is one of the most serious threats to human health *** treatments such as surgery and chemotherapy are associated with some *** recent years,traditional Chinese medicine treatment has been increasingly advocated by patients and attracted attention from clinicians,and has become an indispensable part of the comprehensive treatment for gastric *** To investigate the mechanism of Xiaojianzhong decoction(XJZ)in the treatment of gastric cancer(GC)by utilizing network pharmacology and experimental validation,so as to provide a theoretical basis for later experimental *** We analyzed the mechanism and targets of XJZ in the treatment of GC through network pharmacology and ***,we verified the impact of XJZ treatment on the proliferative ability of GC cells through CCK-8,apoptosis,cell cycle,and clone formation ***,we performed Western blot analysis and real-time quantitative PCR to assess the protein and mRNA expression of the core *** XJZ mainly regulates IL6,PTGS2,CCL2,MMP9,MMP2,HMOX1,and other target genes and pathways in cancer to treat *** inhibition of cell viability,the increase of apoptosis,the blockage of the cell cycle at the G0/G1 phase,and the inhibition of the ability of cell clone formation were observed in AGS and HGC-27 cells after XJZ *** addition,XJZ induced a decrease in the mRNA expression of IL6,PTGS2,MMP9,MMP2,and CCL2,and an increase in the mRNA expression of *** significantly inhibited the expression of IL6,PTGS2,MMP9,MMP2,and CCL2 proteins and promoted the expression of the heme oxygenase-1 *** XJZ exerts therapeutic effects against GC through multiple components,multiple targets,and multiple *** findings provide a new idea and scientific basis for further research on the molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of XJZ in the treatment of GC.

Hematochezia due to rectal invasion by an internal iliac artery aneurysm: A case report

BACKGROUND This case report presents the rare occurrence of hematochezia due to an internal iliac artery aneurysm leading to an arterioenteric fistula,expanding the differential diagnosis for gastrointestinal *** emphasizes the importance of considering vascular origins in cases of atypical hematochezia,particularly in the absence of common gastrointestinal causes,and highlights the role of imaging and multidisciplinary management in diagnosing and treating such unusual *** SUMMARY A 75-year-old man with a history of hypertension presented with 12 d of hematochezia,experiencing bloody stools 7-8 times per *** computed tomography(CT)scans revealed an aneurysmal rupture near the right internal iliac artery with suspected hematoma *** levels progressively decreased to 7 g/*** arterial angiography and iliac arterycovered stent placement were performed,followed by balloon *** initial stabilization,minor rectal bleeding and abdominal pain persisted,leading to further diagnostic *** identified a neoplasm and potential perforation at the proximal *** exploratory laparotomy confirmed the presence of a hematoma and an aneurysm invading the rectal wall,necessitating partial rectal resection,intestinal anastomosis,and *** recovery was successful,with no further bleeding incidents and normal follow-up CT and colonoscopy results after six *** In cases of unusual gastrointestinal bleeding,it is necessary to consider vascular causes for effective diagnosis and intervention.

MoFLP1,encoding a novel fungal fasciclin-like protein,is involved in conidiation and pathogenicity in Magnaporthe oryzae

Fasciclin family proteins have been identified as cell adhesion molecules in various organisms. In this study, a novel Magnaporthe oryzae fasciclin-like protein encoding gene, named MoFLP1, was isolated from a subtractive suppressive cDNA library and functionally analyzed. Sequence analysis showed that the MoFLP1 gene contains an open reading frame (ORF) of 1050 nucleotides encoding 349 amino acids with a calculated molecular weight of 35.85 kDa and a pI of 7.76. The deduced MoFLP1 protein contains a 17-amino acid secretion signal sequence and an 18-amino acid sequence with the characteristics of a glycosylphosphotidylinositol (GPI) anchor additional signal at its N- and C-terminuses, respectively. Potential N-glycosylation sites and domains involving cell adhesion were also identified in MoFLP1. Sequence analysis and subcellular localization by the expression of MoFLP1-GFP fusion construct in M. oryzae indicated that the MoFLP1 protein is probably localized on the vacuole membrane. Two MoFLP1 null mutants generated by targeted gene disruption exhibited marked reduction of conidiation, conidial adhesion, appressorium turgor, and pathogenicity. Our results indicate that fasciclin proteins play important roles in fungal de-velopment and pathogenicity in M. oryzae.

The pulsar timing array(PTA)collaborations have recently reported compelling evidence for a stochastic signal consistent with a gravitational-wave *** this paper,we combine the latest data sets from NANOGrav,PPTA,and EPTA to explore cosmological interpretations for the PTA signal from first-order phase transitions,domain walls,and cosmic strings,*** find that the domain wall model is strongly disfavored with the Bayes factors compared with the first-order phase transitions and cosmic strings being 1/90 and 1/189,respectively,breaking the degeneracy among these models in individual data *** also find that:(1)a strong phase transition at temperatures below the electroweak scale is favored,and the bubble collisions make the dominant contribution to the energy density spectrum;(2)a small reconnection probability p<1.55×10^(-1)allowed by strings in(super)string theory is favored at the 95%confidence level,and ground-based detectors can further constrain the parameter space.
