The safety assessment of high-level radioactive waste repositories requires a high predictive accuracy for radionuclide diffusion and a comprehensive understanding of the diffusion *** this study,a through-diffusion method and six machine-learning methods were employed to investigate the diffusion of ReO_(4)^(−),HCrO_(4)^(−),and I−in saturated compacted bentonite under different salinities and compacted dry *** machine-learning models were trained using two *** dataset contained six input features and 293 instances obtained from the diffusion database system of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency(JAEA-DDB)and 15 *** other dataset,comprising 15,000 pseudo-instances,was produced using a multi-porosity model and contained eight input *** results indicate that the former dataset yielded a higher predictive accuracy than the *** gradient-boosting exhibited a higher prediction accuracy(R2=0.92)and lower error(MSE=0.01)than the other machine-learning *** addition,Shapley Additive Explanations,Feature Importance,and Partial Dependence Plot analysis results indicate that the rock capacity factor and compacted dry density had the two most significant effects on predicting the effective diffusion coefficient,thereby offering valuable insights.

Acquiring descriptors to guide catalyst design is an ideal but challenging topic in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. Herein, the adsorption energy of H*(Ead（H）) has been established to describe the catalytic activity of dual-active sites of single-atom metals and frustrated Lewis pairs （FLPs） on the porous nanorod of CeO2surface （M1/PN-CeO2） for reverse water-gas shift （RWGS）reaction. H2and CO2molecules are adsorbed and activated on single-atom metals and FLP sites, respectively, facilitating the RWGS reaction through the H*spillover from single-atom metals to PN-CeO2supports. Mechanistic investigations illustrate that the generation of H*on the single-atom metals and subsequent migration towards FLP are critical steps, determining the performance of M1/PN–CeO2for RWGS reaction. A volcanic correlation is observed between Ead（H） and catalytic activity of M1/PN–CeO2for RWGS. The Pt1/PN–CeO2catalysts with a minimal deviation of-0.01 eV from the experimentally optimized Ead（H） of-1.88 eV, exhibited an exceptional turnover frequency of 33,605 h-1and surpassed a turnover number of 20,000,000for each Pt active site during a period of 650 h at 600°C. These findings could pave the way for the rational design of highly active and durable catalysts for RWGS reaction.

The facile construction of nanoscale NbHxsupported by Ti3C2（NbHx@Ti3C2） was achieved using facile ball milling strategy to improve the hydrogen desorption kinetics and reversibility of magnesium borohydride (Mg（BH4）2).The doping of 30 wt%NbHx@Ti3C2catalyst reduced the onset dehydrogenation temperature of Mg（BH4）2to 71.2℃.Additionally,the Mg（BH4）2+30NbHx@Ti3C2composite achieved remarkable hydrogen release of over 9.2 wt% at a temperature as low as 230℃,indicating unexpected dehydrogenation ***,the reversibility of NbHx@Ti3C2doped Mg（BH4）2was retained to more than 4.2 wt%after four cycles,which was increased by 68% compared to that of undoped Mg（BH4）*** strong catalysis of NbHx@Ti3C2catalyst could be attributed to the synergistic effect of NbHxand Ti3C2in hydrogen spillover and *** as a??hydrogen pump??for effective hydrogen spillover,while Ti3C2created numerous diffusion channels for hydrogen dissolution and provided the active catalytic site to facilitate the re/dehydrogenation of Mg（BH4）2.

High-order nonlinear multiphoton absorption is usually inefficient,but can be enhanced by designing resonant excitations between occupied and unoccupied energy *** conducted angle-resolved multi-photon photoemission(mPPE)studies on the SnSe_(2)(001)surfaces excited by ultrashort laser *** tuning photon energy and light polarization,we demonstrate the presence of a resonant four-photon photoemission(4PPE)process involving the occupied valence band(VB),the unoccupied second conduction band(CB2)and the unoccupied image-potential state(IPs)of SnSe_(2).In this 4PPE process,VB electrons of SnSe_(2) are resonantly excited into CB2 by adsorbing two photons,followed by the adsorption of another photon to populate the n=1 IPs before being emitted out to the vacuum by adsorbing one more *** results in a double-resonant 4PPE process,which exhibits approximately a 40 times enhancement in photoemission yields compared to cases where one of the resonant pathways,CB2→IPs,is inhibited by involving a virtual state instead of the IPs in the *** double-resonant 4PPE process efficiently excite the bulk VB electrons outside the vacuum,like taking advantage of resonant“ladders”through two real empty electronic states of SnSe_(2).Our results highlight the important applications of mPPE in probing the band-structure,particularly the unoccupied states,of recently emerging main group dichalcogenide ***,the discovered resonant mPPE process contributes to the exploration of their promising optoelectronic applications.

The coastal wetlands of the Yellow River Delta(YRD)in China are crucial for their valuable resources,environmental significance,and economic ***,these wetlands are also vulnerable to the dual threats of climate change and human *** substantial attention to the historical shifts in YRD's coastal wetlands,uncertainties remain regarding their future trajectory in the face of compound risks from climate change and anthropogenic *** on a range of remote sensing data sources,this study undertakes a comprehensive investigation into the evolution of YRD's coastal wetlands between 2000 and ***,the potential fate of coastal wetlands is thoroughly analyzed through the Land Use/Cover Change(LUCC)simulation using System Dynamic-Future Land Use Simulation(SD-FLUS)model and the extreme water levels projection integrated future sea-level rise,storm surge,and astronomical high tide in 2030,2050,and 2100 under scenarios of SSP1-2.6,SSP2-4.5,and *** revealed that YRD's coastal wetlands underwent a marked reduction,shrinking by 1688.72 km²from 2000 to *** decline was mostly attributed to the substantial expansion in the areas of artificial wetlands(increasing by 823.78 km2),construction land(increasing by 767.71 km²),and shallow water(increasing by 274.58 km²).Looking ahead to 2030-2100,the fate of coastal wetlands appears to diverge based on different *** the SSP1-2.6 scenario,the area of coastal wetland is projected to experience considerable *** contrast,the SSP5-8.5 scenario anticipates a notable decrease in coastal *** to the inundated area suffered from the current extreme water levels,the study projects a decrease of 6.8%-10.6%in submerged coastal wetlands by 2030 and 9.4%-18.2%by 2050 across all *** 2100,these percentages are projected to decrease by 0.4%(SSP2-4.5)and 27.1%(SSP5-8.5),but increase by 35.7%(SSP1-2.6).Results suggest that coastal wetlands in th

Backfill mining is one of the most important technical means for controlling strata movement and reducing surface subsidence and environmental damage during exploitation of underground coal resources. Ensuring the stability of the backfill bodies is the primary prerequisite for maintaining the safety of the backfilling working face, and the loading characteristics of backfill are closely related to the deformation and subsidence of the roof. Elastic thin plate model was used to explore the non-uniform subsidence law of the roof, and then the non-uniform distribution characteristics of backfill bodies’ load were revealed. Through a self-developed non-uniform loading device combined with acoustic emission (AE) and digital image correlation (DIC) monitoring technology, the synergistic dynamic evolution law of the bearing capacity, apparent crack, and internal fracture of cemented coal gangue backfills (CCGBs) under loads with different degrees of non-uniformity was deeply explored. The results showed that: 1) The uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of CCGB increased and then decreased with an increase in the degree of non-uniformity of load (DNL). About 40% of DNL was the inflection point of DNL-UCS curve and when DNL exceeded 40%, the strength decreased in a cliff-like manner; 2) A positive correlation was observed between the AE ringing count and UCS during the loading process of the specimen, which was manifested by a higher AE ringing count of the high-strength specimen. 3) Shear cracks gradually increased and failure mode of specimens gradually changed from “X” type dominated by tension cracks to inverted “Y” type dominated by shear cracks with an increase in DNL, and the crack opening displacement at the peak stress decreased and then increased. The crack opening displacement at 40% of the DNL was the smallest. This was consistent with the judgment of crack size based on the AE b-value, i.e., it showed the typical characteristics of “small b-value-large crack and
