Potential evaluation and implementation strategy for pocket park construction in high-density urban areas: A case study in Dalian, China

As an important element of urban renewal in highly urbanized areas, pocket parks with small size, flexible layout and daily accessibility are becoming a major component of green infrastructure and the mainstay of outdoor recreation space expansion in high-density urban centers. Nevertheless, the absence of a comprehensive framework for evaluating the potential of pocket park construction (PPC), one that integrates diverse influencing factors on a macro scale, has resulted in the random installation of such spaces, often failing to optimize the utilization of urban land. Addressing this critical lacuna, we propose an approach to evaluate PPC potential from a city-scale perspective, which is used to support the determination of which land units should be prioritized for PPC. A complete and feasible workflow was also established to identify potential land units, construct an index system for PPC combining demand and supply levels, quantitatively calculate indices based on remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS), accurately evaluate PPC potential using an entropy-weighted TOPSIS model, and develop targeted renewal strategies. A case study in Dalian, China, demonstrated the applicability and implications of the workflow. The results showed that it is flexible and easy to adapt to different local contexts, allowing evaluators to introduce parameters considering the availability of local data, and will help decision makers to build pocket parks in the most effective plots, providing a strong reference for high-quality development in other high-density urban centers facing the contradiction between ecological construction and land scarcity.

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) and hybrid capacitors(SIHCs) have garnered significant attention in energy storage due to their inherent advantages,including high energy density,cost-effectiveness,and enhanced ***,developing high-performance anode materials to improve sodium storage performa nce still remains a major ***,a facile one-pot method has been developed to fabricate a hybrid of MoSeTe nanosheets implanted within the N,F co-doped honeycomb carbon skeleton(MoSeTe/N,F@C).Experimental results demonstrate that the incorporation of large-sized Te atoms into MoSeTe nanosheets enlarges the layer spacing and creates abundant anion vacancies,which effectively facilitate the insertion/extraction of Na^(+) and provide numerous ion adsorption sites for rapid surface capacitive ***,the heteroatoms N,F co-doped honeycomb carbon skeleton with a highly conductive network can restrain the volume expansion and boost reaction kinetics within the *** anticipated,the MoSeTe/N,F@C anode exhibits high reversible capacities along with exceptional cycle *** coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)@C(NVPF@C) to form SIB full cells,the anode delivers a reversible specific capacity of 126 mA h g^(-1) after 100 cycles at 0.1 A g^(-1).Furthermore,when combined with AC to form SIHC full cells,the anode demonstrates excellent cycling stability with a reversible specific capacity of50 mA h g^(-1) keeping over 3700 cycles at 1.0 A g^(-1).In situ XRD,ex situ TEM characterization,and theoretical calculations(DFT) further confirm the reversibility of sodium storage in MoSeTe/N,F@C anode materials during electrochemical reactions,highlighting their potential for widespread practical *** work provides new insights into the promising utilization of advanced transition metal dichalcogenides as anode materials for Na^(+)-based energy storage devices.

3,4-Dihydroisoquinoline(DHIQ)is an important precursor used in the production of drugs for treating cancer,HIV,Alzheimer's disease,*** studies on DHIQ synthesis show low catalytic selectivity due to the susceptible over-oxidation feedstock of1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline(THIQ),which often requires alkali ***,it is desirable yet challenging to explore a highly selective and efficient oxydehydrogenation capacity for DHIQ synthesis under eco-friendly reaction ***,a novel framework 1 was synthesized,exhibiting 1D channels with the size of 4.6 A×9.6 A and high solvent/p H/thermal stability.A stable framework allows it to encapsulate Cu nanoparticles(NPs)to form Cu NPs@1-x(x=1,2,3,and 4)with varying loading amounts of Cu NPs at 2.0 wt%,3.0 wt%,4.0 wt%,and 6.0 wt%,*** NPs@1-3 could selectively catalyze the reaction from THIQ to DHIQ with a high selectivity of 98%and a recorded turnover frequency(TOF)of 22.1 h-1under eco-friendly mild *** corresponding catalytic activity can maintain at least five recyclings and can be further applied to gram-scale ***,the efficient preparation of DHIQ catalyzed by Cu NPs@1-3 could be realized even under air ***,the anticancer molecule precursor synthesis of 6,7-dimethoxy-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline was also selectively catalyzed by Cu NPs@*** investigations revealed that high catalytic performance can be attributed to the stable framework and the synergistic catalytic effect of the loaded Cu NPs and Co metal *** importantly,this work represents the first example of MOF catalysts for selectively thermo-catalytic DHIQ synthesis and demonstrates a simple approach to obtain efficient catalysts for selective oxydehydrogenation in the production of unsaturated compounds.

Urban heat stress profoundly affects the health of ***,current research primarily focuses on quantifying the risk of urban heat based on LST,Ta,etc.,overlooking the crucial and intimate influence of continuous intense solar radiation on human thermal comfort and ***,there is a lack of smaller units to support more precise *** study utilized the radiant heat stress intensity(RHSI)metric concentrating on the intensity and duration of thermal radiation,to develop a thermal-radiation induced health risk(TIHR)assessment *** technologies such as the SOLWEIG model,Python,BERT,and GIS enables precise calculations of 12 spatial indices,including RHSI and Weibo *** facilitates a more accurate assessment of health risks at the smallest urban units(blocks)and directly guides *** application of this workflow in the case of Suoyuwan,Dalian,China,confirms its value,as it can be used to determine which blocks should be prioritized for specific aspects of risk prevention and *** results show that some blocks exhibited differences in TIHR even within close proximity,with disaster-causing factors varying according to *** study proposes a novel assessment framework based on the interactive perspective of thermal radiation-human-activity-space.

LZ91 Mg-Li alloy plates with three types of initial texture were rolled by 70%reduction at both room temperature and 200℃to explore the rolling texture formation ofα-Mg *** results showed that the rolling texture is largely affected by the initial *** the samples exhibited two main texture components as RD-split double peaks texture and TD-split double peaks texture after large strain *** intensity of the two texture components was strongly influenced by the initial orientation and rolling *** twinning altered the large-split non-basal orientation to a near basal one at low rolling *** basal orientation induced by twinning is unstable,which finally transmitted to the RD-split *** strong TD-split texture formed due to slip-induced orientation transition from its initial *** competition between prismaticaand basal slip determined the intensity and tilt angle of the TD-split *** increasing the rolling temperature,the TD-split texture component was enhanced in all three *** of extension twinning behavior and the promotion of prismatic slip at elevated temperature are the main reasons for the difference in hot and cold rolling texture.

Mitochondrial transplantation confers protection against the effects of ischemic stroke by repressing microglial pyroptosis and promoting neurogenesis

Transferring healthy and functional mitochondria to the lateral ventricles confers neuroprotection in a rat model of ischemia-reperfusion injury. Autologous mitochondrial transplantation is also beneficial in pediatric patients with cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury. Thus, transplantation of functional exogenous mitochondria may be a promising therapeutic approach for ischemic disease. To explore the neuroprotective effect of mitochondria transplantation and determine the underlying mechanism in ischemic stroke, in this study we established a photo-thrombosis-induced mouse model of focal ischemia and administered freshly isolated mitochondria via the tail vein or to the injury site(in situ). Animal behavior tests, immunofluorescence staining, 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) staining, mRNA-seq, and western blotting were used to assess mouse anxiety and memory, cortical infarct area, pyroptosis, and neurogenesis, respectively. Using bioinformatics analysis, western blotting, co-immunoprecipitation, and mass spectroscopy, we identified S100 calcium binding protein A9(S100A9) as a potential regulator of mitochondrial function and determined its possible interacting proteins. Interactions between exogenous and endogenous mitochondria, as well as the effect of exogenous mitochondria on recipient microglia, were assessed in vitro. Our data showed that:(1) mitochondrial transplantation markedly reduced mortality and improved emotional and cognitive function, as well as reducing infarct area, inhibiting pyroptosis, and promoting cortical neurogenesis;(2) microglial expression of S100A9 was markedly increased by ischemic injury and regulated mitochondrial function;(3) in vitro, exogenous mitochondria enhanced mitochondrial function, reduced redox stress, and regulated microglial polarization and pyroptosis by fusing with endogenous mitochondria; and(4) S100A9 promoted internalization of exogenous mitochondria by the microglia, thereby amplifying their pro-prolifera

Neutron-skin thickness is a key parameter for a neutron-rich nucleus;however,it is difficult to *** the framework of the Lanzhou Quantum Molecular Dynamics(LQMD)model,a possible probe for the neutron-skin thickness(δ_(np))of neutron-rich ^(48)Ca was studied in the 140A MeV ^(48)Ca+^(9)Be projectile fragmentation reaction based on the parallel momentum distribution(p∥)of the residual fragments.A Fermi-type density distribution was employed to initiate the neutron density distributions in the LQMD simulations.A combined Gaussian function with different width parameters for the left side(Γ_(L))and the right side(Γ_(R))in the distribution was used to describe the p∥of the residual *** neutron-rich sulfur isotopes as examples,Γ_(L) shows a sensitive correlation withδ_(np) of ^(48)Ca,and is proposed as a probe for determining the neutron skin thickness of the projectile nucleus.

Monkeypox(mpox)outbreak in 2022 has caused more than 91,000 cases,has spread to 115 countries,regions,and territories,and has thus attracted much *** stability of poxvirus particles in the environment is recognized as an important factor in determining their ***,few studies have investigated the persistence of poxviruses on material surfaces under various environmental conditions,and their sensitivity to ***,we systematically measured the stability of vaccinia virus(VACV)under different environmental conditions and sensitivity to inactivation methods via plaque assay,quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction(qPCR),and Gaussia luciferase(G‐luciferase)reporter *** results show that VACV is stable on the surface of stainless steel,glass,clothing,plastic,towel,A4 paper,and tissue and persists much longer at 4℃ and?20℃,but is effectively inactivated by ultraviolet(UV)irradiation,heat treatment,and chemical *** study raises the awareness of long persistence of poxviruses in the environment and provides a simple solution to inactivate poxviruses using common disinfectants,which is expected to help the control and prevention of mpox virus and future poxvirus outbreaks.

In plants,the lysine and histidine transporter(LHT)family represent a class of proteins that mediate the uptake,translocation,and utilization of amino *** tea plant(Camellia sinensis)is a perennial evergreen with a relatively high level of amino ***,systematic identification and molecular characterization of the LHT gene family has rarely been reported in tea *** this study,22 CsLHTs were identified from the‘Shuchazao’genome and classified into two *** modeled three-dimensional structure and the conserved domains presented a high similarity among the LHTs ***,it was predicted that a few genes were conserved through the analysis of the physiochemical characters,structures and cis-elements in *** expression patterns in tea plants revealed that CsLHT7 was mainly expressed in the roots,and CsLHT4 and CsLHT11 exhibited relatively high expression in both the roots and ***,the expression of all three genes could be induced by organic ***,heterogeneous expression of CsLHT4,CsLHT7 and CsLHT11 in Arabidopsis thaliana decreased the aerial parts biomass compared with that in WT plants while significantly increased the rosette biomass only for CsLHT11transgenic plants versus WT ***,our results provide fundamental information about CsLHTs and potential genes in N utilization for further analysis in tea plants.
