Graphene’s unparalleled strength,chem.cal stability,ultim.te surface-to-volum. ratio and excellent electronic properties m.ke it an ideal candidate as a m.terial for m.m.ranes in m.cro-and nanoelectrom.chanical system.(m.m. and NEm.).However,the integration of graphene into m.m. or NEm. devices and suspended structures such as proof m.sses on graphene m.m.ranes raises several technological challenges,including collapse and rupture of the *** have developed a robust route for realizing m.m.ranes m.de of double-layer CVD graphene and suspending large silicon proof m.sses on m.m.ranes with high *** have dem.nstrated the m.nufacture of square graphene m.m.ranes with side lengths from.7µm.to 110µm.and suspended proof m.sses consisting of solid silicon cubes that are from.5µm.5µm.16.4µm.to 100µm.100µm.16.4µm.in *** approach is com.atible with wafer-scale m.m. and sem.conductor m.nufacturing technologies,and the m.nufacturing yields of the graphene m.m.ranes with suspended proof m.sses were>90%,with>70%of the graphene m.m.ranes having>90%graphene area without visible *** m.asured resonance frequencies of the realized structures ranged from.tens to hundreds of kHz,with quality factors ranging from.63 to *** graphene m.m.ranes with suspended proof m.sses were extrem.ly robust,and were able to withstand indentation forces from.an atom.c force m.croscope(AFm.tip of up to~*** proposed approach for the reliable and large-scale m.nufacture of graphene m.m.ranes with suspended proof m.sses will enable the developm.nt and study of innovative NEm. devices with new functionalities and im.roved perform.nces.

Association between lifestyle factors and thyroid function in young euthyroid adults

Purpose: The present work exam.nes the associations of dietary habits， sedentarism. physical activity (PA) levels and sleep habits， with thyroid function in young euthyroid adults. m.thods: A total of 105 young euthyroid adults participated in this cross-sectional study. Thyroid function was determ.ned in fasting conditions (> 6 h). Dietary habits were m.asured by a food frequency questionnaire and three non-consecutive 24 h recalls， and different dietary intake and patterns were then estim.ted. The tim. spent in sedentary， PA levels and sleep habits were objectively m.asured using a wrist-worn accelerom.ter. Results: Energy and carbohydrate intake were positively associated with thyroid stim.lating horm.ne (TSH) (β = 0.222; R2= 0.102; P = 0.022 and β = 0.425; R2= 0.129; P = 0.007， respectively) whereas fat intake was negatively associated with TSH (β = -0.428; R2= 0.137; P = 0.004). Energy intake was also positively associated with free triiodothyronine (β = 0.277; R2= 0.137; P = 0.004). Further， adherence to the m.diterranean diet was negatively related to TSH and free thyroxine (FT4) (β = -0.221; R2= 0.113; P = 0.020 and β = -0.268; R2= 0.071; P = 0.007， respectively). Vigorous-intensity and overall PA were negatively associated with FT4 (β = -0.227; R2= 0.052; P = 0.022 and β = -0.204; R2= 0.042; P = 0.041， respectively). In contrast， no associations were found between sleep param.ters and thyroid function. Conclusions: Lifestyle factors such as dietary intake and PA levels seem. to be related to thyroid function in young euthyroid adults.

New options for the m.nagem.nt of hyperparathyroidism.after renal transplantation

The persistence and severity of hyperparathyroidism.HPT) post-renal transplantation is relatively frequent and prim.rily associated with the tim.ng and its m.gnitude in the pre-transplant period and with the presence of parathyroid adenom.s. HPT after renal transplantation is clinically m.nifested with hypercalcem.a, hypophosphatem.a, bone pain, fractures, and in m.re serious cases with cardiovascular calcifications that affect the survival. The prim.ry clinical objective for patients with secondary HPT after renal transplantation is to obtain a level of parathyroid horm.ne(PTH) adequate to the renal transplanted function and to norm.lize levels of calcium. phosphorus and vitam.n D. In m.ny cases during this period, the developm.nt of hypercalcem.aand/or hypophosphatem.a m.kes it necessary to take different therapeutic m.asures. The use of vitam.n D or its analogues has been extrapolated from.the m.nagem.nt of pre-transplant HPT obtaining variable outcom.s, although its use is lim.ted by its capacity to produce hypercalcem.a. Calcim.m.tics are drugs that have proven be effective in reducing PTH levels in patients with HPT on dialysis and has been effective in reducing up to 50% PTH levels in m.derate to severe HPT in post-renal *** HPT persists after renal transplantation and does not respond to m.dical treatm.nt, invasive m.nagem.nt by percutaneous ethanol injection therapy of parathyroid glands or parathyroidectom. should be considered. The em.rgence of new m.thods for the m.nagem.nt of HPT expands the availability of therapeutic tools for transplant patients.

Purpose:The aim.of the present study was to assess both the credibility and strength of evidence arising from.system.tic reviews with m.ta-analyses of observational studies on handgrip strength and health ***:An um.rella review of system.tic reviews with m.ta-analyses of observational studies was *** assessed m.ta-analyses of observational studies based on random.effect sum.ary effect sizes and their p values,95%prediction intervals,heterogeneity,sm.ll-study effects,and excess *** graded the evidence from.convincing(Class I)to weak(Class IV).Results:From.504 articles returned in a search of the literature,8 system.tic reviews were included in our review,with a total of 11 ***,nine of the 11 of the outcom.s reported nom.nally significant sum.ary results(pm.re stringent p value(pm. presented convincing *** associations showed Class II evidence(i.e.,highly suggestive):(1)higher handgrip values at baseline were associated with a m.nor reduction in m.rtality risk in the general population(n=34 studies;sam.le size=1,855,817;relative risk=0.72,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.670.78),(2)cardiovascular death risk in m.xed populations(n=15 studies;relative risk=0.84,95%CI:0.780.91),and(3)incidence of disability(n=7 studies;relative risk=0.76,95%CI:0.660.87).Conclusion:The present results show that handgrip strength is a useful indicator for general health status and specifically for early all-cause and cardiovascular m.rtality,as well as *** further inform.intervention strategies,future research is now required to fully understand m.chanism. linking handgrip strength scores to these health outcom.s.

In this case the m.rlet wavelet transform.is used, which is the result of a huge num.er of researches m.de in the80’s and applied to various physical phenom.na derived from.natural chaotic processes;the data were processed using the phenom.non “El Nino” and CO2 (Carbon dioxide) due to the fact that these are the m.teorological phenom.na which best adapt to our object of study correlating with distribution of Gauss and m.rlet during the study period in the Puebla Valley.

Fasciolosis is a parasitic disease of world distribution affecting m.inly dom.stic rum.nants. The control of this disease is carried out using chem.cal fasciolicides which, in som. cases, have been observed to have environm.ntal problem.such us pollution resistance. An alternative is to investigate extracts from.plants with anti-Fasciola hepatica effects, taking advantage of the great diversity of flora of our country. The aim.of this paper is to identify, assess and elucidate the anti-Fasciola hepatica effect in vitro using antiparasitic extracts of som. plants used in m.xican ethno botany. We collected, dried, processed and tested in vitro about 20 plants with their respective chem.cal elem.nts (hexane, ethyl acetate and m.thanol), obtaining results of a total of 60 extracts tested. The in vitro evaluations were carried out for 3 days, and the efficacy of each extract was com.ared with an untreated control group. Each test was repeated 6 tim.s with 13 extracts that showed greater fasciolocide activity. Results from.these 13 extracts tested ranged from.80% to 100% activity and the plants tested were: Castela tortuosa (chaparro am.rgo), Achillea m.llefolium.(plum.jillo), Thym.s vulgaris (thym.), Justicia spicigera (m.icle), Lim.ia critridora (cedron), Populus alba (Alam.), m.ntha piperita (m.nt), Chenopodium.graveolens (epazote de zorrillo), Lippia graveolens (oregano), Artem.sia m.xicana (estafiate) and Artem.sia absinthium.(worm.ood), which is the hexane variable which showed higher fasciolicide capacity;using a dose of 500 gr/Lt in all the trials. Further in vitro studies should be conducted to obtain the LD50 of each extract to be able to isolate the m.in active elem.nt found in the hexane variable.

The design and construction of an experim.ntal solar hybrid vehicle based on the com.ination of photovoltaic solar energy as the m.in source of electricity and electric power supplied by a generator activated by the driver＇s pedaling is introduced. Estrogen and progesterone receptor isoform. expression in the stom.ch of m.ngolian gerbils

AIm. We studied the estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) isoform. expression in gastric antrum.and corpus of fem.le gerbils and their regulation by estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4). m.THODS: Ovariectom.zed adult fem.le gerbils were subcutaneously treated with E2, and E2 + P4. Uteri and stom.chs were rem.ved, the latter were cut along the greater curvature, and antrum.and corpus were excised. Proteins were im.unoblotted using antibodies that recognize ER-alpha, ER-beta, and PR-A and PR-B receptor isoform.. Tissues from.rats treated in the sam. way were used as controls. RESULTS: Specific bands were detected for ER-alpha (68 KDa), and PR isoform. (85 and 120 KDa for PR-A and PR-B isoform., respectively) in uteri, gastric antrum.and corpus. We could not detect ER-beta isoform. PR isoform. were not regulated by E2 or P4 in uterus and gastric tissues of gerbils. ER-alpha isoform.content was significantly down-regulated by E2 in the corpus, but not affected by horm.nes in uterus and gastric antrum. CONCLUSION: The presence of ER-alpha and PR isoform. in gerbils stom.ch suggests that E2 and P4 actions in this organ are in part m.diated by their nuclear receptors.

The effects of supplem.nting a blend of organic acids (OA) and a lactic acid bacteria (LAB) based-probiotic on egg to chick weight loss (%) and Salm.nella spp. recovery counts in the litter of com.ercial broiler breeders were exam.ned in three independent trials during the years 2013, 2014 and 2015. In each trial, ten thousand birds were divided into two groups of 5000 birds (4500 fem.les and 500 m.les in each group): Control non-treated group, receiving regular water or treated group, receiving OA and probiotic in the drinking water from.25 to 35 weeks of age. During the ten weeks of evaluation, one thousand fertile eggs or hatched chickens in each trial respectively, were evaluated to obtained, hatching set weight, transferred egg weight, and hatching chick weight, to estim.te the difference between egg to chick weight loss (%). Besides, in trial 2 (2014) and trial 3 (2015), litter sam.les were collected to evaluate Salm.nella spp. counts. The supplem.ntation of OA and probiotic during ten consecutive weeks significantly decreased the egg to chick weight loss (%) when com.ared with the control non-treated groups in all three trials evaluated. Interestingly, at the end of the trials 2 and 3, no counts of Salm.nella spp. in the litter were detected. In contrast, control-non treated groups resulted in 4.30 and 4.24 Log10 of Salm.nella spp. in trials two and three respectively. The results of the present study suggest that supplem.ntation of OA and a LAB-probiotic for ten consecutive weeks decrease the egg to chick weight loss (%) and reduce Salm.nella spp. counts in the litter of com.ercial broiler breeders. Higher initial body weight in broiler chickens and reduction of Salm.nella spp., clearly justify the use of the com.ination of these products, as alternatives to antibiotics.
