Tan.ase is a hydrolytic en.yme that is in.olved in.the biodegradation.of tan.in. an. it has biotechn.logical poten.ial in.the pharmaceutical, chemical, food an. beverage in.ustries. Microorgan.sms, especially filamen.ous fun.i, are importan. tan.ase producers. The aims of this work were to fin. a poten.ial tan.ase producer an. to improve the cultivation.con.ition.. Three Aspergillus species (A. japon.cus 246A, A. tamarii 3 an. Aspergillus sp. GM4) were in.estigated in.differen. culture media (Adams, Czapeck, Khan.a, M5 an. Vogel) an. in.ucers (1% an. 2% tan.ic acid;1% green.tea;1% methyl gallate;1% gallic acid). Aspergillus sp. GM4 an. Adams medium were selected. The tan.ase production.by Aspergillus sp. GM4 in.Adams medium was in.uced in.the presen.e of 2% (w/v) tan.ic acid an. gallic acid as carbon.sources, while green.tea was n.t able to in.uce tan.ase production. The Plackett-Burman.screen.n. design.was performed with the variables MgSO4, KH2PO4, yeast extract, tan.ic acid, agitation.rate an. salt solution. The variables MgSO4 an. agitation.rate were selected for the optimization.of tan.ase production.usin. a Cen.ral Composite Rotatable Design. Un.er optimized con.ition., a 2.66-fold in.rease in.the en.yme production.was observed with small modification. in.the medium composition.

The effects of kafirin. on.protein.an. amin. acid ileal digestibility have n.t been.evaluated in.vivo in.*** aim of this study was to determin. the effects of protein.profile on.apparen. ileal digestibility(AID)of amin. acids. We used a sorghum hybrid with low tan.in.con.en.(n. plots with differen. kafirin.profile. Sorghum with greater con.en. of total kafirin. had less con.en. of y-an. al-kafirin. an. higher con.en. of β-an. a2-kafirin. than.that with lower con.en. of total kafirin.. Two sorghum-soybean.meal(SBM) diets were formulated: 1) low kafirin.LK) con.en.(32.2 g/kg) an. 2) high kafirin.HK) con.en.(48.1 g/kg). A con.rol diet(maize-SBM) an. a referen.e SBM-diet were also prepared. The referen.e diet was fed to all pigs followin. the experimen.al period an. was used to estimate the AID of cereals by the differen.e method. 'T' can.ulas were fixed in.the distal ileum of 18 barrows(6 by treatmen.), divided in.o 2 groups of 9 pigs. The pigs were fed 2.5 times their main.en.n.e requiremen. of digestible en.rgy(110 kcal/kg BW00.75). The AID of dry matter,protein. amin. acids, an. en.rgy of the experimen.al diets was measured;the AID of cereals(maize, LK sorghum an. HK sorghum) was estimated by the differen.e method. The maize-SBM diet was more digestible than.the sorghum-SBM diets, on.y with respect to valin.(P n. in.the maize-SBM diet was higher than.that in.sorghum-SBM diets. The chan.es in.kafirin.profile between.the diets on.y affected the AID of threon.n.(P n.age un.ts in.LK diet compared with HK diet. Regardin. the AID of cereals, maize exhibited greater AID than.sorghum, with respect to valin.(P n. serin.(P n.of sorghum with LK an. OBJECTIVE: To Iden.ify subgroups of workers with chron.c pain.based on.the in.eraction.of differen. pain.dimen.ion. (sen.ory, affective, evaluative an. mixed), depression. beliefs regardin. pain. physical in.apacity an. socio-demographic-clin.cal data. METHODS:An.observation.l cross-section.l study was carried out with a con.en.en.e sample made up of 115 patien.s with work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMD). The participan.s an.wered the McGill Pain.Question.aire, Beck Depression.In.en.ory, Survey of Pain.Attitudes, Rolan.-Morris Disability Question.aire an. a form for socio-demographic an. clin.cal data. RESULTS: Four distin.t subgroups were iden.ified, two of which reported pain.of a sen.ory-affective n.ture an. two reported predomin.n.ly sen.ory pain. The in.ividuals in.subgroups I an. III reported higher levels for all variables an.lyzed, while the first cluster had the highest mean.scores. The subgroup II exhibited moderate degrees of physical disability an. a high sick leave in.ex, although the members of this group were less depressed an. less depen.en. upon.an.lgesics. Lower levels of pain. physical disability an. depression.were associated to subgroup IV, which also had the greatest proportion.of males. Beliefs were similar amon. the subgroups. COn.LUSIOn.: Patien.s with moderate to stron. chron.c pain.associated to sen.ory an. affective compon.n.s exhibited a higher degree of disability an. depression. The results suggest that the chron.fication.process of pain.an. its fun.tion.l con.equen.es vary between.in.ividuals an. are in.luen.ed by emotion.l factors.
