The previous study conducted by Li(2022)demonstrates that the Goda graph can be adequately represented by a solitary-wave-like form across the entire range of relative water depth,with the exception of the extremely shallow ***,it remains uncertain whether this form is equally effective when applied to test data generated by irregular waves,as the Goda graph was initially developed based on overtopping data from regular wave ***,it is unclear whether this form is suitable for formulating overtopping discharge at composite vertical *** order to address these questions,a 2D overtopping experiment was conducted,incorporating both simple and composite types of vertical walls,with various relative water depths across the entire range,excluding the extremely shallow zone.A novel analysis procedure was developed,which proved to be highly productive and can be considered a general method for data ***,the study yielded two conclusions:(1)the solitary-wave-like form is remarkably effective in formulating overtopping test data generated by irregular waves,regardless of whether the vertical wall is simple or composite,and(2)the resulting formulas exhibit definitely better performance compared with existing formulas.

BACKGROUND Heart failure is a health burden responsible for high morbidity and mortality worldwide, and dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM) is one of the most common causes of heart failure. DCM is a disease of the heart muscle and is characterized by enlargement and dilation of at least one ventricle alongside impaired contractility with left ventricular ejection fraction < 40%. It is also associated with abnormalities in cytoskeletal proteins, mitochondrial ATP transporter, microvasculature, and fibrosis. However, the pathogenesis and potential biomarkers of DCM remain to be *** To investigate the candidate genes and pathways involved in DCM *** Two expression datasets(GSE3585 and GSE5406) were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. The differentially expressed genes(DEGs) between the DCM patients and healthy individuals were identified using the R package “linear models for microarray data.” The pathways with common DEGs were analyzed via Gene Ontology(GO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG), and gene set enrichment analyses. Moreover, a protein-protein interaction network(PPI) was constructed to identify the hub genes and modules. The MicroRNA Database was applied to predict the microRNAs(miRNAs) targeting the hub genes. Additionally, immune cell infiltration in DCM was analyzed using *** In total, 97 DEGs(47 upregulated and 50 downregulated) were identified. GO analysis showed that the DEGs were mainly enriched in “response to growth factor,” “extracellular matrix,” and “extracellular matrix structural constituent.” KEGG pathway analysis indicated that the DEGs were mainly enriched in “protein digestion and absorption” and “interleukin 17(IL-17) signaling pathway.” The PPI network suggested that collagen type Ⅲ alpha 1 chain(COL3A1) and COL1A2 contribute to the pathogenesis of DCM. Gas flexible pipes are critical multi-layered equipment for offshore oil and gas development. Under high pressure conditions, small molecular components of natural gas dissolve into the polymer inner liner of the flexible pipes and further diffuse into the annular space, incurring annular pressure build-up and/or production of acidic environment, which poses serious challenges to the structure and integrity of the flexible pipes. Gas permeation in pipes is a complex phenomenon governed by various factors such as internal pressure and temperature, annular structure, external temperature. In a long-distance gas flexible pipe, moreover, gas permeation exhibits non-uniform features, and the gas permeated into the annular space flows along the metal gap. To assess the complex gas transport behavior in long-distance gas flexible pipes, a mathematical model is established in this paper considering the multiphase flow phenomena inside the flexible pipes, the diffusion of gas in the inner liner, and the gas seepage in the annular space under varying permeable properties of the annulus. In addition, the effect of a variable temperature is accounted. A numerical calculation method is accordingly constructed to solve the coupling mathematical equations. The annular permeability was shown to significantly influence the distribution of annular pressure. As permeability increases, the annular pressure tends to become more uniform, and the annular pressure at the wellhead rises more rapidly. After annular pressure relief followed by shut-in, the pressure increase follows a convex function. By simulating the pressure recovery pattern after pressure relief and comparing it with test results, we deduce that the annular permeability lies between 123 and 512 m D. The results help shed light upon assessing the annular pressure in long distance gas flexible pipes and thus ensure the security of gas transport in the emerging development of offshore resources.

The identification of dominant driving factors for different ecosystem services(ESs)is crucial for ecological conservation and sustainable ***,the spatial heterogeneity of the dominant driving factors affecting various ESs has not been adequately elucidated,particularly in ecologically fragile *** study employed the integrated valuation of ESs and trade-offs(InVEST)model to evaluate four ESs,namely,water yield(WY),soil conservation(SC),habitat quality(HQ),and carbon storage(CS),and then to identify the dominant driving factors of spatiotemporal differentiation of ES and further to characterize the spatial heterogeneity characteristics of the dominant driving factors in the eco-fragile areas of the upper Yellow River,China from 2000 to *** results demonstrated that WY exhibited northeast-high and northwest-low patterns in the upper Yellow River region,while high values of SC and CS were distributed in central forested areas and a high value of HQ was distributed in vast grassland *** CS,WY,and SC exhibited decreasing trends over *** most critical factors affecting WY,SC,HQ,and CS were the actual evapotranspiration,precipitation,slope,and normalized difference vegetation index,*** addition,the effects of different factors on various ESs exhibited spatial *** results could provide spatial decision support for eco-protection and rehabilitation in ecologically fragile areas.

Aggregate-induced emission luminogens(AIEgens) have been widely used in biological imaging, chemical sensing, and disease treatments. The rational design and construction of AIEgens have received considerable research interests during the last few years. Herein, molecular docking-aided AIEgen design has been reasonably proposed and AIEgen TBQZY with excellent ~1O_(2) generation ability has been synthesized. The newly developed TBQZY could efficiently kill S. epidermidis and methicillinresistant S. epidermidis(MRSE) by tightly binding to bacteria and triggering the accumulation of ~1O_(2) in bacteria. TBQZY specifically regulated the immune system and polarized macrophages from M1 to M2 to accelerate the elimination of biofilm in vivo. In addition, healing acceleration was observed in chronic wounds treated with TBQZY, and side effects were ***, TBQZY had extraordinary potential for combating drug-resistant bacteria in the clinical setting. This research not only provided new concepts for the design of AIEgens, but also shed some lights on the discovery of drugs against drug-resistant bacteria.

This paper proposes a novel automatic change detection approach for single band multi-temporal remote sensing images (MTRSI). First, the difference image is constructed by combining the spatial neighborhood information with the improved multiplying transform fusion (MTF) technique, which can well weaken noises and eliminate the effects caused by the registration error of multi-temporal images. In the segmentation processing of the difference image, the distributions of changed and unchanged classes are fitted by Rayleigh-Gauss models (RGM) and the probability densities of changed and unchanged pixels are estimated. Then the optimal change detection threshold is calculated automatically and effectively by the improved Kittler-Illingworth (KI) threshold selection algorithm. Finally, the changed regions are extracted. The experimental results obtained on the simulated MTRSI and the real MTRSI confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed approach. In particular, the results in terms of overall error and overall detected accuracy proved that the proposed generation approach of the difference image could have better performance than the MTF technique. In addition, as expected, the RGM was proved to be more suitable than the Gauss models (GM) and the Generalized-Gauss models (GGM) to fit the distributions of changed and unchanged classes. And the change detection experiments also confirmed that the proposed automatic threshold selection method based on RGM fitting technique could achieve the very similar performance to the optimal results exhibited by the supervised manual trial and error procedure (MTEP).
