Reservoir heterogeneity controls of CO_(2)-EOR and storage potentials in residual oil zones:Insights from numerical simulations

Residual oil zones(ROZs)have large potential for CO_(2)enhanced oil recovery(EOR)and geologic *** CO_(2)injection,the migration of CO_(2)in ROZs controls the performance of both EOR and ***,it has not been clearly visualized and understood that how geological heterogeneity factors control the transport of CO_(2)in *** this study,the oil recovery performance and geologic storage potential during continuous CO_(2)injection in a representative ROZ are studied based on geostatistical modelling and high-fidelity three-phase flow *** examined the influence of autocorrelation length of permeability,global heterogeneity(DykstraeParsons coefficient),and permeability anisotropy on cumulative oil recovery and CO_(2)retention *** results indicate that,as the permeability autocorrelation length increases,the cumulative oil recovery and CO_(2)storage efficiency *** results from the accelerated migration of CO_(2)along high permeability zones(i.e.,gas channeling).The increase in global heterogeneity and permeability anisotropies can lead to low oil recovery and poor CO_(2)sequestration performance,depending on the degree of CO_(2)*** net utilization ratio of CO_(2)(CO_(2)retained/oil produced)unfavorably increases with both autocorrelation length and Dykstra eParsons coefficient,but decreases with the increase in kv/*** a decrease is attributed to enlarged swept volume induced by gravity *** study provides important implications for fieldscale CO_(2)EOR and storage applications in ROZs.

Impact wear properties of dissimilar joints between bainitic frogs and pearlite rails

The impact wear behavior and damage mechanism of dissimilar welded joints between U26Mn frog and U75 V rail before and after normalizing treatment were studied by cyclic impact *** experiment indicated that the impact wear volume of the joints increased with the increasing number of impact *** main wear mechanisms include pitting wear,mild fatigue wear,delamination wear,and fatigue wear,and plastic deformation was the primary impact wear *** them,fatigue wear had the greatest influence on wear volume,while other wear mechanisms had limited *** impact wear resistance of the base material was better than that of the heat-affected *** treatment was beneficial to improving the impact wear resistance of welded joints owing to its effect to promote pearlite recovery,grain refinement,and uniform distribution of *** martensite generated in the rail welded joints aggravated the impact wear damage to the materials,which should be avoided.

Analysis of gravity wave activity during stratospheric sudden warmings in the northern hemisphere

Due to the significant changes they bring to high latitude stratospheric temperature and wind,stratospheric sudden warmings(SSWs)can have an impact on the propagation and energy distribution of gravity waves(GWs).The variation characteristics of GWs during SSWs have always been an important *** temperature data from January to March in 2014−2016,provided by the Constellation Observing System for Meteorology,Ionosphere and Climate(COSMIC)mission,we have analyzed global GW activity at 15−40 km in the Northern Hemisphere during SSW *** the SSWs that we studied,the stratospheric temperature rose in one or two longitudinal regions in the Northern Hemisphere;the areas affected extended to the east of 90°*** these SSWs,the potential energy density(E_(p)of GWs expanded and covered a larger range of longitude and altitude,exhibiting an eastward and downward *** E_(p)usually increased,while partially filtered by the eastward zonal *** zonal winds weakened or turned westward,E_(p)began to *** SSWs,the E_(p)usually *** observations can serve as a reference for analyzing the interaction mechanism between SSWs and GWs in future work.

Construction of Naphthalenediimide Lanthanide(Ⅲ)-MOFs and Composites Incorporated Electron-Rich Pyrene Derivative as Multifunctional Fluorescence Sensing for Nitro Aromatic Compounds and Aldehydes

The development of host-guest MOF luminescent composites has attracted considerable attention. However,it is still a challenge to reasonably design large scale conjugated polycarboxylic acids metal-organic framework (MOF) and modulate donor-acceptor interaction. Herein,a series of isostructural 3D porous lanthanide MOF [Ln_(2)(BINDI)0.5(NO_(3))(DMA)(H_(2)O)]∙DMA∙2.5H_(2)O (Ln = La (1),Ce (2),Pr (3) and Nd (4);H_(4)BINDI (N,N’-bis(5-isophthalic acid)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenediimide) were synthesized. Considering the electron-deficient performances of Ln-BINDI MOFs,D-A type composites Ln-MOFs (1—4@H_(4)TBAPy) were prepared via the incorporation of electron-rich H_(4)TBAPy (1,3,6,8-tetrakis(p-benzoic acid) pyrene),which more improved the luminescence performance of complexes 1—4 and can be used as fluorescence sensors for the detection of nitro compounds and aldehydes. High sensitivity of 1@H_(4)TBAPy towards pNBA,pNA PNP,DNP,and TNP could be achieved through hydrogen bond interactions between MOF and analytes,as well as the π-π interaction between H_(4)TBAPy and the naphthalene ring of BINDI,thus the fluorescence quenching efficiency of 1@H_(4)TBAPy was better than that of the complex 1. In addition,it is found that 1@H_(4)TBAPy has high selectivity and sensitivity to aromatic aldehyde SA,5-Mesal and HMBA. Such strategy to enhance the emission of NDI based Ln-BINDI MOFs,will open up an avenue to obtain more fluorescent MOFs for sensing.

Influence of Vanes and Blades on Ingress in Axial Rim Seal for Turbine Stages

Hot gas ingestion refers to the phenomenon of mainstream hot gas flowing into the space cavity of a turbine *** studies have found that mainstream annulus pressure distribution plays an important role in hot gas ingestion,but due to its complexity,the mechanism of the interaction between mainstream flow and hot gas ingestion remains *** paper adopts the URANS method,and three sealing flow rates are considered,named C_(w)=0,C_(w)=500,and C_(w)=*** time-averaged annulus pressure distribution shows that an increase in the sealing flow decreases the pressure value,and the effects of the sealing flow on the pressure distribution of the leading edge of the blade are much more influential than that of the trailing edge of the *** unsteady pressure time-space distribution in the annulus indicates that a time-space tilted distribution of pressure at the rim exits when the sealing flow *** phenomenon is mainly due to the strong feedback mechanism of the sealing flow to the annulus pressure field.A comparison of the pressure and mean radial velocity distribution of the mainstream shows that the ingestion mainly occurs on the blade side,where the pressure is lower than on the vane *** flow characteristics at the wheel rim are analyzed with a sealing flow rate C_(w)=5000,and under these conditions,both pressure-induced ingestion and ingestion caused by a passage vortex can be *** three-dimensional and inertial effects of the mainstream at the wheel rim lead to the generation of separation vortices on the blade side,and the presence of separation vortices leads to ingestion along the blade *** the same time,pressure on the blade side will cause the fluid to have a radial inward flow tendency,which will promote the formation of separation vortices,leading to more serious ingestion in the high-pressure region on the blade *** blade pressure field can be more significant than the vane trailing pressure field in the rim sea

Humanized immune system(HIS)mice have been developed and used as a small surrogate model to study human immune function under normal or disease *** variations are found between models,most HIS mice show robust human T cell ***,there has been unsuccessful in constructing HIS mice that produce high-affinity human antibodies,primarily due to defects in terminal B cell differentiation,antibody affinity maturation,and development of primary follicles and germinal *** this review,we elaborate on the current knowledge about and previous attempts to improve human B cell development in HIS mice,and propose a potential strategy for constructing HIS mice with improved humoral immunity by transplantation of human follicular dendritic cells(FDCs)to facilitate the development of secondary follicles.

Barium titanate(BaTiO_(3))piezoelectric ceramics with triply periodic minimal surface(TPMS)structures have been frequently used in filters,engines,artificial bones,and other fields due to their high specific surface area,high thermal stability,and good heat ***,only a limited number of studies have analyzed the effect of various parameters,such as different wall thicknesses and porosities of TPMS structures,on ceramic electromechanical *** this study,we first employed vat photopolymerization(VPP)three-dimensional(3D)printing technology to fabricate high-performance BaTiO_(3) *** investigated the slurry composition design and forming process and designed a stepwise sintering postprocessing technique to achieve a density of 96.3%and a compressive strength of 250±25 MPa,with the piezoelectric coefficient(d_(33))reaching 263 pC/***,we explored the influence of three TPMS structures,namely,diamond,gyroid,and Schwarz P,on the piezoelectric and mechanical properties of BaTiO_(3) ceramics,with the gyroid structure identified as exhibiting optimal ***,we examined the piezoelectric and mechanical properties of BaTiO_(3) ceramics with the gyroid structure of varying wall thicknesses and porosities,thus enabling the modulation of ceramic electromechanical performance.

Effect of MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3) and Mg0-MgAl_(2)0_(4)-based refractories on refractory-steel interface reaction and cleanliness of pipeline steel

The interaction of MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based and MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based refractories with X70 molten steel was studied by immersion experiments at 1560℃.The effects of immersion time(30 and 60 min)on the contents of total oxygen(TO),Al,Nb,Si,Mn,and Cr as well as the composition,number density,and size distribution of inclusions in the molten steel were *** influence of the penetration and erosion degree of the molten steel to the refractory on the steel-refractory interface layer was *** results show that,at 1560℃,the MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory can better control the contents of TO and the composition of molten steel compared with the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based *** TO content is only 16×10^(-4) wt.%in the molten steel after reacted with the Mg0-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory at the end point of refining,4 accounting for 11.5%of that reacted with the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based refractory(139×10^(-4) wt.%).The number density of inclusions is only 14 mm^(-2),and the average size ofinclusions is only 1.31μm,with thelargest proportion of inclusions in 1-2μm(70%).The Al_(2)O_(3)-MnS-CaO complex inclusions in the original steel changed to complex inclusions dominated by Cr-Nb-Mn-S-O and ***_(2)O_(3),corresponding to the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based and MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractories,*** ***_(2)O_(3) layer was formed at the reaction interface between MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory and molten steel,which is helpful to restrict the erosion of refractories and the pollution of molten *** damage mechanism of the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based refractory is mainly permeation and chemical reaction,while the damage of the MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory is mainlyscouring erosion.
