Plants that grow in extreme environments represent unique sources of stress-resistance genes and *** mongolicus(Leguminosae)is a xerophytic evergreen broadleaf shrub native to semi-arid and desert regions;however,its drought-tolerance mechanisms remain poorly ***,we report the assembly of a reference-grade genome for ***,describe its evolutionary history within the legume family,and examine its drought-tolerance *** assembled genome is 843.07 Mb in length,with 98.7%of the sequences successfully anchored to the nine chromosomes of *** genome is predicted to contain 47611 protein-coding genes,and 70.71%of the genome is composed of repetitive sequences;these are dominated by transposable elements,particularly longterminal-repeat *** analyses revealed two whole-genome duplication(WGD)events at 130 and 58 million years ago(mya)that are shared by the genus Ammopiptanthus and other legumes,but no species-specific WGDs were found within this *** genome reconstruction revealed that the *** genome has undergone fewer rearrangements than other genomes in the legume family,confirming its status as a"relict plant".Transcriptomic analyses demonstrated that genes involved in cuticular wax biosynthesis and transport are highly expressed,both under normal conditions and in response to polyethylene glycol-induced *** induction of genes related to ethylene biosynthesis and signaling was also observed in leaves under dehydration stress,suggesting that enhanced ethylene response and formation of thick waxy cuticles are two major mechanisms of drought tolerance in *** expression of AmERF2,an ethylene response factor unique to ***,can markedly increase the drought tolerance of transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana plants,demonstrating the potential for application of *** genes in crop improvement.

The counterion-mediated hydrogen bonding(CMHB)is related to the hydrogen bonding between bound counterions and polyelectrolyte chains in polyelectrolyte systems,where the counterions can both electrostatically bind to the charged groups of polyelectrolyte chains and act as hydrogen bond donors or acceptors to form hydrogen bonds with the hydrogen bond sites associated with polyelectrolyte chains simultaneously.A large number of literatures illustrate that strong polyelectrolytes(SPs)are insensitive to pH,which severely limmits the applications of SPs as smart ***,our studies have demonstrated that the CMHB makes SPs *** perspective discusses the mechanism of pH responsiveness of SPs and the pH-tunable properties of SPs,based on the pH-controlled CMHB *** future research directions on the pH responsiveness of SPs are also discussed *** is anticipated that the study of the pH responsiveness of SPs not only will provide a new understanding of the fundamental properties of SPs,but also will greatly expand the applications of SPs in the field of smart materials.

Alternating spin splitting of electronic and magnon bands in two-dimensional altermagnetic materials

TRAIL and Celastrol Combinational Treatment Suppresses Proliferation, Migration, and Invasion of Human Glioblastoma Cells via Targeting Wnt/β-catenin Signaling Pathway

Objective To investigate the mechanistic basis for the anti-proliferation and anti-invasion effect of tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-induced ligand(TRAIL)and celastrol combination treatment(TCCT)in glioblastoma *** Cell counting kit-8 was used to detect the effects of different concentrations of celastrol(0-16µmol/L)and TRAIL(0-500 ng/mL)on the cell viability of glioblastoma cells.U87 cells were randomly divided into 4 groups,namely control,TRAIL(TRAIL 100 ng/mL),Cel(celastrol 0.5µmol/L)and TCCT(TRAIL 100 ng/mL+celastrol 0.5µmol/L).Cell proliferation,migration,and invasion were detected by colony formation,wound healing,and Transwell assays,*** reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting were performed to assess the levels of epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)markers(zona occludens,N-cadherin,vimentin,zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox,Slug,and β-catenin).Wnt pathway was activated by lithium chloride(LiCl,20 mol/L)and the mechanism for action of TCCT was *** Celastrol and TRAIL synergistically inhibited the proliferation,migration,invasion,and EMT of U87 cells(P<0.01).TCCT up-regulated the expression of GSK-3β and down-regulated the expression of β-catenin and its associated proteins(P<0.05 or P<0.01),including c-Myc,Cyclin-D1,and matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-*** addition,LiCl,an activator of the Wnt signaling pathway,restored the inhibitory effects of TCCT on the expression of β-catenin and its downstream genes,as well as the migration and invasion of glioblastoma cells(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusions Celastrol and TRAIL can synergistically suppress glioblastoma cell migration,invasion,and EMT,potentially through inhibition of Wnt/β-catenin *** underlies a novel mechanism of action for TCCT as an effective therapy for glioblastoma.

AIM:To address the challenges of data labeling difficulties,data privacy,and necessary large amount of labeled data for deep learning methods in diabetic retinopathy(DR)identification,the aim of this study is to develop a source-free domain adaptation(SFDA)method for efficient and effective DR identification from unlabeled ***:A multi-SFDA method was proposed for DR *** method integrates multiple source models,which are trained from the same source domain,to generate synthetic pseudo labels for the unlabeled target ***,a softmax-consistence minimization term is utilized to minimize the intra-class distances between the source and target domains and maximize the inter-class *** is performed using three color fundus photograph datasets(APTOS2019,DDR,and EyePACS).RESULTS:The proposed model was evaluated and provided promising results with respectively 0.8917 and 0.9795 F1-scores on referable and normal/abnormal DR identification *** demonstrated effective DR identification through minimizing intra-class distances and maximizing inter-class distances between source and target ***:The multi-SFDA method provides an effective approach to overcome the challenges in DR *** method not only addresses difficulties in data labeling and privacy issues,but also reduces the need for large amounts of labeled data required by deep learning methods,making it a practical tool for early detection and preservation of vision in diabetic patients.

Experimental investigation on using CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion with high water cut in enhanced oil recovery

CO_(2) emulsions used for EOR have received a lot of interest because of its good performance on CO_(2)mobility ***,most of them have been focusing on the high quality CO_(2) emulsion(high CO_(2) fraction),while CO_(2) emulsion with high water cut has been rarely *** this paper,we carried out a comprehensive experimental study of using high water cut CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion for enhancing oil ***,a nonionic surfactant,alkyl glycosides(APG),was selected to stabilize CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion,and the corresponding morphology and stability were evaluated with a transparent PVT ***,plugging capacity and apparent viscosity of CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion were measured systematically by a sand pack displacement apparatus connected with a 1.95-m long capillary ***,a high water cut(40 vol%) CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion was selected for flooding experiments in a long sand pack and a core sample,and the oil recovery,the rate of oil recovery,and the pressure gradients were *** results indicated that APG had a good performance on emulsifying and stabilizing CO_(2) *** inversion from H_(2)O/CO_(2) emulsion to CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion with the increase in water cut was ***_(2)/H_(2)O emulsions with lower water cuts presented higher apparent viscosity,while the optimal plugging capacity of CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion occurred at a certain water ***,the displacement using CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion provided 18.98% and 13.36% additional oil recovery than that using pure CO_(2) in long sand pack and core tests,*** work may provide guidelines for EOR using CO_(2) emulsions with high water cut.

BACKGROUND Splenic rupture associated with Behçet’s syndrome(BS)is extremely rare,and there is no consensus on its *** this case report,a patient with BSassociated splenic rupture was successfully treated with splenic artery embolization(SAE)and had a good prognosis after the *** SUMMARY The patient was admitted for pain in the left upper abdominal *** was diagnosed with splenic *** oral and genital aphthous ulcers were observed,and acne scars were found on his *** had a 2-year history of BS diagnosis,with symptoms of oral and genital *** that time,he was treated with oral corticosteroids for 1 month,but the symptoms did not *** underwent SAE to treat the *** the first day after SAE,the patient reported a complete resolution of abdominal pain and was discharged 5 d *** months after the intervention,a computed tomography examination showed that the splenic hematoma had formed a stable cystic effusion,suggesting a good *** SAE might be a good choice for BS-associated splenic rupture based on good surgical practice and material selection.

Objective This study aimed to establish a neural cell injury model in vitro by stimulating PC12 cells with lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and to examine the effects of astragaloside IV on key targets using high-throughput sequence technology and bioinformatics *** PC12 cells in the logarithmic growth phase were treated with LPS at final concentrations of 0.25,0.5,0.75,1,and 1.25 mg/mL for 24 *** morphology was evaluated,and cell survival rates were calculated.A neurocyte inflammatory model was established with LPS treatment,which reached a 50%cell survival ***12 cells were treated with 0.01,0.1,1,10,or 100µmol/L astragaloside IV for 24 *** concentration of astragaloside IV that did not affect the cell survival rate was selected as the treatment group for subsequent *** activity was detected by colorimetry;the expression levels of ERCC2,XRCC4,XRCC2,TNF-α,IL-1β,TLR4,NOS and COX-2 mRNA and protein were detected by RT-qPCR and Western *** differentially expressed genes(DEGs)between the groups were screened using a second-generation sequence(fold change>2,P0.05).However,after treatment with 0.5,0.75,1,or 1.25 mg/mL LPS for 24 h,the viability steadily decreased(P<0.01).The mRNA and protein expression levels of ERCC2,XRCC4,XRCC2,TNF-α,IL-1β,TLR4,NOS,and COX-2 were significantly increased after PC12 cells were treated with 1 mg/mL LPS for 24 h(P<0.01);however,these changes were reversed when PC12 cells were pretreated with 0.01,0.1,or 1µmol/L astragaloside IV in PC12 cells and then treated with 1 mg/mL LPS for 24 h(P<0.05).Second-generation sequencing revealed that 1026 genes were upregulated,while 1287 genes were downregulat

K doping stabilizes three-dimensional K0.2Na1.3Mn0.5O2-δ as high-performance cathode for sodium-ion batteries

It is a difficult challenge to simultaneously employ the cationic and anionic redox chemistry in cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries with high *** though layered oxides （classified as two-dimensional oxides） demonstrate excellent promise in the high discharge capacity,their poor oxygen transformation via redox reactions is limited by crystal ***,a doping strategy was conceived to tackle this issue and increase redox efficiency.K doping was applied to transform the two-dimensional Na1.3Mn0.7O2（NMO） to threedimensional K0.2Na1.3Mn0.5O2（KNMO）,preventing the irreversible phase shift and preserving the crystal structure’s stability while *** this modification treatment,KNMO features manganese and oxygen reactive sites,delivering a promising energy density of 190mAh·g-1at 5 mA·g-1in the 2.0–4.5 V voltage range (vs71.4 mAh·g-1for the pristine NMO).Moreover,it displays improved capacity retention of more than 83.5% after 50cycles at 50 mA·*** results demonstrated that doped intercalation oxides were promising for redox oxygen transformation in sodium-ion batteries.
