Accurate prediction of displacements associated with deep excavations is essential to ensure safety and stability of the excavation and to prevent any damage and distress to the adjoining *** paper presents a numerical approach for prediction of ground displacements related to a zone-divided deep excavation construction executed in Shanghai soft clays based on a new elasto–plastic con-stitutive model(small-strain Shanghai model)that incorporates small strain *** model can describe the mechanical properties and structural and over-consolidated characteristics of natural *** model is implemented into a finite element analysis *** analysis on the deep excavation in Shanghai using zone-divided method is conducted.A comparison between monitored and simulated results of horizontal displacements along the diaphragm wall,the settlements in the surroundings,and the effects on the adjoin-ing metro tunnel due to excavation construction is carried *** attention is paid to the stiffness degradation of representative elements in the *** simulated displacements show a good agreement with the monitored ***,this study provides an integrated solution for predicting displacements related to deep excavation in soft clays.

Investigation of the overconsolidation and structural behavior of Shanghai clays by element testing and constitutive modeling

The mechanical properties and constitutive modeling of Shanghai clays are very important for numerical analysis on geotechnical engineering in Shanghai,where continuous layers of soft clays run 30-40 m *** clays are divided into 5 major layers.A series of laboratory tests are carried out to investigate their mechanical *** top and bottom layers are overconsolidated hard clays,and the middle layers are normally consolidated or lightly overconsolidated sensitive marine clays.A constitutive model,which can describe the overconsolidation and structure of soils using only 8 parameters,is modified to simulate the test results.A rational procedure to determine the values of the material parameters and initial conditions is also *** model is able to effectively reproduce both one-dimensional(1D)consolidation and drained/undrained triaxial test results of Shanghai clays,with one set of parameters for each *** element testing and constitutive modeling,two findings are ***,the decay rates of overconsolidation are smaller in overconsolidated layers than in normally consolidated ***,the natural microstructure of layer 4 is relatively stable,that is,a large degree of structure is still maintained in the specimen even after 1D consolidation and drained triaxial *** modified model and obtained parameter values can be used for numerical analysis of geotechnical projects in Shanghai.

Investigations of Water Flow Behaviors Induced by Local Temperature Variations through a Single Rough Fracture for the Enhanced Geothermal Systems

In recent years,Enhanced Geothermal System(EGS)technologies have been applied to the geothermal resources production in the Hot Dry Rock(HDR).The core of EGS technologies is to adopt hydraulic fracturing in the reservoir to create a connected network of discrete fractures with the consideration of water as a working fluid for hydraulic fracturing and heat *** paper investigates the characteristics of water flow behaviors through a single rough fracture under different temperature and pressure conditions.A single fracture model with rough fracture surfaces is constructed and then characterized,and influences of the anisotropic factor on the average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient of water flow through a single fracture with rough surfaces have been compared and *** consideration of other impacting factors(temperature,pressure,fracture roughness),the impact of mass flow rate has also been *** simulation results present that changes of average tortuosity for water flow through a single rough facture are mainly affected by *** can be observed that higher temperature leads to larger average tortuosity but the frictional resistance coefficient shows an opposite *** for pressure conditions,it is found that effects of pressure on average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient is very small,which can be neglected under high pressure ***,the average tortuosity shows a progressively linear relationship with the mass flow *** the contrary,the frictional resistance coefficient has a negative relationship with the mass flow *** is revealed that when the mass flow rate reaches a critical point,the influences of temperature on the frictional resistance coefficient will be *** of single rough fractures with different anisotropic factors show that values of average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient have positive relationships with the increase

Multiscale Characteristics and Connection Mechanisms of Attraction Networks:A Trajectory Data Mining Approach Leveraging Geotagged Data

Urban tourism is considered a complex system,and multiscale exploration of the organizational patterns of attraction networks has become a topical issue in urban tourism,so exploring the multiscale characteristics and connection mechanisms of attraction networks is important for understanding the linkages between attractions and even the future destination *** paper uses geotagging data to compare the links between attractions in Beijing,China during four different periods:the pre-Olympic period(2004–2007),the Olympic Games and subsequent‘heat period’(2008–2013),the post-Olympic period(2014–2019),and the COVID-19(Corona Virus Disease 2019)pandemic period(2020–2021).The aim is to better understand the evolution and patterns of attraction networks at different scales in Beijing and to provide insights for tourism planning in the *** results show that the macro,meso-,and microscales network characteristics of attraction networks have inherent logical relationships that can explain the commonalities and differences in the development process of tourism *** macroscale attraction network degree Matthew effect is significant in the four different periods and exhibits a morphological monocentric structure,suggesting that new entrants are more likely to be associated with attractions that already have high *** mesoscale links attractions according to the common purpose of tourists,and the results of the community segmentation of the attraction networks in the four different periods suggest that the functional polycentric structure describes their clustering effect,and the weak links between clusters result from attractions bound by incomplete information and distance,and the functional polycentric structure with a generally more efficient network of *** pattern structure at the microscale reveals the topological transformation relationship of the regional collaboration pattern,and the attraction network structure in the four diff

Ubiquitin-specific protease 21 promotes tumorigenicity and stemness of colorectal cancer by deubiquitinating and stabilizing ZEB1

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one very usual tumor together with higher death ***-specific protease 21(USP21)has been confirmed to take part into the regulation of CRC progression through serving as a ***,the promotive function of USP21 has also discovered in the progression of ***1 has illustrated to be modulated by USP7,USP22 and USP51 in ***,the regulatory functions of USP21 on ZEB1 in CRC progression need more *** To investigate the relationship between USP21 and ZEB1 in CRC *** The mRNA and protein expressions were assessed through RT-qPCR,western blot and IHC *** interaction between USP21 and ZEB1 was evaluated through Co-IP and GST pull down *** cell proliferation was detected through colony formation *** cell migration and invasion abilities were determined through Transwell *** stemness was tested through sphere formation *** tumor growth was evaluated through in vivo mice *** In this work,USP21 and ZEB1 exhibited higher expression in CRC,and resulted into poor ***,the interaction between USP21 and ZEB1 was further *** was demonstrated that USP21 contributed to the stability of ZEB1 through modulating ubiquitination *** addition,USP21 streng-thened cell proliferation,migration and stemness through regulating *** last,through in vivo assays,it was illustrated that USP21/ZEB1 axis aggravated tumor *** For the first time,these above findings manifested that USP21 promoted tumorigenicity and stemness of CRC by deubiquitinating and stabilizing *** discovery suggested that USP21/ZEB1 axis may provide novel sights for the treatment of CRC.

Crystalline carbon nitride with in-plane built-in electric field accelerates carrier separation for excellent photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Achieving a high carrier migration efficiency by constructing built-in electric field is one of the promising approaches for promoting photocatalytic activity. Herein, we have designed a donor-acceptor(D-A) crystalline carbon nitride(APMCN) with 4-amino-2,6-dihydroxypyrimidine(AP) as electron donor, in which the pyrimidine ring was well embedded in the heptazine ring via hydrogen-bonding effect during hydrothermal process. The APMCN shows superior charge-transfer due to giant built-in electric field(5.94times higher than pristine carbon nitride), thereby exhibiting excellent photocatalytic H_(2) evolution rate(1350 μmol/h) with a high AQY(62.8%) at 400 nm. Mechanistic analysis based on detailed experimental investigation together with theoretical analysis reveals that the excellent photocatalytic activity is attributed to the promoted charge separation by the giant internal electric field originated from the D–A structure.

Low-temperature NH_(3) abatement via selective oxidation over a supported copper catalyst with high Cu^(+) abundance

Selective catalytic NH_(3)-to-N_(2) oxidation(NH_(3)-SCO)is highly promising for abating NH_(3) emissions slipped from stationary flue gas after-treatment *** practical application,however,is limited by the non-availability of low-cost catalysts with high activity and N_(2) ***,using defect-rich nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes(NCNT-AW)as the support,we developed a highly active and durable copper-based NH_(3)-SCO catalyst with a high abundance of cuprous(Cu^(+))*** obtained Cu/NCNT-AW catalyst demonstrated outstanding activity with a T_(50)(*** temperature to reach 50% NH_(3) conversion)of 174℃ in the NH_(3)-SCO reaction,which outperformed not only the Cu catalyst supported on N-free O-functionalized CNTs(OCNTs)or NCNT with less surface defects,but also those most active Cu catalysts in open *** kinetics measurements and temperature-programmed surface reactions using NH_(3)as a probe molecule revealed that the NH_(3)-SCO reaction on Cu/NCNT-AW follows an internal selective catalytic reaction(i-SCR)route involving nitric oxide(NO)as a key *** to mechanistic investigations by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,and X-ray absorption spectroscopy,the superior NH_(3)-SCO performance of Cu/NCNT-AW originated from a synergy of surface defects and ***,surface defects promoted the anchoring of Cu O nanoparticles on N-containing sites and,thereby,enabled efficient electron transfer from N to Cu O,increasing significantly the fraction of SCR-active Cu^(+)sites in the *** study puts forward a new idea for manipulating and utilizing the interplay of defects and N-dopants on carbon surfaces to fabricate Cu^(+)-rich Cu catalysts for efficient abatement of slip NH_(3)emissions via selective oxidation.
