The Influence of High Tem.erature Exposure on the Wear Perform.nce of a Ni Based Alloy PTA Coating

Degradation phenom.na like wear and corrosion, m.y have their effects accelerated as com.onents operate at high tem.erature. The aim.of this work is to m.ke an indirect evaluation of the influence of high tem.erature exposure on wear behavior of Ni coatings. A Ni-Cr-m.-W alloy, was deposited with Plasm. Transferred Arc (PTA) process. An indirect approach based on the Ahrrenius relationship was used to evaluated long tim. exposures at high tem.eratures. To sim.late longer exposures at lower tem.eratures, coatings were exposed to higher tem.eratures for the sam. tim. interval. So coatings were soaked in an air furnace at 650°C, 1000°C and 1200°C. m.tal/m.tal wear behavior was evaluated by pin-on-disc tests. Pins were rem.ved from.the coatings by eletrodischarge m.chining and rubbed against a VC31 quenched and tem.ered tool steel. Two sets of wear tests were run at 2m.s, for different loads (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0Kg) and for different sliding distances (120, 720, 1080, 1440 and 1800m..Coatings characterization was done by scanning electronic m.croscopy and Vickers m.crohardness. Results showed as tem.erature is increased, coatings wear perform.nce is altered, and this is associated with m.crostructural changes.

Objective:Neonates with congenital heart disease(CHD)and perinatal stroke have high m.rtality and survivors are at risk for poor long-term.neurodevelopm.ntal *** aim.of this study was to assess the risk factors and outcom. of neonates with both CHD and m.I-confirm.d perinatal stroke(Study Group)and com.are those to the risk factors and outcom. of infants m.tched for CHD without stroke(Control-1)and of infants m.tched for m.I-confirm.d stroke without CHD(Control-2).m.thods:We conducted a population-based case-control study enrolling 28 term.neonates with CHD and m.I-confirm.d acute perinatal stroke born between 2007–2017 in the Central-Hungarian *** of the control groups included 56 *** Bayley Scales of Infant Developm.nt-II,the Brunet-Lézine test and the Binet Intelligence scales-V were used for neurodevelopm.ntal follow-up at a m.dian age of 61 ***:m.rtality was highest in the Study Group(25%com.ared to 5%and 2%,respectively,p=0.001).Adverse neurodevelopm.ntal outcom. was prevalent in the Study(53%)and Control-2 Groups(52%,p=0.03).Significantly different param.ters am.ng the three groups included Apgar scores,m.de of delivery,gestational age at birth,cardiac interventions and twin *** a m.ltivariable regression analysis adjusted for clinically relevant param.ters,patients in the Study Group had significantly higher odds for m.rtality com.ared to patients in the Control-1 Group(OR:6.595%CI:1.1–39.4).Conclusions:Neonates with perinatal stroke and CHD are at a higher risk for dying com.ared to neonates with CHD without *** addition,the stroke-associated direct insult to the brain likely plays an im.ortant role in the developm.nt of neurodevelopm.ntal m.rbidity in these patients.

AIm. To analyse the Chibby expression and its function in colon carcinom. cell lines and colorectal carcinom. （CRC）. m.THODS： Chibby expression levels were investigated by quantitative RT-PCR in a panel of seven different colon carcinom. cell lines. By sequencing, we analysed m.tational status of Chibby. To test whether Chibby exhibited effects on β-catenin signalling in colon carcinom. cells, we transfected SW480 cells with Chibby expression plasm.d and, subsequently, analysed activity of β-catenin and tested for alterations in cellular phenotype. In addition, we exam.ned Chibby m.NA levels in sam.les of colorectal carcinom.s and adjacent norm.l tissues by using quantitative RT-PCR and hybridised gene chips with sam.les from.CRC and norm.l tissues. RESULTS： Chibby m.NA expression was strongly downregulated in colon carcinom. cell lines in com.arison to norm.l colon epithelial cells and no m.tation in any of the exam.ned colon carcinom. cell lines was found. Further, we could show that Chibby inhibited β-catenin activity in TOPflash assays when over-expressed in SW480 cells. Proliferation and invasion assays with Chibby transfected SW480 cells did not reveal profound differences com.ared to control cells. In contrast to these in vitro data, quantitative RT-PCR analyses of Chibby m.NA levels in CRC tum.r sam.les did not show significant differences to specim.ns in adjacent non-cancerous tissue. Consistent with these findings, gene chips analysing tissue sam.les of tum.rs and corresponding norm.l tissue did not show altered Chibby expressionCONCLUSION： Altered Chibby expression m.ght be observed in vitro in different colon carcinom. cell lines. However, this finding could not be confirm.d in vitro in CRC tum.rs, indicating that Chibby is not likely to prom.te CRC tum.r developm.nt or progression. Local scour m.y occur when a hydraulic structure is positioned in a channel with an erodible bed. Herewith investigated experim.ntally are the erosion and flow pattern due to a water jet passing over a channel bed at the asym.totic (final) state. The developm.nt of the scour hole, its m.xim.m.scour depth and length, are recorded and com.ared with available scour-depth relations. Two sets of experim.nts (see Table 1) were carried out. Set 1 (3 runs) was concerned with m.asuring the vertical instantaneous velocity distribution in the scour hole. The scour hole at the asym.totic (final) state, t = 100 [h] was investigated. Set 2 (5 runs) was concerned with studying the physics of scouring. The scour hole at about m.d-state, t = 0.5 [h], was investigated; subsequently the scour-hole depth was linearly extended on the sem.-log scale to 72 [h]; no velocity m.asurem.nts were perform.d.
