Predicting moisture condensation risk on the radiant cooling floor of an office using integration of a genetic algorithm-back-propagation neural network with sensitivity analysis

Pre-dehumidification time(τ_(pre))and pre-dehumidification energy consumption(e_(pre))play important roles in preventing the condensation of moisture on the floors of rooms that use a radiant floor cooling(RFC)***,there are few theoretical or experimental studies that focus on these two important *** this study,an artificial neural network(ANN)was used to predict condensation risk for the integration of RFC systems with mixed ventilation(MV),stratum ventilation(SV),and displacement ventilation(DV)systems.A genetic algorithm-back-propagation(GA-BP)neural network model was established to predict τ_(pre) and e_(pre).Both training data and validation data were obtained from tests in a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** results show that the established GA-BP model can predict τ_(pre) and e_(pre) *** coefficient of determination(R^(2))of τ_(pre) and of e_(pre) were,respectively,0.973 and *** an RFC system integrated with an MV,SV,or DV system,the lowest values of τ_(pre) and e_(pre) were with the DV system,23.1 s and 0.237 kWh,respectively,for a 67.5 m^(3) ***,the best pre-dehumidification effect was with integration of the DV and RFC *** study showed that an ANN-based method can be used for predictive control for condensation prevention in RFC *** also provides a novel and effective method by which to assess the pre-dehumidification control of radiant floor surfaces.

Prevalence of Drug Resistant Uropathogenic escherichia coli from Immunocompromised Diabetic Patients Attending Selected Health Facilities in Benue State

escherichia coli is the commonest bacterial uropathogen of UTIs, the commonest infections in immunocompromised diabetic patients. Better understanding of their main resistance mechanisms to commonly used antibacterial agents will help to reduce the burden of this infection. The prevalence of drug resistant uropathogenic escherichia coli isolates from immunocompromised diabetic patients attending selected health facilities in Benue State was investigated. Two hundred and ninety-six midstream urine samples were collected for both study and control diabetic patients. Bacterial isolation was done using semi-quantitative method. Drug resistant escherichia coli were identified as multidrug resistant (MDR), extensive drug resistant (XDR) and pan-drug resistant organisms (PDR). Statistical significance was considered at p e. coli isolates from the study and control subjects with overall prevalence of 20.9% and 8.4% respectively. The isolates were highly resistant to penicillin (ampicillin), monobactam (aztreonam), older quinolone (nalidixic acid) whereas the majority of them showed high susceptibility to aminoglycoside (streptomycin), cephalosporin (cefotaxime) and carbapenem (imipenem). None showed complete susceptibility to all the tested antibiotics. Twenty-five e. coli were identified in this MDR, eight, XDR while 5 were PDR. High numbers of drug resistant e. coli isolates were identified in the study group of which 25 were MDR, 8 XDR while 5 were PDR isolates. High prevalence of UTI and drug resistant isolates occur in diabetic patients with hyperglycemic condition.

Nowadays organosilicon luminescent materials are of increasing interest due to the variety of their synthetic or modification techniques and application fields. Ladder polyphenylsilsesquioxanes(L-PPSQ) are a unique class of organosilicon polymers, which can be ideal matrices for the luminescent composites due to their high thermal stability, optical transparency and mechanical strength. In this work, new mechanically strong, heat-resistant, transparent and sensitive to ammonia vapor luminescent composite films based on L-PPSQ have been obtained. As the source of europium ions oligophenyleuropiumsiloxane was used, demonstrating perfect compatibility to the matrix due to the similar *** improve luminescent properties of the films, new organosilicon ligands were introduced into the composites and their influence on the properties of the materials was studied. Valuable properties of described composites may allow their further application as multifunctional coatings.

Mixed-dimensional composite structures using zero-dimensional(0D)quantum dots(QDs)and two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)materials are expected to attract great interest in optoelectronics due to the potential to generate new optical ***,we report on the unique optical characteristics of a devices with mixed dimensional vertically stacked structures based on tungsten diselenide(WSe_(2))/CdSeS QDs monolayer/molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))(2D/0D/2D).Specifically,it exhibits an ambipolar photoresponse characteristic,with a negative photoresponse observed in the 400-600 nm wavelength range and a positive photoresponse appeared at 700 nm *** resulted in the high negative responsivity of up to 52.22 mA·W^(−1)under 400 nm,which is 163 times higher than that of the photodetector without CdSeS *** also demonstrated the negative photoresponse,which could be due to increased carrier collision probability and non-radiative *** modeling and simulation reveal that Auger recombination among the types of non-radiative recombination is the main cause of negative photocurrent ***,we discovered ambipolar photoresponse near a specific wavelength corresponding to the energy of quantum *** study revealed interesting phenomenon in the mixed low-dimensional stacked structure and paved the way to exploit it for the development of innovative photodetection materials as well as for optoelectronic applications.

Correlation between hydration properties and electrochemical performances on Ln cation size effect in layered perovskite for protonic ceramic fuel cells

PrBa_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(1.5)Fe_(0.5)O_(5+δ)(PrBSCF) has attracted much research interest as a potential triple ionic and electronic conductor(TIeC) electrode for protonic ceramic fuel cells(PCFCs). The chemical formula for Pr BSCF is AA'B_(2)O_(5+δ), with Pr(A-site) and Ba/Sr(A'-site) alternately stacked along the c-axis. Due to these structural features, the bulk oxygen ion diffusivity is significantly enhanced through the disorder-free channels in the PrO layer;thus, the A site cations(lanthanide ions) play a pivotal role in determining the overall electrochemical properties of layered perovskites. Consequently, previous research has predominantly focused on the electrical properties and oxygen bulk/surface kinetics of Ln cation effects,whereas the hydration properties for PCFC systems remain unidentified. Here, we thoroughly examined the proton uptake behavior and thermodynamic parameters for the hydration reaction to conclusively determine the changes in the electrochemical performances depending on LnBa_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(1.5)Fe_(0.5)O_(5+δ)(LnBSCF,Ln=Pr, Nd, and Gd) cathodes. At 500 ℃, the quantitative proton concentration of PrBSCF was 2.04 mol% and progressively decreased as the Ln cation size decreased. Similarly, the Gibbs free energy indicated that less energy was required for the formation of protonic defects in the order of Pr BSCF elucidate the close relationship between hydration properties and electrochemical performances in LnBSCF cathodes, PCFC single cell measurements and analysis of the distribution of relaxation time were further investigated.

The effects of Accumulated Short Bouts of Mobile-Based Physical Activity Programs on Depression,Perceived Stress,and Negative Affectivity among College Students in South Korea:Quasi-experimental Study
