Value Disclosure of Young Adults Through Social Media in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region as an Emerging Democracy

This study examines how accurate young adults in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, as an emerging democracy in the Middle East, express their core values through social media （Facebook in this context）. It also explores whether privacy affects with value disclosure. Findings show that value disclosure and definition of privacy varied greatly among respondents and from one value to another. Based on in-depth interview with 12 young adults, the study finds that religious, social, and cultural values have been easily and freely expressed on Facebook accounts by the majority of young adults, whereas other values such as honesty, freedom of speech, and political beliefs are being held by others mainly for privacy issues and political reasons. Democracy was a core value for some young adults seeking to make sense of the western principles of democracy and that reflect on their Facebook account. Results suggest that male respondents practice more freedom and less caution about their privacy than the female respondents on Facebook.

Esophagogastric anastomosis in rats: Improved healing by BPC 157 and L-arginine, aggravated by L-NAME

AIM To cure typically life-threatening esophagogastric anastomosis in rats, lacking anastomosis healing and sphincter function rescue, in particular. METHODS Because we assume esophagogastric fistulas represent a particular NO-system disability, we attempt to identify the benefits of anti-ulcer stable gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157, which was in trials for ulcerative colitis and currently for multiple sclerosis, in rats with esophagocutaneous fistulas. Previously, BPC 157 therapies have promoted the healing of intestinal anastomosis and fistulas, and esophagitis and gastric lesions, along with rescued sphincter function. Additionally, BPC 157 particularly interacts with the NOsystem. In the 4 d after esophagogastric anastomosis creation, rats received medication(/kg intraperitoneallyonce daily: BPC 157(10 μg, 10 ng), L-NAME(5 mg), or L-arginine(100 mg) alone and/or combined or BPC 157(10 μg, 10 ng) in drinking water). For rats underwent esophagogastric anastomosis, daily assessment included progressive stomach damage(sum of the longest diameters, mm), esophagitis(scored 0-5), weak anastomosis(m L H2 O before leak), low pressure in esophagus at anastomosis and in the pyloric sphincter(cm H2O), progressive weight loss(g) and mortality. Immediate effect assessed blood vessels disappearance(scored 0-5) at the stomach surface immediately after anastomosis creation. RESULTS BPC 157(all regimens) fully counteracted the perilous disease course from the very beginning(i.e., with the BPC 157 bath, blood vessels remained present at the gastric surface after anastomosis creation) and eliminated mortality. Additionally, BPC 157 treatment in combination with L-NAME nullified any effect of L-NAME that otherwise intensified the regular course. 智能电网背景下社区和端对端电能交易有助于挖掘利用产消者分布式能源的灵活性并最大化其价值。尽管多智能体深度强化学习提供了合适的无模型框架以实现多个产消者间能量管理策略的协同优化,该方法仍存在环境状态不稳定、产消者隐私保护和计算复杂度高等局限。该文提出一种将参数共享与优先深度确定性策略梯度法相结合的多智能体强化学习方法,通过智能体间的策略与经验共享以提升学习效率,并降低训练难度。接着构建端对端交易平台以协同社区市场内产消者的电能交易;执行奖励修正以避免产生新的负荷/发电高峰,从而保护本地配网的安全运行;作为可信任第三方向产消者提供有关社区市场的全局信息,在保护产消者隐私的同时减轻环境不稳定性,并提升算法的可扩展性。最后,通过算例验证所提方法能够有效降低社区总运行成本,保证产消者的利益,且较现有算法提高了训练速率与可扩展性。

A Hybrid System Approach for High Consumption Industrial Furnace Control

In this paper we describe a hybrid system approach for high consumption industrial furnace control. The problem is observed in systematic way starting from the need for modeling this system as hybrid. For description of this behavior we use the Hybrid System Description Language. After that, we design an optimal controller for the furnace and we simulate and compare the controller with other relevant predictive controllers. We have shown that using the hybrid approach for control of industrial furnaces leads to significant improvement of the control system performances.

Acute pancreatitis(AP) is common gastrointestinal disease of varied aetiology. The most common cause of AP is gallstones, followed by alcohol abuse as an independent risk factor. With the increased need for invasive techniques to treat pancreatic and bile duct pathologies such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP), AP has emerged as the most frequent complication. While severe AP following ERCP is rare(0.5%), if it does develop it has a greater severity index compared to non-ERCP AP. Development of a mild form of AP after ERCP is not considered a clinically relevant condition. Differences in the clinical presentation and prognosis of the mild and severe forms have been found between non-ERCP AP and postendoscopic pancreatitis(PEP). It has been proposedthat AP and PEP may also have different immunological responses to the initial injury. In this review, we summarise the literature on clinical and inflammatory processes in PEP vs non-ERCP AP.

Disruptions in AUXl-Dependent Auxin Influx Alter Hypocotyl Phototropism in Arabidopsis

Phototropism represents a differential growth response by which plant organs can respond adaptively to changes in the direction of incident light to optimize leaf/stem positioning for photosynthetic light capture and root growth orientation for water/nutrient acquisition. Studies over the past few years have identified a number of compo- nents in the signaling pathway（s） leading to development of phototropic curvatures in hypocotyls. These include the pho- totropin photoreceptors （photl and phot2） that perceive directional blue-light （BL） cues and then stimulate signaling, leading to relocalization of the plant hormone auxin, as well as the auxin response factor NPH4/ARF7 that responds to changes in local auxin concentrations to directly mediate expression of genes likely encoding proteins necessary for development of phototropic curvatures, While null mutations in NPH4/ARF7 condition an aphototropic response to unidirectional BL, seedlings carrying the same mutations recover BL-dependent phototropic responsiveness if coirradiated with red light （RL） or pre-treated with either ethylene. In the present study, we identify second-site enhancer mutations in the nph4 background that abrogate these recovery responses. One of these mutations-mapl （modifier of arf7 phenotypes 1）-was found to represent a missense allele of AUX1-a gene encoding a high-affinity auxin influx carrier previously associated with a number of root responses. Pharmocological studies and analyses of additional auxl mutants confirmed that AUX1 functions as a modulator of hypocotyl phototropism. Moreover, we have found that the strength of dependence of hypocotyl phototropism on AUX1-mediated auxin influx is directly related to the auxin responsiveness of the seedling in question.

Mast Cells:The Key to Multiple Sclerosis?

Mast cells are present in high numbers in the border-zones of the multiple sclerosis-plaques. They are located in small clusters along capillaries and venules, and they are more abundant in females than in men. Mast cells can be stimulated to release specific mediators such as histamine, resulting in oedema formation, as well as proteases that may cause demyelination, by several different activation mechanisms. We hypothesize that a putative mast cell activation may be induced by diet factor(s) as well as long lasting mental stress that may lead to the release of catestatin, as well as ACTH released from the pituitary gland. Given a natural flux of mast cell recovery and activation, a putative phenomenon of massive release of mediators and “silent” reload periods may explain the relapsing-remitting phases of multiple sclerosis.

The out-of-plane integration of microfabricated planar microchips into functional three-dimensional(3D)devices is a challenge in various emerging MEMS applications such as advanced biosensors and flow ***,no conventional approach currently provides a versatile solution to vertically assemble sensitive or fragile microchips into a separate receiving substrate and to create electrical *** this study,we present a method to realize vertical magnetic-field-assisted assembly of discrete silicon microchips into a target receiving substrate and subsequent electrical contacting of the microchips by edge wire bonding,to create interconnections between the receiving substrate and the vertically oriented *** assembly is achieved by combining carefully designed microchip geometries for shape matching and striped patterns of the ferromagnetic material(nickel)on the backside of the microchips,enabling controlled vertical lifting directionality independently of the microchip’s aspect *** form electrical connections between the receiving substrate and a vertically assembled microchip,featuring standard metallic contact electrodes only on its frontside,an edge wire bonding process was developed to realize ball bonds on the top sidewall of the vertically placed *** top sidewall features silicon trenches in correspondence to the frontside electrodes,which induce deformation of the free air balls and result in both mechanical ball bond fixation and around-the-edge metallic *** edge wire bonds are realized at room temperature and show minimal contact resistance(168 mN in pull tests).In our approach,the microchips and the receiving substrate are independently manufactured using standard silicon micromachining processes and materials,with a subsequent heterogeneous integration of the ***,this integration technology potentially enables emerging MEMS applications that requ
