Anti-inflammatory natural products modulate interleukins and their related signaling markers in inflammatory bowel disease:A systematic review

This review aims to identify in vivo studies investigating the potential of plant substances and their natural molecules in managing inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Specifically,the objective is to examine the impact of these substances on interleukins and other key inflammatory signaling *** articles published up to December 2022 were identified through a search of the PubMed,Scopus,Web of Science,and Embase *** search used keywords including“inflammatory bowel disease”,“medicinal plants”,“natural molecules”,“anti-inflammatory”,and“ulcerative colitis”,and identified 1,878 potentially relevant articles,of which 89 were included in this review after completion of the selection *** study provides preclinical data on natural products(NPs)that can potentially treat IBD,including ulcerative *** main actions of these NPs relate to their effects on nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κβ),the Janus kinase(JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription(STAT)signaling pathway,the regulation of T helper 17/regulatory T cells balance,and oxidative *** ability of these NPs to inhibit intestinal inflammation appears to be dependent on lowering levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-1β,and IL-17,via the Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)1,NF-κβ-p65,and STAT3 *** addition,NPs were shown to reduce oxidative stress and the severity of ulcerative colitis,as well as increase the activity of antioxidant *** actions suggest that NPs represent a promising treatment for IBD,and potentially have greater efficacy and safety than current treatments.

Ionic Liquids Assisted Synthesis of ZnO Nanostructures:Controlled Size,Morphology and Antibacterial Properties

Systematic analysis about the exploitation of imidazolium based ionic liquids （ILs）, [BMIM] BF4 [ILl], [EMIM] BF4 ILL2] and [BMIM] PF6 [IL3] as the morphological template on the basic sol-gel method adopted synthesis of nanostructured zinc oxide （ZnO） is presented. X-ray diffraction （XRD）, particle size analysis （PSA） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM） have been employed for the characterization of structure and morphology of the synthesized ZnO particles. Well-defined capsule like shaped morphology with lower nanosize is observed for the ZnO nanoparticles with ILl than those with IL2 and IL3. This confirms that ILl served as an effective templating material due to their unique properties. Especially the effective aggregation of ZnO particles with a self-organized frame of ILl was the essential factor to produce the lower nanosized ZnO with capsule shaped structure. The synthesized ZnO samples with IL2 and IL3 fabricated the flake like shaped and rod like shaped morphologies in the range of nanoscale. The formed ZnO nanoparticles with IL2 exhibit higher nanosize than the ZnO nanoparticles produced by ILl, owing to shorter length of alkyl group in its cation which restricts steric effect and permits the nanoparticles to grow longer. Even though IL3 produced the discrete ZnO nanorods, the hydrophobic nature of IL3 created the higher nanosize than the ZnO nanoparticles formed by other two ionic liquids. Antibacterial properties of the synthesized ZnO nanostructures were investigated against Staphylococcus aureus （gram positive） and Escherichia coil （gram negative） bacteria by Agar diffusion test method. Microbial experiments indicate that the synthesized ZnO samples show a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activities and performed better against S. aureus than E. coil with the same concentration of ZnO.

In vivo antiplasmodial potential of three herbal methanolic extracts in mice infected with Plasmodium berghei NK65

Objective: The present study deals with the investigation of antiplasmodial potential of leaf methanolic extract of Aegle marmelos, Aristolochia indica and Cassia auriculata against Plasmodium berghei(NK65)infected ***: The chloroquine-sensitive parasites P. berghei(1 × 106) were inoculated into Swiss albino mice intraperitoneally. The methanol extracts of three herbal plants were orally administered in P. berghei infected mice which were further assessed using the four-day suppressive test at different doses of 150, 300 and 600 mg/kg per day. Chloroquine(CQ) was used as the standard drug with of 1.25, 2.5 and 5 mg/kg concentrations and was orally ***: The leaves of A. marmelos, A. indica, and C. auriculata were found to suppress P. berghei parasitaemia in Swiss albino mice by(67.0 ± 4.02)%,(72.0 ± 8.44)% and(52.7 ± 2.06)% at 600 mg/kg/d with ED50 values of 284.73, 233.77 and 562.48 mg/kg, respectively. These herbal plants increased the mean survival time of infected mice and prevented body weight loss. GC-MS analysis revealed the presence of hentriacontan-16-one(C31 H62 O) in A. indica extract. The histopathology study showed non-toxic to kidney and liver at 600 mg/kg/body ***: Overall results revealed that herbal plants may be active in the development of novel and cheap antimalarial compounds.

The Forest Department in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India developed Forest Management Information System (FMIS) for achieving organizational goals of improved financial and human resource management, improvement in the management of forests and wildlife, and for achieving responsive administration. This paper, based on field research, presents an assessment of the dynamics of FMIS in organizational context for a better understanding of such systems in forestry organizations. The paper also investigates the success of FMIS in assisting decision makers in achieving organizational goals. Based on the knowledge developed during the course of the study, key learning elements have been highlighted for the benefit of the stakeholders in information systems in forest sector.

The mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)is a protein kinase that controls cellular metabolism,catabolism,immune responses,autophagy,survival,proliferation,and migration,to maintain cellular *** mTOR signaling cascade consists of two distinct multi-subunit complexes named mTOR complex 1/2(mTORC1/2).mTOR catalyzes the phosphorylation of several critical proteins like AKT,protein kinase C,insulin growth factor receptor(IGF-1R),4E binding protein 1(4E-BP1),ribosomal protein S6 kinase(S6K),transcription factor EB(TFEB),sterol-responsive element-binding proteins(SREBPs),Lipin-1,and Unc-51-like autophagy-activating *** signaling plays a central role in regulating translation,lipid synthesis,nucleotide synthesis,biogenesis of lysosomes,nutrient sensing,and growth factor *** emerging pieces of evidence have revealed that the constitutive activation of the mTOR pathway due to mutations/amplification/deletion in either mTOR and its complexes(mTORC1 and mTORC2)or upstream targets is responsible for aging,neurological diseases,and human ***,we provide the detailed structure of mTOR,its complexes,and the comprehensive role of upstream regulators,as well as downstream effectors of mTOR signaling cascades in the metabolism,biogenesis of biomolecules,immune responses,and ***,we summarize the potential of long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)as an important modulator of mTOR ***,we have highlighted the potential of mTOR signaling in aging,neurological disorders,human cancers,cancer stem cells,and drug ***,we discuss the developments for the therapeutic targeting of mTOR signaling with improved anticancer efficacy for the benefit of cancer patients in clinics.

Root Extract of Polygonum Hydropiper Alters the Expression of Rat Uterine Protein Profile in Presence and Absence of Ovary in-situ during Periimplantation Period:An Evidence on SDS-PAGE

Objective To study its effects on reproductive performance in albino rats.Methods The chromatographic fraction （CF） of crude methanolic extract of the herb has been subcutaneously administered to female albino rats. Experiments were carried out in adult cyclic females and oavriectomised （OVX） females during early gestation period. Uterine horns were collected following the respective treatment regimen to stud）, the protein profile in 15% gel SDS-PAGE.Results The CF induced changes in the expression of protein in rat uterus. New proteins have been expressed in uterus of adult cyclic females having ovary in-situ. The OVX females treated with CF showed altered uterine protein profile compared with that of OVX control and OVX estradiol-17β （E2） treated rats. The CF exerted its effect on expression of uterine protein during early gestation period in rats. While uterine proteins of CF treated females were similar to that of controls during preimplantation period; many of the proteins on day 6 of gestation have been found either missing or expressed in lesser intensity.Conclusion The root of Polygonum hydropiper contains potential compound（s） which can alter the reproductive performance of female rats modulating uterine protein expression.

Expression of Insulin-like Growth Factor-I in Uterusis Ovarian Steroid Dependent:An in situ Immunohistochemical Study in Rat

Objective To study the immunohistochemical localization of insulin-like growth factor- I （IGF-I） in rats＇ uteri to determine if expression of the growth factor is ovarian steroid dependent. The study was carried out in presence and absence of ovary in situ of non pregnant females and during early gestation （day 1 to day 5.5）. Cyclic females were tested to observe the effect of native steroids on IGF-I expression. Adult females were ovariectomized （OVX） and injected （s.c） with estradiol-1713 in a dose of O.1 I^g/ml per day for three consecutive days at interval of 24 h prior to the collection of uterine horns. During the early pregnancy, studies were carried out on day 3.5 and day 5. 5 of geatation respectively to determine the Steroids＇ effects during pre- and post-implantation period Tamoxifen was administered （s.c） in a dose of 250 Ug/ml per day from day 1 to day 3 of gestation while, the prostaglandin F2a （PGF2a） was administered （s.c） from day 3 of gestation onward for three consecutive days at interval of 24 h in a dose of 150 μg/ml per day. Expression of lGF-I was immunohistochemically localised using IGF-1 antibody in paraffin embedded sections. Results IGF-I was expressed in rat uterus during estrus phase as well as during pre and post-implantation period The ovariectomized females＇ uteri lost the expression of IGF-1. Exogenous administration of tamoxifen and PGF2a reduce the expression of the growth factor. Conclusion Expression of lGF-1 in rat uterus during cyclic stage and early gestation depends upon the availability of circulating estrogen and progesterone. Uterine expression of lGF-I can be modulated by manipulating circulating ovarian steroid either during cyclic stage or during gestation.

Diabetes mellitus(DM)and obesity are interrelated in a complex manner,and their coexistence predisposes patients to a plethora of medical *** surgery has evolved as a promising therapeutic option for both *** is recommended that patients,particularly those of Asian origin,maintain a lower body mass index threshold in the presence of uncontrolled ***,several comorbidities often accompany these chronic diseases and need to be addressed for successful surgical *** Roux-en-Y gastric bypass(RYGB)and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy(LSG)are the most commonly used bariatric procedures *** bariatric benefits of RYGB and LSG are similar,but emerging evidence indicates that RYGB is more effective than LSG in improving glycemic control and induces higher rates of long-term DM *** scoring systems have been formulated that are utilized to predict the chances of remission.A glycemic target of glycated hemoglobin<7%is a reasonable goal before ***,pulmonary,gastrointestinal,hepatic,renal,endocrine,nutritional,and psychological optimization of surgical candidates improves perioperative and long-term *** guidelines for preoperative care of individuals with obesity have been formulated,but very few specifically focus on the concerns arising from the presence of concomitant *** is hoped that this statement will lead to the standardization of presurgical management of individuals with DM undergoing metabolic surgery.
