A 63-year-old Caucasian man presented with a cholestatic syndrome, renal failure and arthralgias. A laboratory examination revealed high immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgG4 levels (5.95 g/L; normal range: 0.08-1.4 g/L), pointing to a diagnosis of systemic IgG4-related disease, with definite radiological evidence of biliary and pancreatic expression, and plausible renal, articular, salivary and lacrimal glands involvement. Due to the rarity of the condition, there are currently no random control trials to point to the optimal therapeutic approach. The patient has been on steroid therapy with the subsequent introduction of azathioprine, with a complete resolution of all symptoms, a rapid reduction to normalization of all blood tests, and a complete regression of the radiological picture. Our experience underlines the complexity of IgG4-related disease and its variable and sometimes progressive presentation, while pointing out the need for a careful and complete assessment for possible multi-organ involvement.

In astrophysics, the boundary conditions for plasma phenomena are provided by nature and the astronomer faces the problem of understanding them from a variety of observations [Hester J J et al 1996 Astrophys. J. 456 225], on the other hand, in laboratory plasma experiments the electromagnetic boundary conditions become a major problem in the set-up of the machine that produces the plasma, an issue that has to be investigated step by step and to be modified and adapted with great patience, in particular in the case of an innovative plasma confinement experiment. The PROTO-SPHERA machine [Alladio F et al 2006 Nucl. Fusion 46 S613] is a magnetic confinement experiment, that emulates in the laboratory the jet + torus plasma configurations often observed in astrophysics: an inner magnetized jet of plasma centered on the(approximate) axis of symmetry and surrounded by a magnetized plasma torus orthogonal to this jet. The PROTO-SPHERA plasma is simply connected, i.e., no metal current conducting rod is linked to the plasma torus, while instead it is the inner magnetized plasma jet(in the following always called the plasma centerpost) that is linked to the torus. It is mandatory that no spurious plasma current path modifies the optimal shape of the plasma centerpost. Moreover, as the plasma torus is produced and sustained, in absence of any applied inductive electric field, by the inner plasma centerpost through magnetic reconnections [Taylor J B and Turner M F 1989 *** 29 219], it is required as well that spurious current paths do not surround the torus on its outboard, in order not to lower the efficiency of the magnetic reconnections that maintain the plasma torus at the expense of the plasma centerpost. Boundary conditions have been corrected,up to the point that the first sustainment in steady state has been achieved for the combined plasma.

BACKGROUND Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome(IC/BPS)is an at least 6-mo noninfectious bladder inflammation of unknown origin characterized by chronic suprapubic,abdominal,and/or pelvic *** the term cystitis suggests an inflammatory or infectious origin,no definite cause has been *** occurs in both sexes,but women are twice as much *** To systematically review evidence of psychiatric/psychological changes in persons with IC/*** Hypothesizing that particular psychological characteristics could underpin IC/BPS,we investigated in three databases the presence of psychiatric symptoms and/or disorders and/or psychological characteristics in patients with IC/BPS using the following strategy:("interstitial cystitis"OR"bladder pain syndrome")AND("mood disorder"OR depressive OR antidepressant OR depression OR depressed OR hyperthymic OR mania OR manic OR rapid cyclasterisk OR dysthymiasterisk OR dysphoriasterisk).reSULTS On September 27,2023,the PubMed search produced 223 articles,CINAHL 62,and the combined PsycLIT/PsycARTICLES/PsycINFO/Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection search *** on *** produced 14 studies,of which none had available *** were peer-reviewed articles reporting psychiatric/psychological symptoms in patients with IC/BPS,i.e.63 articles spanning from 2000 to October *** studies identified depression and anxiety problems in the IC/BPS population,along with sleep problems and the tendency to *** Psychotherapies targeting catastrophizing and life stress emotional awareness and expression reduced perceived pain in women with IC/*** concepts should be considered when implementing treatments aimed at reducing IC/BPS-related pain.

In the last decades,in some Mediterranean areas,pedodiversity decreased mainly due to pedotechnique application in large-scale farming that transformed original soils into *** the consideration that soils can be considered as living systems,the original concept of'soil genetic erosion'is ***,extrapolated and modeled from a Soil Information System in a study case representative of a Mediterranean landscape,predicted that most of the soil types would disappear in few years leading to a decrease of the soil diversity and originating soil genetic *** circumstance is intentionally here told in form of a story where the fairy tale characters are some roils facing extinction in the *** genetic erosion could result in a negative impact on the environment because it reduces the soil's security through a drastic reduction of the soil ecosystem services with a decrease of the immaterial benefit for the *** conviction that soils,as well as animals and plants,are living bodies,and pedodiversity is equally important as biodiversity in maintaining sustainability and ecosystem services,might truly attract the attention of the public ***,focussing more on the soil economic dimension and strengthening the assignation of'economic value'to the soil ecosystem services,also politicians and administrators could increase their interest in soil security.

Soil morphological, physical and chemical properties are described at four locations along an elevational transect in the northeastern part of the Moldavian Plateau (Romania). These data contribute to the knowledge of the soils of this area and to their classification according to the USDA-Soil Taxonomy, FAOWRB and the SRTS-Romanian System. The soils were classified as Inceptisols, Alfisols and Mollisols, according to the USDA-Soil Taxonomy;Gleysol, Chernozem and Luvisol, according to the FAO-WRB and Gleiosol, Cernoziom, Preluvosol, Luvosol, according to the SRTS-Romanian System. The selected soils have a range of properties that represent the soilscape of the Moldavian subcarpathian plateau, characterised by a natural forest with oak as the dominant species. The selected soil parameters decreased with increasing elevation;calcium carbonate and clay leaching and accumulation are the main soil formation processes.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection （ICSI） is the recommended treatment in many cases of male-factor infertility. Several studies have demonstrated a positive correlation between optimal sperm morphology and positive ICSI outcomes. In fact, spermatozoa with severe abnormalities of the head are well documented to be associated with low fertilisation, implantation and pregnancy rates. However, a spermatozoon which is classified as ＇normal＇ by microscopic observation at low magnification could contain ultrastructural defects that impair both the fertilisation process and embryonic development. The intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection （IMSI） procedure changed the perception of how a spermatozoon suitable for injection should appear. Sperm selection is carried out at x 6000 magnification, allowing improved assessment of the sperm nucleus. Currently, standardized clinical indications for I MSI are lacking and the candidates are selected on the grounds of their medical history or of a careful analysis of the sperm suspension. Further prospective randomized studies are needed to confirm the advantages of IMSI in specific groups of patients. In addition to providing a brief overview of the IMSI procedure, this study aims to review the literature, which explains the theoretical basis and the clinical outcomes of this technique. Several reports show that IMSI is associated with improved implantation and clinical pregnancy rates as well as lower abortion rates when compared to ICSI. Although a possible correlation between the sperm＇s abnormal nucleus shape, increased DNA fragmentation and negative laboratory and clinical outcomes has been long investigated, the results are conflicting.
