Trehalose(Tre)is a non-reducing disaccharide found in many species,including bacteria,fungi,invertebrates,yeast,and even plants,where it acts as an osmoprotectant,energy source,or protein/membrane *** relatively small amounts in plants,Tre concentrations increase following exposure to abiotic ***-6-phosphate,a precursor of Tre,has regulatory functions in sugar metabolism,crop production,and stress *** the various abiotic stresses,temperature extremes(heat or cold stress)are anticipated to impact crop production worldwide due to ongoing climate *** small amounts of Tre can mitigate negative physiological,metabolic,and molecular responses triggered by temperature *** also interacts with other sugars,osmoprotectants,amino acids,and phytohormones to regulate metabolic reprogramming that underpins temperature stress *** plants expressing Tre-synthesis genes accumulate Tre and show improved stress ***-wide studies of Tre-encoding genes suggest roles in plant growth,development,and stress *** review discusses the functions of Tre in mitigating temperature stress—highlighting genetic engineering approaches to modify Tre metabolism,crosstalk,and interactions with other molecules—and in-silico approaches for identifying novel Tre-encoding genes in diverse plant *** consider how this knowledge can be used to develop temperature-resilient crops essential for sustainable agriculture.

In today’s manufacturing industries,hard competition between rival firms mak.s.it compulsory for researchers to design lighter and cheaper machine components due to the megatrends of cost-effectiveness and *** this point,aluminum syntactic foams(AsFs)are new-generation engineering composites and come into the upfront as a *** to their features like low density,sufficient elongation,and perfect energy absorption ability,these advanced foams have been considerably seductive for many industrial sectors *** this study,an industrial-oriented automatic die casting technology was used for the first time to manufacture the combination of AA7075/porous expanded clay(PEC).Micro evaluations(optical and FEsEM)reveal that there is a homogenous particle distribution in the foam samples,and inspections are compatible with the other AsF ***,T6 aging heat treatment was operated on one half of the produced foams to explore the probable impact of aging on the compressive *** results show that PEC particles can be an alternative to expensive hollow spheres used in the previous ***,a favorable relationship is ascertained between the aging treatment and mechanical properties such as compression strength and plateau strength.

Colour and organic removal of biologically treated coffee curing wastewater by electrochemical oxidation method

The treatment of biologically treated wastewater of coffee-curing industry by the electrochemical oxidation using steel anode was investigated. Bench-scale experiments were conducted for activated sludge process on raw wastewater and the treated effluents were further treated by electrochemical oxidation method for its colour and organic content removal. The efficiency of the process was determined in terms of removal percentage of COD, BOD and colour during the course of reaction. several operating parameters like time, pH and current density were examined to ascertain their effects on the treatment efficiency. steel anode was found to be effective for the COD and colour removal with anode efficiency of 0.118 kgCOD\5h -1\5A -1\5m -2 and energy consumption 20.61 kWh\5kg -1 of COD at pH 9. The decrease in pH from 9 to 3 found to increase the anode efficiency from 0.118 kgCOD\5h -1\5A -1\5m -2 to 0.144 kWh\5kg -1 of COD while decrease the energy consumption from 20.61 kWh\5kg -1 of COD to 12.86 kWh\5kg -1 of COD. The pH of 5 was considered an ideal from the present treatment process as it avoids the addition of chemicals for neutralization of treated effluents and also economical with respect to energy consumption. An empirical relation developed for relationship between applied current density and COD removal efficiency showed strong predictive capability with coefficient of determination of 96.5%.

Exploring visual quality of multidimensional time series projections

Dimensionality reduction is often used to project time series data from multidimensional to two-dimensional space to generate visual representations of the temporal *** this context,we address the problem of multidimensional time series visualization by presenting a new method to show and handle projection errors introduced by dimensionality reduction techniques on multidimensional temporal *** visualization,subsequent time instances are rendered as dots that are connected by lines or curves to indicate the temporal ***,inevitable projection artifacts may lead to poor visualization quality and misinterpretation of the temporal *** projected data points,inaccurate variations in the distances between projected time instances,and intersections of connecting lines could lead to wrong assumptions about the original *** adapt local and global quality metrics to measure the visual quality along the projected time series,and we introduce a model to assess the projection error at intersecting *** serve as a basis for our new uncertainty visualization techniques that use different visual encodings and interactions to indicate,communicate,and work with the visualization uncertainty from projection errors and artifacts along the timeline of data points,their connections,and *** approach is agnostic to the projection method and works for linear and non-linear dimensionality reduction methods alike.

Rechargeable zinc-iodine(ZnI_(2))batteries have gained popularity within the realm of aqueous batteries due to their inherent advantages,including natural abundance,intrinsic safety,and high theoretical ***,challenges persist in their practical applications,notably battery swelling and vulnerability in aqueous electrolytes,primarily linked to the hydrogen evolution reaction and zinc dendrite *** address these challenges,this study presents an innovative approach by designing a solid-state ZnI_(2)battery featuring a solid perfluoropolyether based polymer *** results demonstrate the formation of a solid electrolyte interphase layer on zinc,promoting horizontal zinc growth,mitigating dendrite penetration,and enhancing battery cycle ***,the solid electrolyte hinders the iodine ion shuttle effect,reducing zinc foil *** batteries employing this electrolyte demonstrate excellent cycle performance,maintaining stability for approximately 5000 h at room temperature,while solid-state ZnI_(2)batteries exhibit over 7000 cycles with a capacity retention exceeding 72.2%.This work offers a promising pathway to achieving reliable energy storage in solid-state ZnI_(2)batteries and introduces innovative concepts for flexible and wearable zinc batteries.

Groundwater pollution by fluoride is one of the prime concerns of the world population due to its toxicity,which results in adverse health *** this paper,we review the current scenario of the fluoride contamination of groundwater in various countries across the globe and its impact on human *** the last decade,several newly affected regions have been reported all over the world,with more than 100 countries affected by fluoride contamination in groundwater(concentration exceeding the acceptable limit of 1.5 mg/L defined by the World Health Organization).Fluoride poisoning is mainly due to the unsupervised ingestion of products for dental and oral hygiene and over-fluoridated drinking *** is estimated that more than 200 million people from different countries are affected by fluoriderelated groundwater issues and health *** highest among these are from the countries in Africa(38),Asia(28),and Europe(24),followed by countries like south America(5),North America(3),and Australia(2).The source of fluoride in drinking water is primarily geogenic,together with forage,grasses and grains,tea,and anthropogenic *** countries affected were correlated with climatic zones and geological factors to gain insights into geospatial *** analyses show that most of the fluoride pollution-prone zones are located in high-grade metamorphic terranes with granitoid or alkaline intrusions,geothermal hot springs,and volcanic regions with arid or semi-arid climatic *** study also finds that children across the globe are more vulnerable than adults to fluoride *** review finds that,although there are efficient fluoride removal techniques,including filters with next-generation nanomaterials,to date,there has not been a single technique developed that can claim to be a practically robust solution for fluoride removal from drinking ***,we suggest developing next-generation filters that can retain essential miner

Improving Channel Estimation in a NOMA Modulation Environment Based on Ensemble Learning

This study presents a layered generalization ensemble model for next generation radio mobiles,focusing on supervised channel estimation *** estimation typically involves the insertion of pilot symbols with a well-balanced rhythm and suitable *** model,called stacked Generalization for Channel Estimation(sGCE),aims to enhance channel estimation performance by eliminating pilot insertion and improving *** sGCE model incorporates six machine learning methods:random forest(RF),gradient boosting machine(GB),light gradient boosting machine(LGBM),support vector regression(sVR),extremely randomized tree(ERT),and extreme gradient boosting(XGB).By generating meta-data from five models(RF,GB,LGBM,sVR,and ERT),we ensure accurate channel coefficient predictions using the XGB *** validate themodeling performance,we employ the leave-one-out cross-validation(LOOCV)approach,where each observation serves as the validation set while the remaining observations act as the training *** performances’results demonstrate higher mean andmedian accuracy compared to the *** achieves an average accuracy of 98.4%,precision of 98.1%,and the highest F1-score of 98.5%,accurately predicting channel ***,our proposedmethod outperforms prior traditional and intelligent techniques in terms of throughput and bit error ***’s superior performance highlights its efficacy in optimizing channel *** can effectively predict channel coefficients and contribute to enhancing the overall efficiency of radio mobile *** extensive experimentation and evaluation,we demonstrate that sGCE improved performance in channel estimation,surpassing previous ***,sGCE’s capabilities have significant implications for optimizing channel estimation in modern communication systems.
