The demand for procedures aiming to rejuvenate the upper third part of the face and the periocular region has increased in the past several *** is one of the most frequently performed procedures worldwide to *** is currently the first choice in order to achieve permanent and effective results;however,it is burdened by potential surgical complications feared by *** is an increasing trend in individuals to request less invasive,non-surgical,effective,and safe procedures for eyelid *** aim of this minireview is to present a brief overview of non-surgical blepharoplasty techniques that have been reported in the literature in the past 10 *** modern techniques that provide a rejuvenation of the entire area have been *** less invasive methods have been proposed in the current literature and in modern-day routine clinical *** fillers are a commonly chosen option for providing enhanced aesthetic results,especially considering that volume loss can be one of the main underlying causes of facial and periorbital *** acid use may be considered when the problem is represented by periorbital excess fat *** simultaneous excess and loss of elasticity of the skin can be assessed with techniques such as lasers and plasma ***,techniques such as platelet-rich plasma injections and the insertion of twisted polydioxanone threads are emerging as viable methods to rejuvenate the periorbital region.

We study the dynanfics of the first hydration shell of lysozyme to determine the role of hydra- tion water that accompanies lysozyme thermal denaturation. We use nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to investigate both the translational and rotational contributions. Data on proton self-diffusion and reorentational correlation time indicate that the kinetics of the lysozyme fold- ing/unfolding process is controlled by the dynamics of the water molecules in the first hydration shell. When the hydration water dynamics change, because of the weakening of the hydrogen bond network, the three-dimensional structure of the lysozyme is lost and denaturation is triggered. Our data indicates that at temperatures above approximately 315 K, water behaves as a simple liquid and is no longer a good solvent.

Migration is a global phenomenon and can present different characteristics and trends,as well as multiple reasons for its origin,linked for example to political,economic,war,climatic or cultural *** discourse on migrants is often fuelled by prejudices and stereotypes with sometimes important consequences,such as episodes of misinformation or verbal violence,transmitted in digital format,with a high percentage of sharing and ***,scientific literature in the social sciences is still scarce,as is the attention of institutions and media to the“digital dimension”of the migration *** new electronic-digital media are increasingly interconnected environments used to build and share information,also in the field of ***,it is necessary to scientifically investigate this aspect and to know the languages and communication modes of“digital migrants”(cybermigrants),in order to manage technological risks and their new virtual identities,beyond any form of *** is the term coined by philosopher Luciano Floridi to represent the new human condition in the digital age.A dimension that can also be identified in the migration phenomenon:migrants are not only the subject of journalistic narratives,but they live connectedly and actively participate in the spaces of the *** these reasons,and others that will be presented here,through the study and analysis of the international literature,we would like to try to think of a new social science:the“sociology of digital migrations”.

Hepato-splenic lymphoma:a rare entity mimicking acute hepatitis:A case report

We reported a case of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma where liver involvement was the predominant clinical manifestation.A 27-year old man presented wiht markedly elevated serum aspartate aminotrasferase,alanine aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase,reduced prothrombin activity,thrombocytopenic purpura and hepato-splenomegaly without ***,toxic, autoimmune and metabolic liver diseases were excluded. Bone marrow biopsy showed an intracapillary infiltration of T-lymphocytes with no evidence of lipid storage disease. Because of a progressive spleen enlargement,splenectomy was *** examination showed lymphomatous intrasinuses invasion of the spleen. Immunohistochemical investigation revealed the T phenotype of the neoplastic cells:CD45+,CD45RO+, CD3+,CD4-,CD8-,TIAl-.About 50 % of the lymphoid cells expressed CD56 *** diagnosis of hepatosplenic T cell lymphoma was *** patient was treated with chemotherapy,which induced a complete *** months later,he had a first relapse with increased aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferase,lactate dehydrogenase, thrombocytopenic purpura and blast in the peripheral blood. In spite of autologous bone marrow transplantation,he died twenty months after the *** in the absence of a mass lesion or lymphoadenopathy,hepatosplenic T- cell lymphoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a patient whose clinical course is atypical for acute hepatic dysfunction.

Colonoscopic evaluation of hematochezia in low and average risk patients for colorectal cancer:A prospective study

AIM: To relate the endoscopic findings in patients with hematochezia with regard to age in “low and average risk” for colorectal cancer (CRC) and to localize signifi cant lesions in order to identify patients who need sigmoidoscopy or total colonoscopy. METHODS: This prospective study was performed in an open access GI endoscopy unit. Out of 4322 consecutive patients undergoing colonoscopy, 918 reported hema- tochezia. The fi nal study group comprized 180 patients aged below 45 and 237 over 45. Main exclusion criteria were a 1st-degree family history of colorectal carcinoma, patients reporting blood mixed with stools and/or pro- gressive colonic symptoms, or patients who had under- gone colon surgery for neoplastic lesions. RESULTS: Total colonoscopy could be performed in 96% of patients. Abnormal findings were observed in 34.3% of the younger and in 65.7% of the older ones. Findings were the presence of polyps in the distal colon (n = 2) and IBD in the proximal colon (n = 29) in the group of the younger patients, and polyps (n = 15), IBD (n = 13), and carcinoma (n = 6, 4 of the lesions were located proximal to the splenic flexure) in the elderly. Our f indings suggest that the diagnostic potential of total colonoscopy in patients younger than 45 referring scant hematochezia, is not mandatory. By exploring only the distal tract of the colon we have misdiagnosed two cases of IBD located in the ascending colon. In this group of patients additional risk factors must be identifi ed before performing a total colonoscopy. Regarding the patients older than 45 yr, the exploration of the distal colon would have led to our overlooking a carcinoma, two neoplastic polyps and one IBD located in the proximal colon. CONCLUSION: Young patients with scant hematochezia but without risk factors for neoplasia do not need a totalcolonoscopy, whereas is mandatory performing a total colonoscopy in older patients even in the presence of anal pathology.

AIM:To investigate the progression of hepatic histopathology in serial liver biopsies from Wilson disease(WD)***:We report a group of 12 WD patients treated with zinc and/or penicillamine who underwent multiple follow-up liver ***,clinical and laboratory data were gathered and all patients underwent an initial biopsy and at least one repeat ***:Time to repeat biopsy ranged from 2 to 12 *** patients(non-progressors)showed stable hepatic histology or *** one case,we observed improvement of fibrosis from stage 2 to *** patients(progressors)had worsening of *** was no significant correlation between the histological findings and serum aminotransferases or copper me-tabolism *** hepatic copper concentration reached normal levels in only two patients:one from the non-progressors and one from the progressors *** estimated rate of progression of hepatic fibrosis in the entire group was 0 units per year in the time frame between the first and the second liver biopsy(4 years),and 0.25 between the second and the third(3 years).In the progressors group,the rate of progression of liver fibrosis was estimated at 0.11 fibrosis units per year between the first and second biopsy and,0.6 fibrosis units between the second and third ***:The inability of clinical tools to detect fibrosis progression in WD suggests that a liver biopsy with hepatic copper quantification every 3 years should be considered.
