Natural gas (NG) is one of the most important sources of energy for industrial and domestic consumption in the present era because it is cheap and free from sulfur impurities. Therefore, accurate and precise measurement of its composition is of fundamental importance for trade reasons. To improve the quality of NG gas measurements, certified reference materials (CRMs) should be used for calibration of measuring equipment in order to ensure the traceability of the measurement results to the SI units. For the traceability purpose, a multicomponent natural gas mixture was prepared gravimetrically as a reference material according to ISO 6142 from pure helium, hydrogen, n-pentane, i-pentane, n-butane, i-butane, propane, ethane, hexane, methane and nitrogen. The preparation was done in two dilution steps in 5 L aluminum cylinders. The calculated mole fractions and associated uncertainties of natural gas components were verified by a dual GC-FID/TCD system in accordance with ISO 6143 calibrated by a series of primary gas mixtures (CRMs) produced by an NMI. The results obtained by gravimetry and by GC measurements have been checked for compatibility as required by ISO 6142 and were found in very good agreement. Details of the preparation and calculation of the mole fractions and uncertainties of all gas components are explained in this article.

Influence of Land Use Activities on Spatial and Temporal Variation of Nutrient Deposition in Mwanza Region: Implication to the Atmospheric Loading to the Lake Victoria

Increase in population growth and the associated activities have increased the nutrient input to the Lake Victoria through atmosphere and river discharge. Atmospheric input of nutrient is believed to exceed that of river discharge due to relatively higher contribution of water mass to the Lake from atmosphere. However, precipitation characteristics with respect to nutrients have not been well studied to allow qualification and quantification of atmospheric contribution to the Lake Victoria. This study was conducted to investigate influence of land use activities on spatial and temporal variation of nutrient inputs from atmosphere and to estimate atmospheric loading to the Lake Victoria. The results revealed that there is significant spatial and temporal variation of nutrient deposition in the study area. High concentrations of nutrients were observed during short rains starting from September to December. This was attributed to dissolution of nutrients from soil particals and ash residues due to biomass burning accumulated in the atmosphere during dry season of June to August. Spatial variation of nutrients reflects land use activities. Urban and peri-urban areas showed very high concentration of nitrate nitrogen due to industrial and vehicle emission while rural area showed high concentration of phosphorous species and reduced forms of nitrogen species reflecting agricultural activities and animal keeping. Generally, nutrient deposition load was higher in rural area compared to urban with respective values of 15.5 and 13.9 kg·haˉ1·yˉ1 for total nitrogen and 6.1 and 2.8 kg·haˉ1·yˉ1 for total phosphorous. These results suggest that in order to realize significant reduction of nutrient input to the Lake Victoria, measures should be taken to control agricultural activities through proper land use planning. The measure may be directed to reduce biomass burning, emission from industries and vehicle as well as animal residue.

In the deregulated economy, the maximum load forecasting is important for the electric industry. Many applications are included such as the energy generation and purchasing. The aim of the present study is to find the most suitable models for the peak load of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Many mathematical methods have been developing for maximum load forecasting. In the present paper, the modeling of the maximum load, population and GDP （gross domestic product） versus years obtained. The curve fitting technique used to find that models, where Graph 4.4.2 as a tool used to find the models. As well, Neuro-Fuzzy used to find the three models. Therefore, three techniques are used. These three are exponential, linear modeling and Neuro-Fuzzy. It is found that, the Neuro-Fuzzy is the most suitable and realistic one. Then, the linear modeling is the next suitable one.

Telecommuting is a Transportation Demand Management strategy to partially or completely replace the daily commute with telecommunication technologies. Research has revealed that telecommuting can be effectively done from special places provided for this purpose called telecenters. In telecenter-based telecommuting, trip lengths are shortened due to change in the location of work places. Thus suitable locations of telecenters play an important role in increasing the beneficial impacts of telecommuting in the transportation systems. In this research, a mathematical optimization model for finding optimal location and capacity of telecenters is proposed. This model is a bi-objective linear program, and a Fuzzy Goal Programming method with a preemptive structure is used to solve it. Telecommuting demand is classified into three groups of telecommuters and a priority structure that assigns the higher priority class to the closer telecenters is also incorporated into the model. The proposed model is implemented in a case study of finding optimal location of telecenters for government employees in Tehran (capital of Iran) metropolitan area. The base model is solved and its sensitivity to different parameters has been analyzed based on which, an optimal model is selected. The solution of this model is an optimal pattern for distribution of telecommuting capacities and yields the most system-wide benefits from implementation of telecommuting.

Traditionally,Hofmeister effect was understood on the basis of hydration abilities of *** studies found short-range structuring effects of ions on water which shifted the attention from ion-water interaction to ion-protein *** this study,ATR-FTIR spectroscopy at different RH is used to study the effect of a representative Kosmotrope(MgSO),Chaotrope(NH NO) and neutral(KCl) salt on *** salting out,salting in and neutral effects of salts on glycine are found aligned with Hofmeister ***,direct interaction of kosmotrope anion(SO) with the glycine is observed experimentally which validates the recent idea of ion-protein *** detailed studies will be needed for deeper insight.

The study investigated the influence of Tropical cyclone (TCs) to the plant productivity indices along the coast of Tanzania using both field observations and change detection methods. These indices are normally designed to maximize the sensitivity of the vegetation characteristics and are very crucial in monitoring droughts intensity, yield and biomass amongst others. The study used three types of satellite imageries including the 16 days Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) of 250 × 250 m resolution;8 days Landsat 7 enhanced thematic mapper (ETM) with resolution of 30 × 30 m composites, and 5 Landsat 8 (LC8) images, to determine the patterns and the variability of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and TCs impacts on vegetation. Moreover, we used Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) data and the daily to monthly rainfall data from Tanzanian Meteorological Authority (TMA). The change detection between the pre and post storm (TCs) conditions was used to analyse inter annual variability of EVI over Chwaka, Rufiji and Pugu— Kazimzumbwi. The changes in NDVI and EVI and monthly rainfall at the coastal stations were calculated, plotted and analyzed. The results revealed that, highest EVI values over coastal Tanzania were observed during March and April, and minimum (low) values in November. The results for EVI changes based on pre and post storm conditions revealed that most observed stations and most TCs led to significant EVI changes which ranged from -0.05 to 0.19, and -0.3 to 0.22, for MODIS and L7 ETM data, respectively. As for the spatial changes in NDVI results revealed that, TCs (Besija and Fobane) were associated with positive NDVI changes i.e. (enhancement) of >0.51 and >0.31, and NDVI reduction (i.e. negative

The sera of 180 human samples were tested for the presence of antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi using the ELISA （enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay） technique. Out of 180 sero-samples, 46 （25.55%） were positive. Females of the age range 18-35 years had the highest rate of sero-positive samples 14 （38.88%）, while the highest percentage of sero-negative samples was found in males of the age range 50-80 years. The other sero-positive samples were： 6 （26.08%）, 6 （25%） and 3 （11.53%） in males of ages between 18-35, 35-50 and 50-80 years, respectively, and 11 （29.72%） and 6 （17.64%） in females in the age ranges 35-50 and 50-80 years, respectively. The mean concentration of Anti- B. burgdorferi antibody was higher （16.7 U/mL） when compared with mean concentration of normal value （5.5 U/mL）, P 〈 0.001.

为了确定宜春市肉牛犊牛腹泻的发病原因,试验采用牛腹泻五联病原体快速诊断试剂盒初步检验9头腹泻犊牛的粪便样品,对试剂盒检测为阳性的样品进行细菌的分离、纯化、生化鉴定和药敏试验。结果表明:使用牛腹泻五联病原体快速诊断试剂盒检测到有7份产气荚膜梭菌为阳性,2份大肠杆菌为阳性;细菌分离培养、生化鉴定结果符合产气荚膜梭菌的特性;青霉素、呋喃唑酮、多西环素和苯唑西林等药物能够明显抑制分离菌的生长。说明产气荚膜梭菌感染是引起犊牛腹泻的主要原因。

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic demyelinating disease of the CNS with assumed autoimmune etiology. Human herpes viruses have probable effects on relapsing-remitting MS pathogenesis presumably through molecular mimicry and/or bystander mechanisms. In this study we probed the possible contribution of the two herpes viruses, human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), in clinically definite multiple sclerosis (CDMS) pa-tients-relapsing remitting type (RRMS) during clinical exacerbations. All patients had no history of immune modulating or suppressing drugs intake in the last 6 months. The peripheral blood samples, from CDMS patients (n = 20) (13F/7M, age (y) = 30.3 ± 3.21) and other immune mediated neurological disorders (OIND) (11F/9M, age = 25.2 ± 12.1), (My-asthenia Gravis, Guillain Barré Syndrome, ischemic stroke in adolescent and young adult with no clear risk factors), as a control group, had been enrolled within 15 months (January-2007-- March -2008). We investigated the existence of specific deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) sequences belonging to HHV-6 and HHV-8, using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the isolated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and in plasma. PCR demonstrated HHV-6 DNA in 7 cases (35%), HHV-8 sequences in only one cases (5%) in PBMCs from 20 relapsed CDMS patients;all HHV-6 posi-tive cases showed positive plasma results, while the blood samples from 20 OIND patients showed negative results ex-cept one case (5%) out of 9 cases of GBS was positive for HHV-8 in PBMCs. We consequently concluded that there is considerable evidence in this study that proposed the roles of HHV-6 and HHV-8 in MS pathogenesis and clinical ex-acerbation.

为了调查清楚赣西地区肉牛胃肠道寄生虫的感染情况,结合饱和蔗糖溶液漂浮、甲醛-乙酸乙酯-改良耐酸染色、卢戈氏碘液染色、离心沉淀以及显微镜观察等多种方法对赣西地区肉牛的粪便进行处理与观察。从168份样本的结果来看,总体感染率为18.45%,大多数是单一感染,其中,艾美耳球虫感染率最高(8.93%),其次是类圆线虫(5.36%),其他虫种包括莫尼茨绦虫、肝片吸虫和隐孢子虫。调查结果表明,赣西地区肉牛胃肠道寄生虫对阿苯达唑伊维菌素预混剂敏感,该药对寄生虫具有良好的杀虫效果,但该药对球虫的驱杀效果不佳,球虫可以通过抗寄生虫药物如盐酸氨丙啉、莫能霉素、磺胺二甲嘧啶来控制。
