Investigation of the Effect of Acceptance and Commitment Psychotherapy (ACT) on Quality of Life of Adult Women Suffering from Obesity

Background and Purpose: Quality of life as an important factor in health is very important. This study is looking for an appropriate and effective treatment for improving quality of life. This research aims to study the psychological effect of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on quality of life of adult women suffering from obesity. Methods and Materials: This research is a kind of half-trail, with pattern of pre-test, post-test and group control. Statistical population includes all over-weight women with body mass index (BMI) range (30 - 40) who participated in family training sessions held in Shahin Shahr city. 40 patients who had the characteristics for sampling were selected and randomly placed in test and control groups (each group 20 people). Participants in each group before and after intervention quality of life questionnaire with 100 question sample World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL)-100 were evaluated. 12 sessions of acceptance and commitment therapy in group was used. The obtained data were analyzed with the use of Sciences Statistical Package for the Social (SPSS) 18 statistical software and methods of analysis of covariance. Findings: After selection of adult women having a BMI between 30 and 40 based on availability who had attended the meeting of family education, by invitation and voluntary, they were randomized into experimental and control groups. Intervention was done for experimental group. Due to the result of covariance analysis on the post-test stage, examination group showed significant improvement in variants physical health dimensions, level of independence in social and environmental relationships and spirituality (p < 0.01). Conclusion: According to the findings of this research based on the impact of acceptance and commitment intervention on promotion and improving in quality of life, this treatment can be used for improving the variants in women suffering from over-weight and obesity.

The effect of dynamical quark mass on the calculation of a strange quark star's structure

We discuss the dynamical behavior of strange quark matter components, in particular the effects of density dependent quark mass on the equation of state of strange quark matter. The dynamical masses of quarks are computed within the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model, then we perform strange quark matter calculations em- ploying the MIT bag model with these dynamical masses. For the sake of compar- ing dynamical mass interaction with QCD quark-quark interaction, we consider the one-gluon-exchange term as the effective interaction between quarks for the MIT bag model. Our dynamical approach illustrates an improvement in the obtained equation of state values. We also investigate the structure of the strange quark star using Tolman- Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations for all applied models. Our results show that dynamical mass interaction leads to lower values for gravitational mass.

An Assessment of Temporal and Spatial Distribution of Thunder Storms in Iran

The main purpose of this study is to investigate temporal and spatial distribution of thunderstorm frequency in Iran. In order to do study, observed statistical data of the present weather codes of thunderstorm (17, 29, 91 - 99) in 50 synoptic stations around the country were used in a 35 years statistic period (1979-2013). The results of the study showed that the phenomenon occurs mostly in southwest, west and northwest regions of Iran. Thunderstorm occurrence reduces when moving toward east. Maku station in northwest of Iran shows the maximum thunderstorm frequency during the statistical period (mean annual of 31). Jask station in southern Iran (mean annual of 2) has shown minimum thunderstorm occurrence during the statistical period. In the eastern regions of Iran, Torbat Heydarieh station revealed higher frequency than the other stations which was because of high mountains like Qaenat. In terms of temporal distribution, spring showed the highest frequency of the phenomenon. In monthly scale, the maximum frequency of hail downfall happens in April and May. In hourly scale, the maximum occurrence of thunderstorm observed at 12 - 18 p.m. for UTC time.

Biomimetic Decarboxylation of Carboxylic Acids with PhI(OAc)_2 Catalyzed by Manganese Porphyrin [Mn(TPP)OAc]

Manganese（Ⅲ） meso-tetraphenylporphyrin acetate [Mn（TPP）OAc] served as an effective catalyst for the oxidative decarboxylation of carboxylic acids with （diacetoxyiodo）benzene [PhI（OAc）2] in CH2CI2-H2O（95：5, volume ratio）. The aryl substituted acetic acids are more reactive than the less electron rich linear carboxylic acids in the presence of catalyst Mn（TPP）OAc. In the former case, the formation of carbonyl products was complete within just a few minutes with 〉97% selectivities, and no further oxidation of the produced aldehydes was achieved under these catalytic conditions. This method provides a benign procedure owing to the utilization of low toxic（diacetoxyiodo） benzene, biologically relevant manganese porphyrins, and carboxylic acids.

Computation of the structure of a magnetized strange quark star

We have calculated some properties of spin polarized strange quark matter（SQM） in a strong magnetic field at zero temperature using the MIT bag *** showed that the equation of state of spin polarized SQM is stiffer than that for unpolarized *** have also computed the structural properties of a spin polarized strange quark star（SQS） and found that the presence of a magnetic field leads to a more stable SQS when compared to the structural properties of an unpolarized SQS.

Extractive oxidative desulfurization of model oil/crude oil using KSF montmorillonite-supported 12-tungstophosphoric acid

12-Tungstophosphoric acid（PW） supported on KSF montmorillonite, PW/KSF, was used as catalyst for deep oxidative desulfurization（ODS） of mixed thiophenic compounds in model oil and crude oil under mild conditions using hydrogen peroxide（H2O2） as an oxidizing agent. A one-factor-at-a-time method was applied for optimizing the parameters such as temperature, reaction time, amount of catalyst, type of extractant and oxidant-tosulfur compounds（S-compounds） molar ratio. The corresponding products can be easily removed from the model oil by using ethanol as the best extractant. The results showed high catalytic activity of PW/KSF in the oxidative removal of dibenzothiophene（DBT） and mixed thiophenic model oil under atmospheric pressure at 75 ℃ in a biphasic system. To investigate the oxidation and adsorption effects of crude oil composition on ODS, the effects of cyclohexene, 1,7-octadiene and o-xylene with different concentrations were studied.

Strange quark star in dilaton gravity

In this work, we first obtain the hydrostatic equilibrium equation in dilaton gravity. Then, we examine some of the structural characteristics of a strange quark star in dilaton gravity in the context of Einstein gravity. We show that the variations of dilaton parameter do not affect the maximum mass, but variations in the cosmological constant lead to changes in the structural characteristics of the quark star. We investigate the stability of strange quark stars by applying the MIT bag model with dilaton gravity. We also provide limiting values for the dilaton field parameter and cosmological constant. We also study the effects of dilaton gravity on the other properties of a quark star such as the mean density and gravitational *** conclude that the last reported value for the cosmological constant does not affect the maximum mass of a strange quark star.

An efficient and direct procedure has been developed for the preparation of amidoalkyl naphthols by a one-pot condensation of aryl aldehydes, 2-naphthol and urea or amides, in the presence of wet-cyanuric chloride （wet-TCT） as a catalyst. The reactions were carried out under solvent-free media. The present methodology offers several advantages such as excellent yields, simple procedure and eco-friendly reaction condition.

Calculation of the structural properties of a strange quark star in the presence of a strong magnetic field using a density dependent bag constant

We have calculated the structural properties of a strange quark star with a static model in the presence of a strong magnetic field. To this end, we use the MIT bag model with a density dependent bag constant. To parameterize the density dependence of the bag constant, we have used our results for the lowest order constrained variational calculation of the asymmetric nuclear matter. By calculating the equation of state of strange quark matter, we have shown that the pressure of this system increases by increasing both density and magnetic field. Finally, we have investigated the effect of density dependence of the bag constant on the structural properties of a strange quark star.
