To leptospirosis is the commonest spirocheatal infection in the tropical and temperate countries of Indian sub-continent and Africa and the most common zoonosis *** protean manifestation of this infectious disease is a challenge for practising clinicians across the world. Fractures of the lesser tuberosity of the humerus are typically met in combination with other injuries of the shoulder. Case reports of isolated lesser tuberosity fractures are particularly rare and, consequently,therapeutic protocols have not yet been completely clarified. Conservative as well as surgical treatment has been recommended, while several operative techniques have been applied. We present a case of a 39-yearold man with an isolated lesser tuberosity fracture who was treated surgically in our institution. Due to fracture comminution, a two-level reconstruction technique with headless screws and buttress plate was applied. As far as we know, this method of fixation of this type of fracture has not been previously described in the *** patient tolerated the procedure well and excellent results were obtained at the latest follow-up.

With fossil fuel being the major source of energy,CO_(2) emission levels need to be reduced to a minimal amount namely from anthropogenic *** consumption is expected to rise by 48%in the next 30 years,and global warming is becoming an alarming issue which needs to be addressed on a thorough technical ***,exploring CO_(2) capture using membrane contactor technology has shown great potential to be applied and utilised by industry to deal with post-and pre-combustion of CO_(2).A systematic review of the literature has been conducted to analyse and assess CO_(2) removal using membrane contactors for capturing techniques in industrial *** review began with a total of 2650 papers,which were obtained from three major databases,and then were excluded down to a final number of 525 papers following a defined set of *** results showed that the use of hollow fibre membranes have demonstrated popularity,as well as the use of amine solvents for CO_(2) *** current systematic review in CO_(2) removal and capture is an important milestone in the synthesis of up to date research with the potential to serve as a benchmark databank for further research in similar areas of *** study provides the first systematic enquiry in the evidence to research further sustainable methods to capture and separate CO_(2).

A commercial product of carbon nano-particles, Cabot MONACH 1300 pigment black （CMPB）, was studied for basic structural information and electrochemical performance in neutral aqueous electrolytes, aiming at applications in supercapacitors. As confirmed by sEM and HRTEM, the CMPB had a hierarchical struc- ture, containing basic 10 nm nano-spheres which combined into ca. 50 nm agglomerates which further aggregated into larger particles of micrometres. The capacitance of this commercial material was found to increase with decreasing the size of hydrous cation （Li＋→Na＋ → K＋）, instead of the cation crystal radius （K＋→ Na＋→Li＋） when coupled with the same anion （cl-）. In electrolytes with the same cation concentration （K＋）, changing the anion from the larger dianion （sO42 ） to the smaller monoanion （cl-） also increased the capacitance at high potential scan rates （〉50 mV/s）. Increasing electrolyte concentration produced expected effect, including raising the electrode capacitance, but lowering the equivalent series resistance （EsR）, charge transfer resistance （CTR）, and the diffusion resistance. At higher temperatures, the CMPB exhibited slightly higher capacitance, which does not agree with the Gouy-Chapman theory on electric double layer （EDL）. A hypothesis is proposed to account for the capacitance increase with temperature as a result of the CMPB opening up some micro-pores for more ions to access in response to the temperature increase.

The repair（sealing） of plasmalemmal damage,consisting of small holes to complete transections,is critical for cell survival,especially for neurons that rarely regenerate cell *** first describe and evaluate different measures of cell *** measures,including morphological/ultra-structural observations,membrane potential,and input resistance,provide very ambiguous assessments of plasmalemmal *** contrast,measures of ionic current flow and dye barriers can,if appropriately used,provide more accurate *** describe the effects of various substances（calcium,calpains,cytoskeletal proteins,EsCRT proteins,m UNC-13,NsF,PEG） and biochemical pathways（PKA,PKC,PLC,Epac,cytosolic oxidation） on plasmalemmal sealing probability,and suggest that substances,pathways,and cellular events associated with plasmalemmal sealing have undergone a very conservative *** sealing,calcium ion influx mobilizes vesicles and other membranous structures（lysosomes,mitochondria,etc.） in a continuous fashion to form a vesicular plug that gradually restricts diffusion of increasingly smaller molecules and ions over a period of seconds to ***,we find no direct evidence that sealing occurs through the collapse and fusion of severed plasmalemmal leaflets,or in a single step involving the fusion of one large wound vesicle with the nearby,undamaged *** describe how increases in perikaryal calcium levels following axonal transection account for observations that cell body survival decreases the closer an axon is transected to the ***,we speculate on relationships between plasmalemmal sealing,Wallerian degeneration,and the ability of polyethylene glycol（PEG） to seal cell membranes and rejoin severed axonal ends – an important consideration for the future treatment of trauma to peripheral nerves.A better knowledge of biochemical pathways and cytoplasmic structures involved in plasmalemmal sealing might provide insights to develo
