Liver is unlikely the key organ driving mortality in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)however,liver function tests(LFTs)abnormalities are widely observed mostly in moderate and severe *** to this review,the overall prevalence of abnormal LFTs in COVID-19 patients ranges from 2.5%to 96.8%*** geographical variability in the prevalence of underlying diseases is the determinant for the observed discrepancies between East and *** mechanisms are implicated in COVID-19-induced liver *** them,hypercytokinemia with“bystander hepatitis”,cytokine storm syndrome with subsequent oxidative stress and endotheliopathy,hypercoagulable state and immuno-thromboinflammation are the most determinant mechanisms leading to tissue *** hypoxia may also contribute under specific conditions,while direct hepatocyte injury is an emerging *** for initially observed severe acute respiratory distress syndrome corona virus-2(sARs-CoV-2)tropism for cholangiocytes,more recent cumulative data show sARs-CoV-2 virions within hepatocytes and sinusoidal endothelial cells using electron microscopy(EM).The best evidence for hepatocellular invasion by the virus is the identification of replicating sARs-CoV-2 RNA,s protein RNA and viral nucleocapsid protein within hepatocytes using in-situ hybridization and immunostaining with observed intrahepatic presence of sARs-CoV-2 by EM and by in-situ *** data mostly derived from imaging findings indicate possible long-term sequelae for the liver months after recovery,suggesting a post-COVID-19 persistent live injury.

Trace fossils represent both sedimentological and paleontological entities, representing a unique blending of potential environmental indicators in the rock record. Trace fossils and trace fossil suites can be employed effectively to aid in the recognition of various discontinuity types and to assist in their genetic interpretation. Ichnology may be employed to resolve surfaces of strati-graphic significance in two main ways: 1) through the identification of discontinuities using substrate-controlled ichnofacies, and 2) through careful analysis of vertical softground (penecontem-poraneous) ichnologic successions (analogous to facies successions). Ichnological analysis is a valuable tool in genetic stratigraphic studies. Integrating the data derived from substrate-controlled ichnofacies with paleoecological data from vertical ichnologic successions greatly enhances the recognition and interpretation of a wide variety of stratigraphic surfaces. When this is coupled with conventional facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy, a powerful approach to the interpretation of the rock record is generated.

In order to conserve and culture the cichlid fish Archocentrus nigrofasciatus,more information about its reproductive biology and its larval behavior and morphogenesis is ***,temperatures ranging from 21 to 27°C are used in ornamental aquaculture *** temperatures are preferred to reduce the costs of water heating,and 23°C is usually the selected ***,there is limited information on culturing protocols for ornamental species and most of the information generated on this topic remains ***,the present study examines the morphological development of Archocentrus nigrofasciatus during the yolk-sac period up to the age of 100 h post-hatching in relation to 2 temperature regimes used in ornamental aquaculture:a temperature of 27°C(thermal optimum)and a decreased temperature of 23°C(thermal tolerance).The results of this study suggest that the 27°C temperature generates intense morphological changes in yolk-sac development in a shorter *** has advantages as it reduces the time of yolk-sac larval development,and,thus,minimizes the transition phase to exogenous feeding and maximizes the efficiency at which yolk is converted into body *** present paper provides necessary information to produce freshwater ornamental fish with better practices so as to increase larval survival and capitalize on time for growth.

Variations in soil organic matter accumulation across an elevation can be used to explain the control of substrate supply and variability on soil metabolic activity. We investigated geographic changes in soil organic matter and metabolic rates along an elevation gradient（289–2,489 m） in the santa Rosa Mountains, California, UsA from subalpine and montane pine forests through chaparral to desert. From base（289 m） to summit（2,489 m）, 24 sites were established for collecting soil samples under canopies and inter-canopy spaces, at 0–5 and 5–15 cm soil depths increments. soil organic matter（sOM） content was determined using weight loss on ignition at 550°C and soil CO2 efflux（R） was measured at day 5（R5） and day 20（R20） of incubation. Changes in sOM content along the elevation gradient showed a significant relationship（P〈0.05） but R5 and R20 were not related to either elevation or sOM content. However, the ratio of R and sOM（R5/sOM） showed a strong relationship across the mountains at both soil depths. R5/sOM, as an indicator of carbon use efficiency, may be applicable to other semi-arid transects at larger scale modeling of soil metabolic processes.

Copper-based pesticides and wood preservatives could end up in the environment during production,use,and end-of-life via different pathways that could cause unintended ecolog-ical and adverse health *** paper provides the effect of colloid-size Cu-based pesti-cides(CuPRO and Kocide),micronized Cu azole(MCA-1 and MCA-2)and alkaline Cu quater-nary(ACQ)treated woods,Cu^(2+),Cu^(2+) spiked untreated wood(UTW),and CuCO_(3) solutions against Gram-positive Bacillus species using five-day biochemical oxygen demand(BOD 5)stan-dard *** total Cu leached from MCA-1,MCA-2,and ACQ in Milli-Q water after 5 days were -0.1,-0.11,and -0.64 g/kg of wood,***,the form of Cu leached from MCA woods was mostly ionic(>90%).The total organic carbon(TOC)content of any tested wood(UTW/MCA-1/MCA-2/ACQ)was -99%of its corresponding total carbon(TC)content,whereas the TOC of any tested wood sawdust exceeded that of its corresponding piece/block by>300%.The dissolved oxygen(DO)consumption value in the presence of Cu^(2+),CuCO_(3),CuPRO,and Kocide solutions was significantly influenced by Cu particles/***,the DO consumption value in the presence of UTW/MCA-1/MCA-2/ACQ woods was significantly influenced by organics leached from *** the other hand,the DO consumption of MCA sawdust was greater than(300%)that of MCA pieces/*** findings of this study provide more insight into how organics leached from woods significantly reduce the toxic effects of Cu ions against Gram-positive Bacillus species.

We discuss the shape of threshold signals in production cross sections of the reaction e＋e- → D＊ Dˉ＊, at the opening of the Ds＊ Dˉs＊ and Λc＋ Λ＋c channels. Furthermore, evidence for the ψ（3D）, ψ（5s）, ψ（4D）, ψ（6s）, ψ（5D）, ψ（7s）, ψ（6D）, and ψ（8s） new charmonium vector resonances is presented, on the basis of data recently published by the BABAR Collaboration. Central masses and resonance widths are estimated. Confirmation of these resonances would be a huge step in lifting the precision level of hadron spectroscopy towards that of atomic spectroscopy, with far-reaching consequences for theory.
