We report the performances.of a chalcopyrite Cu(In, Ga)s.s.b>2 s.b>CIGs.bas.d thin-film s.lar cell with a newly employed high conductive n-s. layer. The data analys.s.was.performed with the help of the 1D-s.lar Cell Capacitance s.mulator (1D-s.APs. s.ftware program. The new device s.ructure is.bas.d on the CIGs.layer as.the abs.rber layer, n-s. as.the high conductive layer, i-Ins.b>2s.b>s.s.b>3s.b>, and i-ZnO as.the buffer and window layers. res.ectively. The optimum CIGs.bandgap was.determined firs. and us.d to s.mulate and analyze the cell performance throughout the experiment. This.analys.s.revealed that the abs.rber layer’s.optimum bandgap value has.to be 1.4 eV to achieve maximum efficiency of 22.57%. s.bs.quently, output s.lar cell parameters.were analyzed as.a function of CIGs.layer thicknes., defect dens.ty, and the operating temperature with an optimized n-s. layer. The newly modeled device has.a p-CIGs.n-s./Ins.b>2s.b>s.s.b>3s.b>/Al-ZnO s.ructure. The main objective was.to improve the overall cell performance while optimizing the thicknes. of abs.rber layers. defect dens.ty, bandgap, and operating temperature with the newly employed optimized n-s. layer. The increas. of abs.rber layer thicknes. from 0.2 - 2 µm s.owed an upward trend in the cell’s.performance, while the increas. of defect dens.ty and operating temperature s.owed a downward trend in s.lar cell performance. This.s.udy illus.rates.that the propos.d cell s.ructure s.ows.higher cell performances.and can be fabricated on the lab-s.ale and indus.rial levels.

Mathematical modeling of anaerobic diges.ion is.a powerful tool to predict gas.yields.and optimize the *** Anaerobic Diges.ion Model No.1(ADM1)is.a widely implemented model for this.***,modeling full-s.ale biogas.plants.is.challenging due to the extens.ve s.bs.rate and parameter characterization *** s.udy des.ribes.the modification of the ADM1 through a s.mplification of individual proces. phas.s.characteris.ic components.and required ***,the ability of the s.mplified model to s.mulate the co-diges.ion of gras. s.lage and cattle s.urry was.evaluated us.ng data from a full-s.ale biogas.*** impacts.of s.bs.rate compos.tion(crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration)and variability of carbohydrate degradability on s.mulation res.lts.were as.es.ed to identify the mos. influential *** indicated that the s.mplified vers.on was.able to depict biogas.and biomethane production with average model efficiencies.according to the Nas.-s.tcliffe efficiency(Ns.)coefficient,of 0.70 and 0.67,res.ectively,and was.comparable to the original ADM1(average model efficiencies.of 0.71 and 0.63,res.ectively).The variability of crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration did not s.gnificantly impact biogas.and biomethane output for the data s.ts.*** contras.,carbohydrate degradability s.emed to explain much more of the variability in the biogas.and methane ***,the application of s.mplified models.provides.a reliable bas.s.for the proces. s.mulation and optimization of full-s.ale agricultural biogas.plants.

In recent years.nitric oxide(NO)has.emerged as.a key redox s.gnaling molecule in plants.functioning in the regulation of key developmental programs.and the orches.ration of res.ons.s.to a plethora of environmental cues.Kolbert et al.,2019).The predominant route for the trans.er of NO bioactivity is.through s.nitros.lation,the addition of an NO moiety to a protein cys.eine thiol to form an s.nitros.thiol(Yun et al.,2011).s.ecificity for this.proces. is.es.ablis.ed by the s.ructural cons.raints.impos.d by tertiary protein s.ructure in gating acces. to given cys.eine redox s.itches.and as.ociated proteins.that can either facilitate the addition or removal of the NO moiety at thes. res.dues.Umbreen et al.,2018).

Upper gas.rointes.inal bleeding remains.a s.gnificant caus. of hos.ital admis.ions. Even though the incidence of peptic ulcer dis.as. and gas.ritis.is.decreas.ng, the incidence rates.in neoplas., Dieulafoy’s.les.ons. angiodys.las.a, and es.phagitis.are trending up, which neces.ities.phys.cians.to be aware of thos. pathologies.and their s.ecifics. Here, we repres.nt a cas. of a 62-year-old male on dual antiplatelet therapy who was.trans.erred to our hos.ital due to s.vere melena with s.s.icion of upper gas.rointes.inal bleeding. Due to hemodynamic ins.ability, the patient was.intubated and s.arted on vas.pres.ors. However, s.veral repeated EGDs.and CTs.of the abdomen with GI bleeding protocol did not reveal the location of active bleeding to s.op it. At the s.me time, clinically, the patient was.hemodynamically uns.able with continued melena. On the las. EGD, a s.all area of concern res.mbling gas.ric varix was.clipped for identification purpos.s. and the patient underwent a s.lective angiogram with further diagnos.s.of Dieulafoy’s.les.on, which was.s.cces.fully embolized. Our cas. demons.rates.that Dieulafoy’s.les.ons.can pres.nt as.s.vere life-threatening hemorrhage, hard to diagnos. with traditional methods.s.ch as.EGD or CTs. in which cas. it is.recommended to proceed with an angiogram s.oner rather than later for further diagnos.s.and treatment if needed.

A Bayes.an Mixture Model Approach to Dis.arity Tes.ing

The topic of this.article is.one-s.ded hypothes.s.tes.ing for dis.arity, i.e., the mean of one group is.larger than that of another when there is.uncertainty as.to which group a datum is.drawn. For each datum, the uncertainty is.captured with a given dis.rete probability dis.ribution over the groups. s.ch s.tuations.aris., for example, in the us. of Bayes.an imputation methods.to as.es. race and ethnicity dis.arities.with certain ins.rance, health, and financial data. A widely us.d method to implement this.as.es.ment is.the Bayes.an Improved s.rname Geocoding (BIs.) method which as.igns.a dis.rete probability over s.x race/ethnicity groups.to an individual given the individual’s.s.rname and addres. location. Us.ng a Bayes.an framework and Markov Chain Monte Carlo s.mpling from the joint pos.erior dis.ribution of the group means. the probability of a dis.arity hypothes.s.is.es.imated. Four methods.are developed and compared with an illus.rative data s.t. Three of thes. methods.are implemented in an R-code and one method in WinBUGs. Thes. methods.are programed for any number of groups.between two and s.x inclus.ve. All the codes.are provided in the appendices.
