m.them.tical m.deling of anaerobic digestion is a powerful tool to predict gas yields and optim.ze the *** Anaerobic Digestion m.del No.1(ADm.)is a widely im.lem.nted m.del for this ***,m.deling full-scale biogas plants is challenging due to the extensive substrate and param.ter characterization *** study describes the m.dification of the ADm. through a sim.lification of individual process phases,characteristic com.onents and required ***,the ability of the sim.lified m.del to sim.late the co-digestion of grass silage and cattle slurry was evaluated using data from.a full-scale biogas *** im.acts of substrate com.osition(crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration)and variability of carbohydrate degradability on sim.lation results were assessed to identify the m.st influential *** indicated that the sim.lified version was able to depict biogas and biom.thane production with average m.del efficiencies,according to the Nash-sutcliffe efficiency(NsE)coefficient,of 0.70 and 0.67,respectively,and was com.arable to the original ADm.(average m.del efficiencies of 0.71 and 0.63,respectively).The variability of crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration did not significantly im.act biogas and biom.thane output for the data sets *** contrast,carbohydrate degradability seem.d to explain m.ch m.re of the variability in the biogas and m.thane ***,the application of sim.lified m.dels provides a reliable basis for the process sim.lation and optim.zation of full-scale agricultural biogas plants.
