Effect of projectile parameters on opening behavior of PELE penetrating RC target

When a penetrator with enhanced lateral effect(PELE) impacts on a reinforced concrete(RC) target,the target is damaged with a large *** understanding of how PELE projectile parameters affect the opening dimension,is essential for effective design of the PELE *** this study,under the condition that the impact velocity and target parameters(strength and thickness) were fixed values,the important influence factors of the PELE(jacket wall thickness B,jacket material strength Y1,filling material strength Y2 and angle of monolithic jacket θ) were determined by a dimensional *** and simulations of the PELE penetrating the RC target were conducted to analyze the influence of these factors on opening diameter(D,an equivalent diameter under relative kinetic energy).Based on the test and simulation results,it is found that the influence of these factors B,Y1 and θ on the deformation mode of the jacket shows a similar trend:as values of the three factors decrease,the jacket deforms from small bending deformation to large one,and then to curling *** causes the opening diameter to first increase with the decrease of these three factors,and then *** is well known that the bending resistance of the jacket is related to these factors B,Y1 and θ.Therefore,a plastic limit bending moment(M0) of the jacket was quoted to characterize the influence of these factors on the bending deformation of the jacket and the opening diameter of the *** influence factor Y2 causes D to first increase with the increase of Y2,and then decreases.A formula was developed to predict the opening diameter,whose influence parameters were considered in a dimensionless *** has been shown that the dimensionless opening diameter D/d1 is dependent on two dimensionless parameters■ and■,where d1 and fc are the outer diameter of the projectile and the compressive strength of the target,respectively.

Correlation of ischemic ophthalmopathy with lacunar infarction

AIM:To investigate the correlation of ischemic ophthalmopathy(IO)with lacunar infarction(li),an ischemic lesions in the cerebrovascular ***:Totally 204 cases of IO without any nervous system symptom and previously diagnosed li served as the observational *** 204 cases without IO,nervous system symptoms and previous li served as the control *** and sex between the two groups matched *** was diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and the results of the two groups were statistically analyzed and ***:IO included 174 eyes of 156 patients with non-arteritis anterior ischemic optic neuropathy(NAION),42 eyes of 36 patients with central retinal artery occlusion(CRAO)or branch retinal artery occlusion(BRAO)and 12 eyes of 12 patients with ocular ischemia syndrome(OIS).The detection rate of li(72.54%)in IO group was obviously higher than that(15.68%)in the control group(Pli(r=0.573,Plia(67.57%),which were not the vital areas of cerebrum and not easy to be found due to their small *** majority of those first visited IO patients(72.54%)without nervous system symptom and previously diagnosed li had already suffered from ***:According to our studies,there is a positive correlation between IO and *** can be used as an important predictor for the present of li,especially obvious signs of the patient.

Acetaminophen-induced acute pancreatitis: A case report and literature review

Acute pancreatitis is rarely associated with drugs. Acetaminophen overdose is a well-known cause of hepatic toxicity, but drug-induced pancreatitis is rarely reported, especially after mild overdose. A 32-yearold woman presented with nausea and vomiting for 12 h, but no abdominal pain following an overdose of eight Tylenol tablets containing acetaminophen(325 mg acetaminophen per tablet). Laboratory results on admission showed abnormal amylase and lipase levels but completely normal liver function. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography revealed mild swelling of the pancreas without fluid collection around the pancreas. The patient complained of severe abdominal pain five days after admission when attempting to drink water and liquids. Eight days after admission, fluid around the pancreas was observed by computed tomography. The patient was subsequently diagnosed with acetaminophen-induced acute pancreatitis after exclusion of common causes. Routine treatment for pancreatitis and N-acetylcysteine were administered to prevent disease progression. The patient was discharged in good condition.

The Cloning and Fluorescence In situ HybridizationAnalysis of Cotton Telomere Sequence

Telomeres form the ends of eukaryotic chromosomes and serve as protective caps that keep chromosomes structure independency and completeness. The first plant telomere DNA was isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana and was shown to have tandemly repeated sequence 5-TTTAGGG-3： The Arabidopsis-type telomere has been found in many plants, but several reports indicate that this sequence is absent in some plants. Up to now, no research has been conducted on the telomere of cotton. In this paper, the Arabidopsis-type telomere sequence was amplified and cloned using the primers designed based on the fragment containing telomere sequence in an Arabidopsis bacterial artificial chromosome （BAC）. Fluorescence in situ hybridization （FISH） with cotton metaphase chromosomes using the Arabidopsis-type telomere sequence as probes indicated that the signals were located at all chromosome ends of seven diploid and two tetraploid cotton species with different signal intensities among chromosome complements of different cotton species, even between long and short arms of the same chromosome. To identify the signals of FISH, the genome DNA of Xinhai 7, a cultivar of Gossypium barbadense, digested by BAL-31 nuclease was introduced in this study. The result of BAL-31 digestion indicated that the hybridization signals of FISH represent the outermost DNA sequence of each cotton chromosomes. So we first proved that the telomeric repeats of cotton cross-hybridize with that of Arabidopsis. The results of terminal restriction fragment （TRF） showed significant variation in telomere length among cotton species. The telomere length of cultivated cotton was close to 20 kb and was larger than those of wild cotton species whose telomere length rahged from 6 to 20 kb.

BACKGROUND Vestigial like family member 3(VGLL3)is associated with the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer and soft tissue sarcoma,but its role in gastric cancer(GC)is *** To explore the expression pattern and clinical significance of VGLL3 in *** Integrative analysis was performed on the GC transcriptome profiles and survival information deposited in the ONCOMINE,GEPIA,and ONCOLNC *** expression levels of VGLL3 mRNA and protein were analyzed in the freshly resected tumor and normal gastric tissues from GC patients by quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot,*** addition,the in situ expression of VGLL3 in the GC tissues was determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC),and the patients were accordingly classified into the high and low expression *** correlation of VGLL3 expression status with patient prognosis was then determined by univariate and multivariate Cox regression *** Analysis of the ONCOMINE and GEPIA databases showed that VGLL3 was significantly up-regulated in GC tissues(P=0.003),and associated with the tumor TNM stage(P=0.0163).The high VGLL3 expression group had a significantly worse prognosis compared to the low expression group,as per both GEPIA(P=0.0057)and ONCOLNC(P=0.01).The bioinformatics results were validated by the significantly higher VGLL3 mRNA and protein levels in the GC tissues compared to the adjacent normal tissues(P<0.001)in a cohort of 30 GC ***,high in situ expression of VGLL3 protein was associated with more advanced N and TNM stages and HER2 mutation(P<0.05)in a cohort of 172 ***-Meier analysis showed that the high VGLL3 expression group had a worse prognosis compared to the low expression group(P=0.019).Multivariate analysis showed that VGLL3 expression status was an independent risk factor for *** addition,the prognostic risk model nomogram showed that VGLL3 was the most important indicator,with an area under the receiver operating character

Objective To observe the apoptosis of osteosarcoma MG-63 cells induced by As2O3 and to explore its possible mechanisms. Methods The flowcytometric analysis and transmission electronmicroscope were performed to investigate the inducing apoptosis and inhibitative of As2O3 on osteosarcoma MG-63 cells. In order to study mechanism of apoptosis in MG-63 cells treated with As2 O3, microarray was performed. The down-regulated gene was confirmed by RT-PCR, Northern-blotting. Results After treated with As2O3, hypodiploid peak before G0/G1 phase was observed in MG-63 cells through FCM analysis. Loss of microvilli, condensation and fragmentation of nuclear chromatin, condensation of cytoplasmic organelles, dilatation of the endoplasmic reticulum shrinkage of cells and alterations in cell membranes and apoptosis bodies which were observed in MG-63 cells treated with As2O3 by transmission electronmicroscope. The results of microarray show that As2 O3 induced MG-63 cell apoptosis involves down-regulation of IEX-1 and the down-regulated gene is confirmed by RT-PCR and *** The results show that As2 O3 selectively inhibits growth of the solid tumor MG-63 cells by triggering apoptosis and indicates MG-63 induced by As2O3 cell apoptosis may through the IEX-1 pathway.

Myostatin(MSTN) is a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth and development. The skeletal muscle in MSTN^(-/-)mice is significantly hypertrophied, with muscle fiber type II increasing significantly while muscle fiber type I ***, it is still not clear how the skeletal muscle types change in MSTN^(-/-)pigs, and how the mechanism for MSTN regulates fiber types, especially in large animals like pigs. This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of the composition of skeletal muscle fibers in MSTN^(-/-)pigs produced in our laboratory. It was observed that, compared with wild-type(WT) pigs, both the total mass of skeletal muscle and type IIb muscle fibers increased significantly(Plidated their expression by quantitative RT-PCR. Herein, it was found that Myh7, Myh2, Myh4 and Myh1 can be detected in the skeletal muscle of pigs at 65 days of gestation(dg). Compared with WT pigs, in MSTN^(-/-)Meishan pigs, Myh7 decreased significantly(Plity improvement, but also for the study of human skeletal muscle development and disease treatment.

Improving winter wheat grain yield and water-/nitrogen-use efficiency by optimizing the micro-sprinkling irrigation amount and nitrogen application rate

Available irrigation resources are becoming increasingly scarce in the North China Plain (NCP),and nitrogen-use efficiency of crop production is also relatively ***,it is imperative to improve the water-use efficiency (WUE) and nitrogen fertilizer productivity on the ***,we conducted a two-year field experiment to explore the effects of different irrigation amounts (S60,60 mm;S90,90 mm;S120,120 mm;S150,150 mm) and nitrogen application rates (150,195 and 240 kg ha^(–1);denoted as N1,N2 and N3,respectively) under micro-sprinkling with water and nitrogen combined on the grain yield(GY),yield components,leaf area index (LAI),flag leaf chlorophyll content,dry matter accumulation (DM),WUE,and nitrogen partial factor productivity (NPFP).The results indicated that the GY and NPFP increased significantly with increasing irrigation amount,but there was no significant difference between S120 and S150;WUE significantly increased first but then decreased with increasing irrigation and S120 achieved the highest *** increase in nitrogen was beneficial to improving the GY and WUE in S60 and S90,while the excessive nitrogen application (N3) significantly reduced the GY and WUE in S120 and S150 compared with those in the N2 *** NPFP significantly decreased with increasing nitrogen rate under the same irrigation *** synchronous increase in spike number (SN) and 1 000-grain weight (TWG)was the main reason for the large increase in GY by micro-sprinkling with increasing irrigation,and the differences in SN and TGW between S120 and S150 were *** S60 and S90,the TGW increased with increasing nitrogen application,which enhanced the GY,while N2 achieved the highest TWG in S120 and *** the filling stage,the LAI increased with increasing irrigation,and greater amounts of irrigation significantly increased the chlorophyll content in the flag leaf,which was instrumental in increasing DM after anthesis and increasing the ***-sprinkling with in

Background:Mitochondria have been shown to play vital roles during severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection and coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)***,it is unclear whether mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)variants,which define mtDNA haplogroups and determine oxidative phosphorylation performance and reactive oxygen species production,are associated with COVID-19 ***:A population-based case-control study was conducted to compare the distribution of mtDNA variations defining mtDNA haplogroups between healthy controls(n=615)and COVID-19 patients(n=536).COVID-19 patients were diagnosed based on molecular diagnostics of the viral genome by qPCR and chest X-ray or computed tomography *** exclusion criteria for the healthy controls were any history of disease in the month preceding the study *** variants defining mtDNA haplogroups were identified by PCR-RFLPs and HVS-I sequencing and determined based on mtDNA phylogenetic analysis using Mitomap ***’s t-test was used for continuous variables,and Pearson’s chi-squared test or Fisher’s exact test was used for categorical *** assess the independent effect of each mtDNA variant defining mtDNA haplogroups,multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to calculate the odds ratios(OR)and 95%confidence intervals(CI)with adjustments for possible confounding factors of age,sex,smoking and diseases(including cardiopulmonary diseases,diabetes,obesity and hypertension)as determined through clinical and radiographic ***:Multivariate logistic regression analyses revealed that the most common investigated mtDNA variations(>10%in the control population)at C5178 a(in NADH dehydrogenase subunit 2 gene,ND2)and A249 d(in the displacement loop region,D-loop)/T6392 C(in cytochrome c oxidase I gene,CO1)/G10310 A(in ND3)were associated with a reduced risk of severe COVID-19(OR=0.590,95%CI 0.428–0.814,P=0.001;and OR=0.654,95%CI 0.45
