Altered amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations and default mode network connectivity in high myopia:a resting-state fMRI study

AIM:To analyze changes in amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations(ALFFs)and default mode network(DMN)connectivity in the brain,using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI),in high myopia(HM)***:Eleven patients with HM(HM group)and 15 age-and sex-matched non-HM controls(non-HM group)were *** were calculated and compared between HM group and non-HM *** component analysis(ICA)was conducted to identify DMN,and comparisons between DMNs of two groups were ***-of-interest(ROI)-based analysis was performed to explore functional connectivity(FC)between DMN ***:Significantly increased ALFFs in left inferior temporal gyrus(ITG),bilateral rectus gyrus(REC),bilateral middle temporal gyrus(MTG),left superior temporal gyrus(STG),and left angular gyrus(ANG)were detected in HM group compared with non-HM group(all P<0.01).HM group showed increased FC in the posterior cingulate gyrus(PCC)/precuneus(preCUN)and decreased FC in the left medial prefrontal cortex(mPFG)within DMN compared with nonHM group(all P<0.01).Compared with non-HM group,HM group showed higher FC between mPFG and bilateral middle frontal gyrus(MFG),ANG,and MTG(all P<0.01).In addition,HM patients showed higher FC between PCC/(preCUN)and the right cerebellum,superior frontal gyrus(SFG),left pre CUN,superior frontal gyrus(SFG),and medial orbital of the superior frontal gyrus(ORB supmed;all P<0.01).CONCLUSION:HM patients show different ALFFs and DMNs compared with non-HM subjects,which may imply the cognitive alterations related to HM.

Efficacy and safety of non-penetrating glaucoma surgery with phacoemulsification versus non-penetrating glaucoma surgery:a Meta-analysis

AIM:To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of non-penetrating glaucoma surgery(NPGS)plus phacoemulsification(Phaco-NPGS)and ***:We systematically searched various databases and reviewed studies that had evaluated the effects of Phaco-NPGS or NPGS-alone for patients with *** outcomes included postoperative intraocular pressure(IOP)and the number of postoperative antiglaucoma *** outcomes were the prevalence of complications,incidence of needling or goniopuncture,and surgical success ***:In total,380 and 424 eyes in NPGS-alone and Phaco-NPGS groups respectively were *** postoperative IOP and number of medications were significantly lowered in the Phaco-NPGS group than that in the NPDS-alone group[weighted mean difference(WMD)=-1.12,95%confidence interval(CI):-2.11 to-0.12,P=0.03;WMD=-0.31,95%CI:-0.53 to-0.09,P=0.006].Moreover,Phaco-NPGS had a significantly lower prevalence of complications and postoperative procedures compared to NPGS-alone,while no significant difference existed for surgical ***:Phaco-NPGS superior to NPGS-alone in the reduction of IOP and ***-NPGS can be recommended for glaucoma patients with coexisting cataracts owing to its superior efficacy,fewer complications,and postoperative procedures.

Main controlling factor and mechanism of gas-in-place content of the Lower Cambrian shale from different sedimentary facies in the western Hubei area, South China

The Lower Cambrian shale gas in the western Hubei area,South China has a great resource prospect,but the gas-in-place(GIP)content in different sedimentary facies varies widely,and the relevant mechanism has been not well *** the present study,two sets of the Lower Cambrian shale samples from the Wells YD4 and YD5 in the western Hubei area,representing the deep-water shelf facies and shallowwater platform facies,respectively,were investigated on the differences of pore types,pore structure and methane adsorption capacity between them,and the main controlling factor and mechanism of their methane adsorption capacities and GIP contents were *** results show that the organic matter(OM)pores in the YD4 shale samples are dominant,while the inorganic mineral(IM)pores in the YD5 shale samples are primary,with underdeveloped OM *** pore specific surface area(SSA)and pore volume(PV)of the YD4 shale samples are mainly from micropores and mesopores,respectively,while those of the YD5 shale samples are mainly from micropores and macropores,*** methane adsorption capacity of the YD4 shale samples is significantly higher than that of the YD5 shale samples,with a maximum absolute adsorption capacity of 3.13 cm^(3)/g and 1.31 cm^(3)/g in average,*** with the shallow-water platform shale,the deep-water shelf shale has a higher TOC content,a better kerogen type and more developed OM pores,which is the main mechanism for its higher adsorption *** GIP content models based on two samples with a similar TOC content selected respectively from the Wells YD4 and YD5 further indicate that the GIP content of the deep-water shelf shale is mainly 34 m^(3)/t within a depth range of 1000—4000 m,with shale gas exploration and development potential,while the shallow-water platform shale has normally a GIP content of<1 m^(3)/t,with little shale gas *** the geological and geochemical conditions of shale gas formation a

Zinc-based metal-organic frameworks as efficient carriers for anticancer drug to reduce toxicity and increase efficacy

The rational design of a specific co-drug delivery platform that can address the unavoidable resistance, toxic side effects and low targeting efficiency of traditional cancer treatments is of great ***, Zn-based MOF-zeolitic imidazole framework-90(ZIF-90) was selected as the drug delivery carrier, with the cancer therapeutic drug mercaptopurine(6-MP) and glucose oxidase(GOD) as the drug models, hyaluronic acid(HA) was used for protection and targeted delivery, which designed and fabricated an intelligent drug delivery platform(6-MP@ZIF-90@GOD@HA). This platform aims to reduce the toxic side effects of 6-MP and enhance its efficacy while improving the targeting ability of GOD,thereby further enhancing the treatment outcome. Notably,results from both in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate that the targeted synergistic chemo/reactive oxygen species(ROS)-mediated/starvation therapy inhibited the cancer cell growth while reducing the chemotherapy toxicity, which provides new possibilities for the development of more precise and effective treatment strategies.

LncRNA MEG3 Inhibits the Epithelial-mesenchymal Transition of Bladder Cancer Cells through the Snail/E-cadherin Axis

Dual Frequency Transformer for Efficient SDR-to-HDR Translation

The SDR-to-HDR translation technique can convert the abundant standard-dynamic-range (SDR) media resources to high-dynamic-range (HDR) ones, which can represent high-contrast scenes, providing more realistic visual experiences. While recent vision Transformers have achieved promising performance in many low-level vision tasks, there are few works attempting to leverage Transformers for SDR-to-HDR translation. In this paper, we are among the first to investigate the performance of Transformers for SDR-to-HDR translation. We find that directly using the self-attention mechanism may involve artifacts in the results due to the inappropriate way to model long-range dependencies between the low-frequency and high-frequency components. Taking this into account, we advance the self-attention mechanism and present a dual frequency attention (DFA), which leverages the self-attention mechanism to separately encode the low-frequency structural information and high-frequency detail information. Based on the proposed DFA, we further design a multi-scale feature fusion network, named dual frequency Transformer (DFT), for efficient SDR-to-HDR translation. Extensive experiments on the HDRTV1K dataset demonstrate that our DFT can achieve better quantitative and qualitative performance than the recent state-of-the-art methods. Gastrin,somatostatin,G and D cells of gastric ulcer in rats

AIM: To investigate the relationship among gastrin, somatostatin, G and D cells in gastric ulcer and in its healing process in rats. METHODS: Fourty-nine Wistar rats were divided into 7 groups. The gastric ulcer model was induced by acetic acid successfully. The gastrin and the somatostatin in rat plasma, gastric fluid and antral tissue were measured by radioimmunoassay(RIA). G and D cells in antral mucosa were analyzed with polyclonal antibody of gastrin and somatostatin by immunohistochemical method and Quantimet 500 image analysis system. RESULTS: In gastric ulcer, the level of gastrin in plasma, gastric fluid, and antral tissue increased, that of somatostatin declined, and the disorder gradually recovered to the normal level in the healing process. Immunohistochemical technique of G and D cells in antral mucosa demonstrated that the number of G cells increased and that of D cells decreased, both areas of G and D cells declined, the ratio of number and area of G/D increased in gastric ulcer, and the disorder gradually recovered in the healing process. CONCLUSION: In gastric ulcer, the increased gastrin secreted by G cells, the declined somatostatin secreted by D cells, and the disordered G/D cell ratio can lead to gastrointestinal dysfunction.

Nutrient transport following water transfer through the world's largest water diversion channel

Nutrient levels in the artificial channel constructed for the Middle Route Project are significant indicators of water quality safety and aquatic ecological integrity for this large,interbasin ***,the distribution and transport of nutrients along the channel were poorly *** on a time-series dataset as well as mass balance and material flow analysis methods,the water and nutrient transport fluxes in the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project were identified in this *** results indicate that the nutrient concentrations varied considerably with time,but there was no significant difference among the 30 stations of the main *** temperature difference was the major factor in the large fluctuations of water quality indicators over *** nutrient loadings varied with the water volume outputs from the main channel to the waterreceiving *** deposition was an important source of nutrients in the main channel,accounting for 9.13%,20.6%,and 0.635%of the nitrogen,phosphorus,and sulfur input from the Danjiangkou Reservoir,*** 2021,a net accumulation of 988 tons of N,29 tons of P,and 2,540 tons of S,respectively,were present in the main *** increase of these external and internal nutrient loadings would cause water quality fluctuation and deterioration in some local sections of the main *** study quantified the spatial and temporal patterns of nutrient transport in the Middle Route and revealed the ecological effects on the aquatic environment,assisting authorities on the project to develop effective water conservation strategies.

Aero-structural design of joined-wing aircraft based on high-fidelity model
