Corrosion resistance of BN-ZrO_(2)ceramics with different additives by molten steel

BN–ZrO_(2)ceramics with different additives such as SiC,Al_(2)O_(3) and MgAl_(2)O_(4) were fabricated by hot pressing sintering process to study sintering properties and corrosion resistance by the rotary immersion molten steel *** results showed that SiC,Al_(2)O_(3) and MgAl_(2)O_(4) can improve the sintering properties of BN–ZrO_(2)ceramics;especially,the introduction of SiC can significantly improve the hardness of the material;thus,the above compounds will help to improve the wear resistance of BN–ZrO_(2)*** exposed oxide layer is in contact with molten steel and forms liquid phase after BN oxidation and B_(2)O_(3) volatilization,additives can significantly affect the properties of liquid phase,and m-ZrO_(2)grains are sintered and grown by dissolution–precipitation mechanism by liquid ***,Al_(2)O_(3) and MgAl_(2)O_(4) are more conducive to the formation of working layer with solid skeleton,which determines the corrosion resistance of BN–ZrO_(2)ceramics.

In order to recover valuable rare earth elements from Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet scraps, a high-temperature pyrometallurgical process was developed in this work. The magnet scraps were first pulverized and oxidized at 1000℃ in normal atmosphere. The oxidized mixtures were then selectively reduced by carbon in the temperature range of 1400-1550℃. In this way, the rare earth elements were extracted to the form of oxides, whereas Fe and B were separated to metal phase. For improving the purity of rare earth oxides, the effects of temperature and reaction time on the reduction of B_(2)O_(3) in oxide phase were investigated. It is found that increasing reaction temperature and extending reaction time will help the reduction of B_(2)O_(3) contents in rare earth oxide phase. Almost all rare earth elements can be enriched in the oxide phase with the highest purity of 95 %.

The development of effective and sustainable solutions for pleiotropic water purification becomes urgent and *** Fenton-like catalysts for activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)to purify organic wastewater show great *** this work,by tuning metal loading with an in-situ polydopamine coating strategy,oxygen vacancy-enriched Co_(3)O_(4) loading on N-doped carbon nanotubes(CNTs)were constructed to enhance PMS activation efficiency for pollutants ***,the obtained modified CNTs afford a well-developed N-containing network structure,which is further endowed with abundant Co(Ⅱ)/Co(Ⅲ)redox cycles and significant metal-carbon *** particular,the surface N doping in CNTs might induce the oriented enrichment of pollutants around the catalyst,which reduces the migration distance and correspondingly improves the utilization of reactive oxidative *** electron transfer efficiency of the catalyst can be further improved by incorporating oxygen vacancy-enriched Co_(3)O_(4).The performance results show that the optimal NC/Co-1 could mineralize 20×10^(-6)of bisphenol A(BPA)by almost 98%in 8 min.A low reaction activation energy(26.05 kJ·mol^(-1))in BPA degradation was demonstrated by the NC/*** importantly,NC/Co-1 can inherit excellent degradation performance towards oxytetracycline,2,4-dichlorophenol,and tetracycline,showing wide practical *** addition,by virtue of the photothermal conversion property,NC/Co-1 achieves an additive function for interfacial solar water evaporation(1.84 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1),112.51%),showing impressive potential for clean water recovery under complicated environmental pollution conditions.

Study on stable and meta-stable carbides in a high speed steel for rollers during tempering processes

A high speed steel （HSS） was studied for rollers in this work. The steel was quenched at 1150℃ and tempered at 520℃. The phase structures of the steel were determined by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, and the hardness of specimens was measured. The volume fraction of carbides was counted by Image-Pro Plus software. The typical microstructures were observed by field emission scanning electron microscope （FESEM）. Stable and meta-stable carbides were deduced by removing the existing phases one by one in the Fe-C equilibrium calculation. It is found that the precipitated carbides are bulk-like MC, long stripe-like M2C, fishbone-like M6C, and daisy-like M7C3 during the tempering process. The stable carbides are MC and M6C, but the meta-stable ones are M2C, M7C3, and M3C.

TiO2 tri-layer structure films were modified by C-ions implantation for improving the photovoltaic perfor- mance of dye-sensitized solar cells （DSSCs）, in which the structure of TiOa changes from rutile to anatase and the sizes of TiOa particles increase. The optimal concentration of ions implantation for C-implanted cells is 1 ~ 1015 ***-2, and the maximum conversion efficiency of 5.32 % is achieved （luminous intensity of 1 sun, light irradiance of ***）, which is 25.2 % higher than that of unimplanted cell. The significant improvement in conversion efficiency by carbon- ion implantation is contributed to reducing charge recombi- nation and enhancing the light-harvesting ability, as indicated from incident photon-to-collected electron conversion effi- ciency （IPCE） and ultraviolet-visible （UV-Vis） measure- ments. Furthermore, the charge carrier＇s lifetime in the tri- layer titania films is prolonged after carbon-ion implantations.

Due to limited data on the geochemical properties of natural gas,estimations are needed for the effective gas source rock in evaluating gas ***,the pronounced heterogeneity of mudstones in lacustrine successions complicates the prediction of the presence and geochemical characteristics of gas source *** this paper,the Liaohe Subbasin of Northeast China is used as an example to construct a practical methodology for locating effective gas source rocks in typical lacustrine *** types of gas source rocks,microbial,oil-type,and coal-type,were distinguished according to the different genetic types of their natural gas.A practical three-dimensional geological model was developed,refined,and applied to determine the spatial distribution of the mudstones in the Western Depression of the Liaohe Subbasin and to describe the geochemical characteristics(the abundance,type,and maturation levels of the organic matter).Application of the model in the subbasin indicates that the sedimentary facies have led to heterogeneity in the mudstones,particularly with respect to organic matter *** effective gas source rock model constructed for the Western Depression shows that the upper sequence(SQ2)of the Fourth member(Mbr 4)of the Eocene Shahejie Formation(Fm)and the lower and middle sequences(SQ3 and SQ4)of the Third member(Mbr 3)form the principal gas-generating *** total volume of effective gas source rocks is estimated to be 586 km^(3).The effective microbial,oil-type,and coal-type gas source rocks are primarily found in the shallow western slope,the central sags,and the eastern slope of the Western Depression,*** study provides a practical approach for more accurately identifying the occurrence and geochemical characteristics of effective natural gas source rocks,enabling a precise quantitative estimation of natural gas reserves.

Characteristics of fecal microbiota in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients

This study was designed to investigate the gut microbiota of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The inclusive and exclusive criteria for NAFLD patients and healthy subjects were formulated, and detailed clinical data were collected. The genomic DNA of stool samples were extracted for 16 S r DNA sequencing, and the amplified V4-region was sequenced on the Illumina Miseq platform. Metastats analysis was performed to identify the differential taxa between the groups. Redundancy analysis was used to evaluate the association between gut microbial structure and clinical variables. Thirty NAFLD patients and37 healthy controls were involved. The 16 S r DNA sequencing showed that there was a dramatic variability of the fecal microbiota among all the individuals. Metastats analysis identified eight families and 12 genera with significant differences between the two groups. When some clinical parameters, such as waist-to-hip ratio(WHR) and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR), were enrolled in Redundancy analysis, the distribution of the two group of samples was obviously changed. The compositional shifts in fecal bacterial communities of NAFLD patients from the healthy controls were mainly at family or genus levels. According to our Redundancy analysis, insulin resistance and obesity might be closely related to both NAFLD phenotype and intestinal microecology.
