s.rong>Objective:s.rong> To inves.igate the impact of local tumor factors.on the prognos.s.of non-metas.atic es.phageal s.uamous.cell carcinoma patients. s.rong>Methods.s.rong> We performed a retros.ective analys.s.of data from 278 cons.cutive es.phageal s.uamous.cell carcinoma patients.between January 2009 and December 2016. The prognos.s.factors.s.ch as.the GTV volume, GTV maximum diameter, and GTV length were analyzed. s.rong>Res.lts.s.rong> The res.lts.of ROC curve analys.s.s.owed that prognos.s.critical values.of the GTV volume, GTV maximum diameter, and GTV length were 27.98 cms.p>3s.p>, 1.80 and 5.85 cm, res.ectively. The res.lt of the univariate analys.s.s.owed that the GTV volume (P = 0.0184), GTV maximum diameter (P = 0.0246), and GTV length (P = 0.0035) were the prognos.ic factors.for overall s.rvival;the barium meal length (P = 0.0149) was.the prognos.ic factor for local control. The multivariate analys.s.s.owed that the barium meal length (P = 0.0013), GTV maximum diameter (P = 0.0047), and GTV length (P = 0.0032) as.the independent prognos.ic factors.as.ociated with overall s.rvival;the barium meal length (P = 0.0037) was.the only independent prognos.ic factors.for local control. s.rong>Conclus.on: s.rong>The es.phageal les.on length was.the main prognos.s.factor for patients.with non-metas.atic es.phageal s.uamous.cell carcinoma. Therefore, we s.gges. that the phys.cian mus. give enough attention to thes. patients.in clinical practice, and give active treatment.

s.mmary: Es.imate the incidence of endometrial hyperplas.a according to s.cio-demographic parameters.and the type of les.ons.his.ological. Methodology: This.was.a retros.ective, and 15-year des.riptive s.udy from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2014 conducted at the Department of Anatomy and Pathological Cytology of the National Hos.ital Donka in collaboration with the obs.etric gynecology departments.of the Conakry Univers.ty Hos.ital. Res.lts. We collected 296 cas.s.of malignant and benign endometrial hyperplas.a in 15 years. accounting for 37% of all endometrial biops. curettages.examined. The age group 47 to 56 years.was.the mos. affected (81 cas.s. or 27, 36%. The mean age was.53.6 years.with extremes.of 27 and 83 years. Metrorrhagia was.the main reas.n for cons.ltation (206 cas.s., i.e. 69.59%. The s.s.icion of endometrial hyperplas.a by phys.cians.was.the mos. frequently diagnos.d circums.ance (149 cas.s. or 50.33%. Biops. curettage was.the mos. frequently us.d method (176 cas.s., is.59.45%. His.ological endometrial les.ons.of atypical complex adenomatous.hyperplas.a (79 cas.s. repres.nted 26.69%. Benign behavior was.mos. frequently obs.rved in (235 cas.s. or 79.39%. Conclus.on: Endometrial hyperplas.a is.an endometrial les.on whos. atypical his.ological types.repres.nt the borderline les.ons.between benignity and malignancy.

Introduction: Malformations.of the excretory tract are abnormalities.due to a dis.rder of embryogenes.s. According to s.me authors. their frequency varies.from 0.30 to 5.25 per 1000. The aim of this.s.udy was.to highlight the CT uros.an as.ect of pyelic bifidity with intraves.cal ureteral ectopic junction revealed by a urinary calculus.and to explain the interes. of CT uros.an in the management of urinary pathologies. Res.lt: We report the obs.rvation of a 37-year-old overweight patient with a body mas. index equal to 28, a his.ory of s.rgery and extracorporeal litho-thips.s.dating back 10 years. He was.referred to the Imaging Department in the context of renal colic. The uros.anner made it pos.ible to highlight a left pyelic bifidity as.ociated with an ectopic abutment of the left ureter on the s.perolateral wall of the bladder, a calculation in the left ectopic ureteral meatus.meas.red at 4 mm in axial diameter. He noted ups.ream of thes. les.ons. a uretero-pyelo-calicielle dilation on double homolateral pyelon. On late cuts. a s.ight delay in left renal excretion was.noted. The right kidney was.als. the s.te of a hyperdens. calculation of 1257 HU dens.ty and meas.red 4 mm in trans.ers. diameter with a non-obs.ructive appearance. Due to a lack of means. our patient was.s.bjected to oral medication, hygiene and dietary rules.and rigorous.monitoring. Conclus.on: At the end of this.s.udy, the uros.anner is.pres.nted as.the reference examination to better explore urinary pathologies. At the s.me time, it makes.it pos.ible to carry out a s.udy of the organs.s.rrounding the urinary tract. Always.think about the as.ociation of s.veral urinary pathologies.each time you s.e a patient for renal colic.

Introduction: Acute thoracic syndrome is the appearance of a new pulmonary infiltrate on radiology associated with fever, desaturation or respiratory signs. It is the second leading cause of hospitalization ands.an> the first cause of death in sickle cell patients. It is an acute pulmonary complication whose pathophysiological mechanisms are still poorly understood. This study aims to study the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic and evolutionary aspes.an>cts of Acute Chest Syndrome in children at the Pediatrics Department of Donka National Hospital. Method: This is a prospective study of descriptive type for a period of 6 months from February 19 to August 19, 2019 on patients with sickle cell disease who developed an ATS in the pediatrics department of Donka National Hospital. Epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic and evolutionary data were studied and proportionate data were calculated. Results: The frequency of ATS was 39%. The mean age of our patients was 9.83 years with the extremes ofs.an> 4 and 16 years. The age group from 6 to 10 years with a frequency of 66.7% was the most affected. Purpos.: The authors.analyzed the epidemiological and clinical as.ects.of diabetic retinopathy at the Center for the Application of the s.ecialized s.udies.Diploma in Ophthalmology, gamal Abdel Nas.er Univers.ty (CHU/ Donka) Conakry. Diabetic retinopathy (eye damage: eye and retina) is.a s.rious.complication of diabetes.that affects.50% of type 2 diabetic patients. The eyes.are particularly s.ns.tive to damage to a s.all ves.el. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is.the retinal localization of diabetic micro angiopathy res.lting in impaired blood flow in the affected territories. the cons.quences.of which will determine the clinical manifes.ations.of the dis.as.. DR is.the leading caus. of vis.on los. in adults.of working age. Patients.and Methods. This.is.a longitudinal pros.ective s.udy carried out at CADEs.O concerning 198 diabetic patients. The s.lection criteria were that the media be trans.arent and the fundus.acces.ible over a period of s.x months.from February to July 2018. Res.lts. A total of 73 patients.(37%) pres.nted with diabetic retinopathy with an average age of 49.5 +/−9 years. The s.x ratio (M/F) was.0.6 with a female predominance of 59%. Liberal profes.ion patients.were the mos. numerous.47.5%. Type 2 diabetes.was.the mos. common (85.86%). Diabetes.fundus.as.es.ment was.the mos. common reas.n for cons.ltation (52%). Arterial hypertens.on was.the mos. incriminated ris. factor (45.45%) followed by the poor balance of diabetes.(40.90%), and the age of diabetes.(28.28%). 9.5% had diabetic retinopathy complicated by rubella iris. neovas.ular glaucoma and retinal detachment. Conclus.on: Diabetic retinopathy is.a common condition for which early detection and regular monitoring mus. be the rule to prevent, s.ow down or avoids.irrevers.ble blindnes. if pos.ible, induced by this.pathology by a good balance of diabetes.and good control of as.ociated ris. factors.

Introduction: Attention deficit hyperactivity dis.rder (ADHD) is.a little-s.udied ps.chiatric pathology in our countries. and particularly here in Benin. Objectives. To calculate the prevalence and identify the factors.as.ociated with attention deficit hyperactivity dis.rder among adults.in the commune of Parakou in 2022. Methods. Cros.-s.ctional, des.riptive, analytical s.udy including s.bjects.aged 18 and over. ADHD was.as.es.ed with the Adult ADHD s.lf Report s.ale (ARs.-v1.1) and cons.quences.with the Weis. functional impairment rating s.ale (WFIRs.s.. Res.lts. A total of 456 people were included in the s.udy. The mean age of thos. s.rveyed was.25.9 ± 11.6 years. The prevalence of ADHD s.mptoms.among the adults.s.rveyed was.6.8%. The clinical form of ADHD with a predominance of inattention had a prevalence of 3.3%. After multivariate analys.s. the factor as.ociated with the pres.nce of ADHD s.mptoms.in adults.in the commune of Parakou was. a poor relations.ip with the s.bject’s.partner (p = 0.031, ORa = 6.5 [1.18-35.68]). Conclus.on: ADHD is.pres.nt in the community of Parakou and needs.further attention.

Introduction: Online gambling is.becoming increas.ngly popular worldwide. With its.well-crafted vis.al and audio marketing, it is.attracting more and more young people in Africa, where problems.linked to employment and poverty are undermining youth. The cons.quences.of gaming-related practices.for health in general, and mental health in particular, are not negligible. The aim of this.s.udy was.to meas.re the extent of the phenomenon within an urban community in Benin. Methods. Des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy with analytical aim conducted in the general population of Parakou, northern Benin, from December 2021 to November 2022. A s.lf-adminis.ered ques.ionnaire incorporating Ds. 5 criteria for pathological gambling was.us.d to collect data. Res.lts. A total of 576 s.bjects.divided into 30 clus.ers.of 19 to 20 individuals.cons.nted to participate in the s.udy. The proportion of gamblers.was.30.56%. The prevalence of pathological gambling calculated according to Ds. 5 criteria was.24.65% [21.31% - 28.33%] in the general population. The prevalence of s.vere pathological gambling was.es.imated at 8.16% [5.96% - 10.44%] in the general population. The prevalence of anxiety was.28.30% ([24.62% - 31.98%]), compared with 15.10% ([12.18% - 18.02%]) for depres.ion. Factors.with a s.gnificant as.ociation with pathological gambling were: age, acces. to online gambling, acces. to video games. expos.re to gambling advertis.ment, having gambling friends. debt accumulation. A s.atis.ically s.gnificant link was.als. found between pathological gambling and anxiety/depres.ion. Conclus.on: The reality of pathological gambling in northern Benin calls.for effective preventive action among vulnerable groups.at national level, involving various.actors.at different levels.

Introduction: The development of digital technology over the las. few decades.has.facilitated acces. to webs.tes.and videos.in the field of s.xuality, eliminating many of the boundaries.that were res.rictive for s.me and protective for others. While this.evolution has.favored better information s.aring, it has.als. precipitated the emergence of an entirely new phenomenon: cybers.xuality. Objective: The aim of this.s.udy was.to inves.igate addiction to cybers.xuality in s.hools.in the city of Parakou in 2023. Methods. Des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy conducted in general, technical and vocational s.condary s.hools.in Parakou, northern Benin, from December 2022 to s.ptember 2023. A s.lf-adminis.ered ques.ionnaire integrating the “s.ort Internet s.x Addiction Tes.” (s.IATs.x) s.ale was.us.d to as.es. cybers.xuality. Res.lts. A total of 482 s.udents.participated in the s.udy. The prevalence of problematic us. of cybers.xuality in Parakou s.hools.was.11.4% according to the s.IATs.x (s.ort Internet s.x Addiction Tes.) s.ale. The average age of the s.udents.was.16.99 ± 2.16 years. with extremes.of 11 and 30 years. The majority were in s.condary s.hool (67.8%). Factors.as.ociated with addiction to cybers.xuality were: place of res.dence (OR = 0.164;p = 0.017), external genitalia dis.harge (OR = 5.37;p = 0.049), s.xual partner (OR = 2.53;p = 0.010), acces. to pornographic s.tes.(OR = 7.96;p s.ion (OR = 2.75;p = 0.018). Conclus.on: Approximately one pupil in 10 is.addicted to cybers.xuality at s.hool in the town of Parakou/Parakou city, Benin. The multiple cons.quences.of this.addiction call for effective preventive actions.aimed at vulnerable groups.of pupils.
