Cytomegalovirus is the most frequent agent of congenital viral infections,affecting approximately 0.2%-2.4%of live births in different countries[1-7].Universal screening for congenital cytomegalovirus infection in newborns is not a standard practice considering cost-benefit issues and viabil-ity of diagnostic ***,most newborns are asympto-matic and there is no effective treatment for this population[2-5].

The present work investigates the entropy and the excitation inversion of a coupled system that consists of a qubit represented by a Cooper pair box(CPB) interacting with a transmission line working as a circuit quantum electrodynamics(CQED). The proposed scheme uses the Buck-Sukumar model with a time dependent frequency in the presence of losses to study the evolution of the entropy and the excitation inversion of the system. We have shown that the CQED is much more sensitive to the presence of losses than the CPB. The results also show that it is possible to monitor properties of the subsystems through appropriate choices of the time-dependent parameters.

The formation and evolution of cosmic string wakes in the framework of a f(R) theory of gravity are investigated in this work. We consider a simple model in which baryonic matter flows past a cosmic string. We treat this problem in the Zel’dovich approximation. We compare our results with previous results obtained in the context of General Relativity and Scalar-Theories of Gravity.

Aims The diversity and structure of forest edges are a central issue in ***,most studies have focused on anthropogenic for-est edges,being natural ones least *** studied the com-munities of shrubs and trees in natural edges of gallery forests with the main goal of learning what are the main factors that shape the structure and diversity of these natural sharp *** We evaluated 10 gallery forest sites,allocating in each of them three 15×20 m *** plots were laid out in relatively rectilinear stretches of forest edges,respecting a minimal distance of 10 m between each *** they are permanent plots and meant to study eventual fluctuations in the forest-grasslands limits,we allocated the plots with their longest side parallel to the forest edge and covering perpendicularly 5 m of the grassland and 10 m of *** the plots we identified,mapped and measured all shrub and tree individuals with diameter at breast height(DBH)≥1 *** Findings Although many differences exist among the communities in terms of density and basal area,all of them were highly dense and had relatively low basal *** addition,both the number of individu-als and the basal area increased rapidly towards the forest *** results also revealed that the edge communities are composed mainly by small individuals that demand a great amount of *** the vertical stratification and the proportion of the functional groups are similar among the sites yet change quickly in the first 10 m of the forest ***,the floristic similarities were low among the communities mainly due to the species turnover within each ***,although the overall structure is constant in the studied edges,the low floristic similarity among them possibly indicates that the species within the same functional groups are sub-stituting each other across the *** older and seemingly stable,our results showed the gallery forest edges are quite simila

Aims Gallery forests within grasslands have natural edges with open envi-ronments and offer a unique opportunity to examine how species performances vary across environmental ***,we asked if demographic rates of tree functional groups varied along the edge,if we could explain differences in plant strategies and performance through functional traits and which traits increase growth and sur-vival in natural *** We examine mortality and recruitment within the first 10 m of nat-ural edges of eight gallery forests using demographic data from five annual *** defined a priori plant strategies using tree functional groups:light demanding,pioneer and shade *** Findings The shade-tolerant group had the lowest mortality rates and basal area(BA)loss,while pioneer and light-demanding species had similar behavior for these *** survival and growth of functional groups were affected differently by the distance from the *** pioneer group survived more near the edge,while light-demanding and shade-tolerant groups toward the forest *** groups had higher growth in the *** differences could be explained by functional traits since most species have an acquisition strategy:higher specific leaf area and growth,lower leaf dry matter con-tent,lighter stem density,deeper crowns and less slender *** traits enhanced ***,mortality selected both strategies,but in distinct edge’s *** study showed that the high diversity found in natural edges can be explained by a niche and functional perspective,where differences in functional traits lead to differential performance along the environmental gradient.

Purpose: To verify evidence of subclinical alterations through self-reported participation restrictions in normal hearing individuals and congenital hypothyroidism ***: An analytical, quantitative, cross-sectional exploratory study with a 1:1 ratio, consisting of a convenience sample of 86 normal hearing individuals with(n = 42) and without(n = 44) congenital hypothyroidism diagnosis. All participants underwent tonal and speech audiometry, immitance and distortion product otoacoustic emissions. The researchers excluded people with hearing loss, genetic syndromes and metabolic diseases. The instrument used for evaluate of self-reported participation restrictions was the HHIE-adapted questionnaire, composed of 25 questions, 12 of which were social domain and 13 emotional domain. Student's ttest and chi-square test were used for statistical analysis at a significance level of 5%.Results: There was a significant(p derate(40.5%)and higher prevalence of association with clinical factors and adherence to ***: The findings indicate that self-reported participation restrictions in normal hearing individuals with congenital hypothyroidism was more significant than in the non-exposed group, suggesting evidence of subclinical auditory abnormalities in this population.

Root Canal Treatment Outcome and Restorative Condition of Teeth Treated by Undergraduates—A Clinical and Radiographic Evaluation

Background: The aim was to evaluate the nonsurgical Root Canal Treatment (nRCT) outcome, the restorative condition and the relationship between the coronal restoration quality and the outcome of teeth endodontic treated by undergraduates at the University of Caxias do Sul School of dentistry (UCS-SD), Brazil, between 2019 and 2021. Materials and Methods: Data from the endodontically treated cases were retrieved, and the patients were recalled for a follow-up appointment at the university. The endodontic diagnosis, radiographs, and the presence of definitive restorations were analyzed in the clinical records. During the follow-up appointment, endodontically treated teeth were classified as present or absent. The nRCT was classified as successful (complete or incomplete healing) or failure (uncertain or unsatisfactory healing). Coronal restoration was classified as absent or present. When it was present, it was classified as permanent or temporary, and its quality as adequate or inadequate restoration. The results were presented as percentages. Results: A total of 257 teeth were endodontically treated. The most prevalent diagnosis was Chronic Apical Periodontitis (33.33%) and the most commonly treated teeth were premolars (46.15%). A total of 52 (21%) treated teeth were clinically and radiographically reexamined. The success rate for the nRCT was 98.08%. About 61.54% of this sample had a definitive composite resin restoration. Conclusion: The nRCT success rate was high. Special attention should be given to the presence and quality of the definitive restoration. Clinical Implications: There was no statistically significant impact between the coronal restoration and the nRCT success (P > 0.05).

The pandemic of the new coronavirus(COVID-19)may be affecting the physical activity(PA)level in much of the *** study aimed to investigate the prevalence of physical inactivity and sedentary behavior(SB)among adults with chronic diseases and their associations with sociodemographic factors during the COVID-19 *** cross-sectional study included 249 participants(age:18-91 years;61.4%female)with chronic conditions and attended the Family Health Strategy program in a small town in *** were collected between 2020-07-13 and 2020-07-24 by face-to-face ***-reported PA,sitting time,chronic diseases,medication use,sociodemographic data,and self-isolation adherence were obtained by *** this specific time point of the COVID-19 pandemic,71.5%of participants did not meet the PA recommendations(≥500 METs-min/week),and the prevalence of SB risk(≥4 h sitting)was 62.7%.Adjusted logistic regression indicated that male participants(odds ratio[OR]:1.89[95%CI 1.02-3.53]),living alone(OR:2.92[95%CI 1.03-8.30])or in a two-person household(OR:2.32[95%CI 1.16-4.63]),and those who reported sometimes performing self-isolation(OR:3.07[95%CI 1.47-6.40])were more likely to meet the minimum PA *** smokers had a lower odds(OR:0.36[95%CI 0.14-0.95])of meeting the PA *** participants(OR:2.18[95%CI 1.06-4.50])and those who had multimorbidity(OR:1.92[95%CI 1.07-3.44])were more likely to have a higher degree of *** is an urgent need to mitigate physical inactivity and SB,and public health interventions must take into account sociodemographic status.
