In order to increase the understanding about Arthrospira platensis biomass use to plant growth promotion, the aim of this study was to determine total free amino acid content on lyophilized biomass and the biomass bioactivity on bioassay, as well as, the effects of foliar applications of aqueous suspension of biomass on seedlings growth ascertaining biochemical variables related to the potential bioactivity, and also at field on organically grown red beet yield. The results identified the bioactivity and expressed well the capacity of plant growth promotion related to stimulus on chlorophyll synthesis and on amino acid and protein increments on seedlings leaves. The yield had significant improvement related to hypocotyl growth. The results could be justified by the content of free amino acids on biomass, being them the highest amount of potential bioactive compounds of cyanobacteria. The Arthrospira platensis lyophilized biomass could be considered an efficient biofertilizer-biostimulant source, promoting yield gains by a sustainable way.

Background:Muscular strength can be conceptually determined by two components:muscle activation and *** activation by the central nervous system can be measured by surface electromyography(sEMG).Muscular size reflects the amount of contractile protein within a skeletal muscle and can be estimated by anthropometric *** purpose of this study was to determine the relative contributions of size parameters and muscle activation to the prediction of maximal voluntary isometric elbow flexion strength. Methods:A series of anthropometric measurements were taken from 96 *** and root-mean-square(RMS) of the sEMG from the biceps brachii were averaged across three maximal voluntary isometric contractions.A multiple linear regression analysis was performed based on a Pearson’s correlation matrix. Results:Body weight(BW) accounted for 39.1% and 27.3% in males and females,respectively,and was the strongest predictor of strength for *** length(L3) was the strongest predictor of strength in females(partial R^2 = 0.391).Elbow circumference(ELB) accounted for a significant(p ded BW,L3,and ELB accounting for 55.6% and 58.5% of the variance in males and females,respectively. Conclusion:Anthropometrics provide a strong prediction equation for the estimation of isometric elbow flexion *** activation,as measured by sEMG activity,accounted for a significant(p < 0.05) amount of variance in most prediction equations,however,its contribution was comparable to an additional anthropometric variable.

In this work, the effect of the presence of nickel and lead in thermal decomposition of olive tree pruning (OTP), OTP-char and OTP-ashes was studied by thermogravimetry. Experiments were conducted in two kinds of atmosphere (nitrogen atmosphere and oxidizing atmosphere with 20% of O2) at a heating rate of 10 ℃/min. This investigation describes the chemical, physical and fuel properties of the OTP, which shows a similar composition to other lignocellulosic materials such as hazelnut husk and wood sawdust. In addition, SEM analysis indicated that OTP-char surface is higher than OTP surface with plenty of holes and channels. It makes the char an ideal support for metal retention specially for Pb metal (OTP retained 8.55 mg/g whereas OTP char retained 11.57 mg/g). On the other hand, metal retention occurred by adsorption or ion exchange, according to the IR spectrum of the samples. The results of thermogravimetric tests proved that the presence of lead did not have a strong effect on the decomposition of the samples, since TG and DTG curves were very similar. However, nickel increased the mass loss rate, accelerating the decomposition process, showing higher peaks in DTG curves. Additionally, for temperatures higher than 360 ℃, the volatilization of the samples was improved in the nickel-polluted sample, achieving a higher mass loss, getting more energy from the biomass and reducing the quantity of residues left after the process.

Photothermal radiometric spectroscopy was employed for characterizing an aluminum automotive piston with a steel insert. Amplitude and phase thermal property differences allowed the mapping of both metals. Thermal images were generated by using table stages x-y movement. The thermal wave penetrated more deeply in aluminum than in steel. Results demonstrated that this relatively unknown, non-intrusively, non-contact, and non-destructive technique can be used for characterizing a wide variety of metals and other materials.

The environmental impact on the planet leads to the search of new processes that are friendly with the environment and obtaining high quality products. In this sense, green chemistry is used in the generation of products through processes that do not affect the planet. In many of these processes and in general, the use of water has been depleted this resource of vital importance for the survival of living things. In Mexico, 77% of water is used in agriculture;14% in the public supply;5% in the thermoelectric plants and 4% in the industry. In research presented, hydroponics is essential in the process and is defined as a technique used to reduce excessive water consumption, by providing the necessary nutrients, in addition to preventing soil erosion by allowing the growth of plants without use of ground. The potassium polyacrylate is a super-absorbent polymer (Hydrogel) capable of absorbing water up to 500 times of its weight and has a life span of 10 years. When mixed with a substrate, the required nutrient solution potassium polyacrylate allows to lengthen the interval watering and thus reducing the consumption of water from plants. Morelos is the largest producer of ornamental plants in the country, due to its privileged climate and location. In the present work using the hydroponic methodology, we planted cuttings of Bethlehem New Guinea (Impatiens New Guinea) in a substrate made by 60% of coconut fiber, 20% tepojal, 20% ground sheet mixed with polymer of potassium (20 g per litre), 400 ml of Steiner nutrient solution in concentrations of 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%, varying the interval of 3-, 6-, 8- and 10-day watering. The variables considered are: concentration of chlorophyll, the plant height, leaf area, number of stems and weight dry total. Provisional prosthetic restoration materials are exposed to oral cavity producing on the surface biofilm where different factors such as surface roughness and porosity can condition their formation and organization and can create stagnation areas that promote the bonding of organic particles, thus facilitating the formation and maturation of the biofilm. The purpose of this study was to compare surface roughness of two provisional prosthetic restorations materials and their bacterial susceptibility. In this study, two provisional restoration materials were used in two groups, A polymethyl methacrylate acrylic (NicTone MDC deNTAL) and B bis-acryl resin (Protemp 4 ESPE 3M). A total of 80 samples (40 samples of each material) were in thick plates of 10 × 10 mm and 2 mm high. 20 samples of each material were polished, while 20 were left unpolished. Subsequently, the samples were observed by Atomic Force Microscopy for their evaluation of surface roughness. The values were analyzed with t-test, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis test. The samples were microbiologically inoculated with the strains obtained and identified from a provisional polymethyl methacrylate acrylic restoration in a patient, in order to observe bacterial adhesion using a Scanning Electron Microscope. Two strains, Enterococcus faecalis and Pseudomona luteola, were identified. The presence of the microorganisms was observed on the surface of both materials, either polished or unpolished, with a lower level of microorganism adhesion found on the bis-acrylic resin. There was a significant difference about surface roughness in the groups A and B with p -8). We found that the polished bis-acrylic resin showed lower surface roughness and bacterial adhesion in comparison with the polymethyl methacrylate.

Analysis of agricultural production systems of hydroponic tomato in Morelos state of Mexico, through a systematic approach, called systems development of life cycle (SDLC) was performed by comparing this with the methodology known as life cycle assessment (LCA). This permits to analyze the differences in approaches of all these methodologies to propose improvements in the current system, which can allow an improved assessment of the environmental quality of agricultural products, which often is subject to confusion. That due to measurement parameters are not generally accepted by society, producers and consumers, may ensure that the process is fully sustainable and is considered quite as a green technology processes towards an ecological benefit and therefore for the humanity.
