In this work,several ceria-zirconia based catalysts with very lo w(and equimolar) metal contents were prepared,characterised and tested for the cO oxidatio n reaction(under lean and stoichiometric conditions),trying to emulate those conditions found in a diesel oxidation.c.talyst(DOc) system from a diesel engine and those encountered under gasoline exhaust(λ=1).The metals chosen are cu,co,Ag and Pt(as a reliable benchmark).The results reveal enormous differences among reducibility and catalytic activity despite quite similar structural and textural properties of the catalysts,showing differences among dispersion(Ag-catalyst seems to present a low level of dispersion).This catalyst seems to be characterised,as well,by a strong electron.c.interaction between.c. and Ag centres which is suggested to yield an improved reducibility under H_(2)-TPR ***,the order in.c.talytic activity(cu>Ag>co≈Pt>>support) seems not to follow the order found in reducibility and the cu-catalyst seems to be the most active independently on the reaction.c.nditions,yielding nearly overlapped cO oxidation.c.talytic *** restingly,a stro ng correlation between the catalytic activity under the two conditions tested and the OSc values of the ce_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O_(2)-supported metal catalysts is ***,OSc parameter measured at 150℃ can be used as a relevant descriptor to evaluate the cO oxidation activity at low and medium conversions for the investigated catalysts,much better than the H_(2)-TPR measurements.

Minimally Invasive Surgery for n.c.otizing Pancreatitis: A case Report

Introduction: n.c.otizing pancreatitis management is complex and varies significantly among clin.c.ans. Minimally invasive approaches like transgastric n.c.osectomy via laparoscopy are emerging as effective treatment options. This case report underscores the technique’s efficacy, clin.c.l outcomes, and role in reducing complications. clin.c.l Observation: A 59-year-old male with a history of smoking and alcoholism presented with severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Over the following weeks, he developed symptoms including asthenia, weight loss, and melena. Diagnostic workup revealed severe anemia and Balthazar E n.c.otizing pancreatitis, with significant intra-abdominal fluid collections and signs of infection. After initial conservative management, the patient underwent transgastric n.c.osectomy via laparoscopy due to deteriorating clin.c.l status. The procedure involved removing n.c.otic tissue and performing a cystogastroanastomosis and jejunostomy. Postoperative care included fasting, parenteral nutrition, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and enzymatic replacement. The patient recovered well, with reduced n.c.otic tissue on follow-up imaging, and was discharged twelve days post-surgery [1]. conclusion: Transgastric n.c.osectomy by laparoscopy is a valuable first-line surgical option for patients with symptomatic n.c.otizing pancreatitis, particularly in.c.ses without prior interventions. This minimally invasive technique helps reduce major complications and mortality, offering a less invasive alternative to traditional open n.c.osectomy. The multidisciplinary approach and careful postoperative management were crucial to the patient’s favorable outcome. The case highlights the potential of transgastric n.c.osectomy as an effective treatment strategy in managing complex pancreatitis cases, including those with associated duodenal perforation [2].

AIM:To investigate the prevalence of visual impairment(VI)and provide an estimation of uncorrected refractive errors in school-aged children.c.nducted by optometry students as a community ***:The study was *** 3343 participants were included in the *** initial examination involved assessing the uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA)and visual acuity(VA)while using a+2.00 D *** inclusion.c.iteria for a subsequent comprehensive cycloplegic eye examination,performed by an optometrist,were as follows:a UDVAcimal(0.20 logMAR)and/or a VA with+2.00 D≥0.8 decimal(0.96 logMAR).RESULTS:The sample had a mean age of 10.92±2.13y(range 4 to 17y),and 51.3%of the children were female(n=1715).The majority of the children(89.7%)fell within the age range of 8 to *** the ethn.c.groups,the highest representation was from the Luhya group(60.6%)followed by Luo(20.4%).Mean logMAR UDVA choosing the best eye for each student was 0.29±0.17(range 1.70 to 0.22).Out of the total,246 participants(7.4%)had a full eye *** estimated prevalence of myopia(defined as spherical equivalent≤-0.5 D)was found to be 1.45%of the total *** around 0.18%of the total sample had hyperopia value exceeding+1.75 *** astigmatism(cilnd in 0.21%(7/3343)of the *** VI prevalence was 1.26%of the total *** our cases of VI,76.2%could be attributed to uncorrected refractive *** was detected in 0.66%(22/3343)of the screened *** was no statistically significant correlation observed between age or gender and refractive ***:The primary cause of VI is determined to be uncorrected refractive errors,with myopia being the most prevalent refractive error *** findings underscore the significance of early identification and correction of refractive errors in school-aged children as a means to alleviate the impact of VI.

Effect of carbon, compound RE, quenching temperature, pre-strain and recovery temperature on shape memory effect (SME) of Fe-Mn-Si-ni-c-RE shape memory alloy was studied by bent measurement, thermal cycle training, SEM etc. It was shown that the grains of alloys addition with compound RE became finer and SME increased evidently. SME of the alloy was weakening gradually as carbon.c.ntent increased under small strain (3%). But in the condition of large strain (more than 6%), SME of the alloy whose carbon.c.ntent range from 0.1% to 0.12% showed small decreasing range, especially of alloy with the addition of compound RE. Results were also indicated that SME was improved by increasing quenching temperature (>1000℃). The amount of thermal induced martensite increased and the relative shape recovery ratio could be increased to more than 40% after 3-4 times thermal training. The relative shape recovery ratio decreased evidently depending on rising of pre-strain. Furthermore, because speed of martensite transition was extremely great under higher tempering temperature (more than 450℃, ε → γ transition.c.mpleted in 10s meanwhile the relative shape recovery ratio of the alloy increased rapidly.

This paper presented the microstructure, mechan.c.l properties and oxidation behavior of silicon nitride obtained by both conventional sintering and sintering followed by hot isostatic pressing （HIP）. Silicon nitride with additives such as 5 wt.% Al2O3 and 5 wt.% Ln203 （Ln= La, La concentrate, Gd or La＋Gd） were studied. The results revealed that Gd203 additions increased the formation of elongated grains of β-Si3n4, the fracture toughness and oxidation resistance. La2O3 additions led to higher densification and hardness values, while addition of La2O3 concentrate promoted the formation of materials with intermediate properties, compared to the other studied compositions. Hot isostatic pressing increased the hardness but decreased the fracture toughness of the material, mainly because it allowed residual pores to close and also reduced the average aspect ratio of β-Si3n4 grains.
