Characterizing Shorea robusta communities in the part of Indian Terai landscape

Shorea robusta gaertn. f.（Sal）is one of the important tim-ber-yielding plants in India, which dominates the vegetation of Terai landscape of Uttar Pradesh state in India forming various communities based on its associations. The present study deals with delineation, map-ping and characterization of various communities of Sal （Shorea robusta） forests in Terai landscape of Uttar Pradesh, India ranging across over 16 districts. Field survey and visual interpretation based forest vegetation type classification and mapping was carried out as part of the project entitled ‘Biodiversity characterization at landscape level using remote sensing and gIS’. Indian Remote Sensing-P6 （Resourcesat-1） Linear Imaging Self Scanner-III satellite data was used during the study. The total area covered by different Sal forests was found to be approximately 2256.77 km2. Sal communities were identified and characterized based on their spectral properties, physiognomy and phytosociological charac-teristics. Following nine Sal communities were identified, delineated and mapped with reasonable accuracyviz.,Chandar,Damar, dry plains, moist plains, western alluvium, western alluvium plains, mixed moist deciduous, mixed dry deciduous andSiwalik. It is evident from the area estimates that mixed moist deciduous Sal is the most dominant commu-nity in the region covering around （1613.90 km2）, other major communi-ties were found as western alluvium plains Sal （362.44 km2）, mixed dry deciduous Sal （362.44 km2） and dry plains Sal （107.71 km2）. The Terai landscape of Uttar Pradesh faces tremendous anthropogenic pressure leading to deterioration of the forests. Community level information could be used monitoring the status as well as for micro level conserva-tion and planning of the Sal forests in Terai Landscape of Uttar Pradesh.

Design and simulation of optoelectronic oscillator with micro ring resonator and radio frequency amplifier modelling at 110 gHz

There is an increasing need for high performance oscillators as the faster transmission networks demand for high frequency ***-electronic oscillators(OEO)enable us to make better oscillators in terms of size,weight and *** this paper,photonic integration is proposed for realizing the OEO with micro ring resonator(MRR)and radio-frequency(RF)amplifiers of monolithic microwave integrated circuit(MMIC),which can be used for generating 110 gHz sine *** OEO architecture is proposed and block diagram developed considering Silicon based MRR and three-stage RF amplifier based on ga N high-electron-mobility transistor(HEMT).A simulation model is developed according to the klein model of MRR and is validated against the calculated performance *** dimensions are calculated as with silicon on insulator(SOI)technology and a radius 5.27μm for the device is *** spectral range(FSR)of 48.52 nm and filter rejection ratio of 16.79 d B are obtained for this *** proposed RF amplifier is modelled with ga N parameters derived from high frequency pinch-off model and with power amplifier *** gain for this amplifier is obtained as 10.6 d *** OEO design is developed in this project in such a way that the system can be manufactured with the existing methods.

Halloysite nanotubes(HNTs)have been considered as a promising flame retardant fillers for *** this work,the polyhedral oligomericsilsesquioxane(POSS)containing amino group was covalently grafted on the surface of HNTs with 3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propytrimethoxysilane as a chemical *** POSS modified HNTs(HNTs-POSS)dispersed uniformly in the thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)matrix and endowed TPU nanocomposites with enhanced tensile properties and fire *** calorimeter tests revealed that the introduction of 2 wt%HNTs-POSS to TPU matrix remarkably reduced the peak of heat release rate(PHRR)and total heat release(THR)by 60.0%and 18.3%,*** addition,the peak CO production rate and total smoke release(TSR)could be significantly suppressed by the addition of *** well dispersed HNTs in combination with the ceramified silicon network from the thermal decomposition of POSS contributed to the formation of a continuous and compact char layer,exhibiting a tortuous effect by inhibiting heat diffusion and evaporation of volatile *** addition,the released crystal water from HNTs could dilute the combustible volatiles and then decline the combustion *** tensile tests demonstrated that introduction of 2 wt%HNTs-POSS would enhance the maximum stress of TPU nanocomposite with a slight decrease of elongation at *** combination of HNTs and POSS through the construction of effective interfacial interactions provides a feasible way to effectively enhance the fire safety of TPU nanocomposites without scarifying ductility.

Exploring the merits of geographical diversification of solar PV power plants for a resilient PV-dominated electricity grid in India

India is highly dependent on solar photovoltaics(PV)to harness its vast solar resource potential and combat climate ***,∼90%of the installed PV capacity in India is concentrated in the top nine states,with the remaining states lagging *** research reveals that during monsoons,heavy cloud cover and rain lead to high solar resource variability,intermittency and the risk of very low PV generation,which can result in reliability issues in future PV-dominated electricity *** energy storage can help in overcoming high intermittency,there are multiple challenges associated with *** novelty of this study lies in demonstrating the benefits of combining multiple PV sites in various regions to mitigate the risks of low PV generation and high *** variability of individual sites was found to be up to∼3.5 times higher than the variability of combined *** noon,prominent solar park sites like Bhadla and NP kunta experience a decrease in power generation to values as low as∼10%of the rated PV ***,the minimum generation of the large-scale dispersed PV generation is>30%.Furthermore,the research identifies other benefits of dispersing PV generation across the country,viz.,reduction of seasonal variability by adding PV capacity in the southern region,widening of the PV generation span,more room for PV capacity addition,reduction in storage and ramping needs,utilization of hydroelectric potential of the north-east and PV potential of Ladakh,and creating opportunities for sustainable development in rural agrarian regions through agrivoltaics.

Analytical Hopf Bifurcation and Stability Analysis of T System

Complex dynamics are studied in the T system, a three-dimensional autonomous nonlinear system. In particular, we perform an extended Hopf bifurcation analysis of the system. The periodic orbit immediately following the Hopf bifurcation is constructed analytically for the T system using the method of multiple scales, and the stability of such orbits is analyzed. Such analytical results complement the numerical results present in the literature. The analytical results in the post-bifurcation regime are verified and extended via numerical simulations, as well as by the use of standard power spectra, autocorrelation functions, and fractal dimensions diagnostics. We find that the T system exhibits interesting behaviors in many parameter regimes.

Assessment of SNP and InDel Variations Among Rice Lines of Tulaipanji x Ranjit

genotyping by sequencing(gBS) is the recent approach of next-generation sequencing technique for discovering and genotyping single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in crop species. genotypic variation studies(SNPs and insertion-deletions/In Dels) were performed using four rice lines based on gBS data by aligning to the reference genome Nipponbare. Local aromatic rice landrace Tulaipanji was crossed with Ranjit, and two distinct lines were identified from the progenies: one line with awns and aroma traits and the other without awns and aroma. Total number of SNPs and In Dels identified were 52 810 and 4 327 at read depth 10, respectively. Out of the total polymorphic SNPs/In Dels, 16 490 were intergeneric, 7 812 were inside gene, and 4 435 were intronic. Phylogenetically, Tulaipanji was closer to the reference genome nipponbare. Based on recurrent parent genome analysis, out of 10 013 alleles, 92.52% was introgressed into progeny-awn from Tulaipanji and 7.48% from Ranjit, whereas progeny-awnless carried 89.19% alleles from Ranjit and only 10.81% alleles from Tulaipanji. In addition, progeny-awn was the highest heterozygous(83.88%) and progeny-awnless was the least(2.24%) at this fifth generation of recombinant inbred lines. These SNP variations may be linked to the phenotypic traits and can be utilized in crop improvement through linkage mapping. These results suggest that adding a high density of SNP markers to a mapping or breeding population through gBS has a great value for numerous applications in rice breeding and genetics research.

Optimal reactive power dispatch(ORPD)is a complex and non-linear problem,and is one of the sub-problems of optimal power flow(OPF)in a power *** is formulated as a single-objective problem to minimize the active power loss in a transmission *** this work,power from distributed generation(Dg)is integrated into a conventional power system and the ORPD problem is solved to minimize transmission line power *** proves that the application of Dg not only contributes to power loss minimization and improvement of system stability but also reduces energy consumption from the conventional sources.A recently proposed meta-heuristic algorithm known as the JAYA algorithm is applied to the standard IEEE 14,30,57 and 118 bus systems to solve the newly developed ORPD problem with the incorporation of *** simulation results prove the superiority of the JAYA algorithm over *** respective optimal values of Dg power that should be injected into the four IEEE test systems to obtain the minimum transmission line power losses are also provided.

Objective:To evaluate the in vivo wound healing activity of Acanthus leucostachyus leaf extracts using an excision wound model in ***:Mice were divided into two groups of six animals in each group:the control group and the Acanthus leucostachyus extract-treated *** potential was evaluated by determination of physical parameters(contraction rate,epithelialization period,and tensile strength),biochemical parameters(protein,DNA,and hydroxyproline content),the expression of growth factor and pro-inflammatory cytokines,as well as histological and ultrastructural ***:Treatment with Acanthus leucostachyus leaf extracts markedly increased the rate of wound contraction,tensile strength,the concentrations of protein,DNA,and hydroxyproline,and the expression of growth factor,as well as promoted epithelialization,compared to the *** addition,Acanthus leucostachyus leaf extracts significantly reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory *** and ultrastructural studies revealed the presence of thicker epithelial layer and smoother surface topography in the extract-treated group compared to the ***:Acanthus leucostachyus leaf extracts show potent wound-healing activity and can be used as a wound healing agent.

Bottom Simulating Reflector and gas Seepage in Okinawa Trough:Evidence of gas Hydrate in an Active Back-Arc Basin

To look for gas hydrate, 22 multi-channel and 3 single-channel seismic lines on the East China Sea （ECS） shelf slope and at the bottom of the Okinawa Trough were examined. It was found that there was indeed bottom simulating reflector （BSR） occurrence, but it is very rare. Besides several BSRs, a gas seepage was also found. As shown by the data, both the BSR and gas seepage are all related with local geological structures, such as mud diapir, anticline, and fault-controlled graben-like structure. However, similar structural ＂anomalies＂ are quite common in the tectonically very active Okinawa Trough region, but very few of them have developed BSR or gas seepage. The article points out that the main reason is probably the low concentration of organic carbon of the sediment in this area. It was speculated that the rare occurrence of gas hydrates in this region is governed by structure-controlled fluid flow. Numerous faults and fractures form a network of high-permeability channels in the sediment and highly fractured igneous basement to allow fluid circulation and ventilation. Fluid flow in this tectonic environment is driven primarily by thermal buoyancy and takes place on a wide range of spatial scales. The fluid flow may play two roles to facilitate hydrate formation： to help gather enough methane into a small area and to modulate the thermal regime.
