Bioconvection research is primarily focused on the augmentation of energy and mass species,which has implications in the processes intensification,mechanical,civil,electronics,and chemical engineering *** bioconvection technology sectors include cooling systems for electronic devices,building insulation,and geothermal nuclear waste ***,the present investigation is mainly discoursing the impact of Marangoni convention Casson nanoliquid flow under gyrotactic microorganisms over the porous *** partial differential equations(PDEs)are re-structured into ordinary differential equations(ODEs)via suitable similar *** ODEs are numerically solved with the help of the spectral relaxation method(SRM).The numerical outcomes are illustrated graphically for various parameters over velocity,temperature,concentration,and bioconvection ***-dimensional(3 D)views of important engineering parameters are illustrated for various *** velocity of the Casson nanoliquid increases with increasing the Marangoni parameter but decreases against higher porosity *** surface drag force enhances for enhancement in the Marangoni *** rate of mass transmission is higher for reaction rate constraint but diminishes for activation energy *** higher radiative values augment the rate of heat transmission.

The Quaternary volcanic province of Payenia is located in southern Mendoza and northern Neuquén provinces of Argentina and is characterized by a dominant basaltic composition. The volcanic province covers an area larger than 40,000 km2 and its origin and evolution has been the center of several *** this study we analyzed gravity data together with more accurate volcanic volumes calculations in order to investigate the subsurface structure of the Payenia volcanic province. The volume of material was calculated using digital elevation models and geographic information system（gIS） techniques to estimate the volume of material erupted and then, with those values, make an estimation of the intrusive material that could be located within the crust. The results of the calculations were compared with different 2D-sections constructed to model the gravity data and compare with the observed satellite gravity. After evaluating different models which have been generated to match both： the observed gravity data and the subsurface material calculated, we discuss those that best fit with observation. The results clearly indicate that the lithosphere is attenuated below the region.

Introduction:Combining in-situ data from single-point time series with remotely sensed spatial data allowed a greater elucidation of changes in chlorophyll-a concentrations through wet season conditions in the great Barrier Reef coastal ***:Single-point time-series data were collected from 2006 to 2012 during high river flow conditions to assess changes in phytoplankton biomass(measured as chlorophyll-a).Additionally,three flood plume water types,derived from classified true-colour Aqua moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer(MODIS)images,were used to group single-point time-series data for the phytoplankton biomass ***:Survey data illustrate the heterogeneity of chlorophyll-a distribution over seasonal and inter-annual cycles and the difficulty in describing community responses through the wet *** spatial data demonstrate distinct regional differences throughout the great Barrier *** high chlorophyll-a concentrations measured in flood plume waters immediately adjacent to the inshore,highly turbid‘inner’flood plume are a product of sufficient light,given most of the suspended solids have settled from the plume,and the availability of sufficient nutrients,which drive higher phytoplankton production and characterise the formation of secondary stage flood *** formation and extent of these secondary flood plumes were mapped using MODIS true-colour satellite *** distance and the location of the secondary plume water are reliant on flow,coastal hydrodynamics,and biological ***:The combination of in-situ data and remotely sensed data provides information on the complexity of these coastal processes during the wet season and offers managers a more comprehensive understanding of the extent of nutrient enrichment in the great Barrier Reef coastal area and the potential influence of flood plumes on coastal marine ecosystems.

At the start of our new Journal of Biosafety, I was prompted by my Co-editors-in-Chief, Professor Wan and Professor You, to provide regular reviews or updates on biosafety for our readers, given that I mostly reside outside China, and have many international connections. That is a very big task, and I was not sure that I could do it as the journal demands. However, I had thought that in a lighter way, I could attempt to present my thoughts on some issues that I feel are of importance today. China is very quickly opening to the world, economically, scientifically, and in many other fields, and for many colleagues inside and outside China, this is a new situation. During my career, I have worked in several countries of Europe, in New Zealand, and had projects on other continents. This gave me experiences in different parts of our globe, and I feel that all of us, ecologists, have to start thinking more widely, and be aware of developments, especially of human impacts, on faraway places. So my view when writing these essays will try to be both local and global. Therefore I have chosen the overall title for this series of essays 'Thoughts of a travelling ecologist'. Below you will be able to read the first one-I hope you will enjoy them. If you feel like to add, or comment on my essays, please feel free to do so. Any feedback will be most welcome.

Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)—CRISPR-associated protein(Cas)and base editors are fundamental tools in plant genome ***9 from Streptococcus pyogenes(SpCas9),recognizing an Ngg protospacer adjacent motif(PAM),is a widely used nuclease for genome editing in living ***12a nucleases,targeting T-rich PAMs,have also been recently demonstrated in several plant ***,multiple Cas9 and Cas12a engineered variants and orthologs,with different PAM recognition sites,editing efficiencies and fidelity,have been explored in *** RNA-guided sequence-specific nucleases(SSN)generate double-stranded breaks(DSBs)in DNA,which trigger non-homologous end-joining(NHEJ)repair or homology-directed repair(HDR),resulting in insertion and deletion(indel)mutations or precise gene replacement,***,genome editing can be achieved by base editors without introducing *** far,several base editors have been applied in plants to introduce C-to-T or A-to-g transitions,but they are still undergoing improvement in editing window size,targeting scope,off-target effects in DNA and RNA,product purity and overall ***,we summarize recent progress on the application of Cas nucleases,engineered Cas variants and base editors in plants.
