Effect of Three-High Rotary Piercing Process on Microstructure,Texture and Mechanical Properties of Magnesium Alloy Seamless Tube

Mitigating set-stuck failure in 3d phase change memory: substituting square pulses with surge pulses

In the devices that integrate phase change memory(PCM) and ovonic threshold switching(OTS),the OTS threshold voltage often surpasses the RESET operation voltage of PCM. The conventional application of square pulses hinders the successful completion of the SET operation in these integrated devices. To address this challenge, a novel pulse called the surge pulse is introduced, which comprises a high amplitude pulse for OTS activation and a low amplitude pulse for PCM operation. By employing COMSOL simulation,the operational effectiveness of both square pulses and surge pulses is validated. Test results reveal that using a square pulse to operate the integrated device accelerates the occurrence of SET-stuck failure(SSF).In contrast, the surge pulse enables the integrated device to operate for at least 1000 cycles while preserving the essential cyclic characteristics. Additionally, an investigation into the overshoot component of the surge pulse is conducted, revealing that an increase in overshoot amplitude and pulse width also accelerates the emergence of SSF. By applying the theory of ion migration induced by the electric field, the root cause of SSF in integrated devices is explained, and the accuracy of the theory is validated through the application of a reverse pulse. In summary, this study elucidates the rationality of replacing the square pulse with a surge pulse, presenting a superior approach for operating PCM and OTS integrated devices.

Ultrathin two-dimensional medium-entropy oxide as a highly efficient and stable electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction

Medium-entropy oxides(MEOs)with broad compositional tunability and entropy-driven structural stability,are receiving booming attention as a promising candidate for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)***,ultrathin two-dimensional(2d)nanostructure offers extremely large specific surface area and is therefore considered to be an ideal catalyst ***,it remains a grant challenge to synthesize ultrathin 2d MEOs due to distinct nucleation and growth kinetics of constituent multimetallic elements in 2d anisotropic *** this work,an ultrathin 2d MEO(MnFeCoNi)O was successfully synthesized by a facile and low-temperature ionic layer epitaxy *** from multi-metal synergistic effects within ultrathin 2d nanostructure,this 2d MEO(MnFeCoNi)O revealed excellent OER electrocatalytic performance with a quite low overpotential of 117 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2) and an impressive stability for 120 h continuous operation with only 6.9%***,the extremely high mass activity(5584.3 A·g^(-1))was three orders of magnitude higher than benchmark RuO_(2)(3.4 A·g^(-1))at the same overpotential of 117 *** work opens up a new avenue for developing highly efficient and stable electrocatalysts by creating 2d nanostructured MEOs.

Surface iodine and pyrenyl-graphdiyne co-modified Bi catalysts for highly efficient CO_(2) electroreduction in acidic electrolyte

CO_(2) electroreduction to formic acid/formate would contribute to alleviating the energy and climate *** work reports a Bi-based catalyst derived from the in-situ electroreduction of Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3) modified with iodine and pyrenyl-graphdiyne(PgdY)on the surface for efficient electroreduction of CO_(2) in acidic electrolyte,with a high partial current density of 98.71 mA·cm^(-2) and high Faradaic efficiency(FE)>90%over the potential range from^(-1).2 to-1.5 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE),as well as the long-term operational stability over 240 h without degradation in H-type *** results and density function theory calculations show that the synergistic effect of surface iodine and PgdY is responsible for this active and extremely stable process of CO_(2) electroreduction via lowering the energy barriers for formation of*OCHO intermediate,suppressing the competitive HER by enhancing the concentration of both K+and CO_(2) at reaction interface,as well as preventing the dissolution and re-deposition of active Bi atoms on surface during catalytic *** work provides new insight into designing highly active and stable electrocatalysts for CO_(2) reduction.

Exploring the Interplay between Local Chain Structure and Stress distribution in Polymer Networks

The mechanical behavior of polymer networks is intrinsically correlated with the local chain topology and chain *** this study,we delve into this relationship through the lens of coarse-grained molecular dynamics(Cg-Md)*** aim is to illuminate the intricate interplay between local topology and stress distribution within polymer monomers,cross-linkers,and various components with distinct cross-link connections,thereby elucidating their collective impact on the mechanical properties of polymer *** mainly focus on how specific local structures contribute to the overall mechanical response of the *** particular,we employ local stress analysis to unravel the mechanics of these *** findings reveal the diverse responses of individual components,such as junctions,strands,cross-linkers between junctions,and dangling chain ends,when subjected to ***,we observe that these components exhibit varying.d.grees of deformation tolerance,underscoring the significance of their roles in determining the mechanical characteristics of the *** investigations highlight junctions as primary contributors to stress accumulation,and particles with higher local stress showing a stronger correlation between stress and Voronoi ***,our results indicate that both strands and cross-linkers between junctions exhibit heightened stress levels as strand lengths *** study enhances our understanding of the multifaceted factors governing the mechanical attributes of cross-linked polymer systems at the microstructural level.

Splenic infarction(SI)is a rare clinical phenomenon that occurs when the blood supply to the spleen is interrupted,resulting in tissue ischemia and necrosis[1].There are many causes of SI;in adult patients,cardioembolism,hematological malignancy,and infectious disease are the most common[2].Rheumatic diseases,especially systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)and granulomatosis with polyangitis,can also lead to SI[3];however,only a few cases have been *** are currently no statistically meaningful data on the etiology of SI in *** most patients with SI can recover after conservative treatment,a small number of patients develop complications,such as splenic abscess,splenic rupture,splenic hemorrhage,and hemoperitoneum,and may even undergo splenectomy in severe cases.

Free-standing silicon anodes with high proportion of active materials have aroused great attention;however,the mechanical stability and electrochemical performance are severely ***,to resolve the appeal issues,a free-standing anode with a"corrugated paper"shape on micro-scale and a topological crosslinking network on the submicron and nano-scale is ***,an integrated three-dimensional electrode structure is constructed based on robust carbon nanotubes network with firmly anchored SiNPs via forming interlocking *** which,the hierarchical interlocking structure is achieved by directional induction of the binder,which ensures well integration during cycling so that significantly enhances mechanical stability as well as electronic and ionic conductivity of *** from it,this anode exhibits outsta nding performance under harsh service conditions including high Si loading,ultrahigh areal capacity(33.2 mA h cm^(-2)),and high/low temperatures(-15-60℃),which significantly extends its practical ***,the optimization mechanism of this electrode is explored to verify the crack-healing and structure-integration maintaining along cycling via a unique self-stabilization ***,from both the fundamental and engineering views,this strategy offers a promising path to produce high-performance free-standing electrodes for flexible device applications especially facing volume effect challenges.

Chemoselective labeling-based spermatozoa glycan imaging reveals abnormal glycosylation in oligoasthenotspermia

Spermatogenesis, maturation, capacitation and fertilization are precisely regulated by glycosylation. However, the relationship between altered glycosylation patterns and the onset and development of reproductive disorders is unclear, mainly limited by the lack of in situ imaging techniques for spermatozoa glycosylation. We developed an efficient and highly specific spermatozoa glycan imaging technique based on the robust chemoselective labeling of sialic acid(Sia) and N-acetyl-d-galactosamine(gal/galNAc). We further proposed a “tandem glycan chemoselective labeling” strategy to achieve simultaneous imaging of two types of glycans on spermatozoa. We applied the developed method to the spermatozoa from oligozoospermic patients and diabetic mice and found that these spermatozoa showed higher levels of Sia and gal/gal NAc expression than the normal groups. Moreover, spermatozoa from diabetic mice showed a severe decrease in number, viability, and forward motility, suggesting that in vivo glucose metabolism disorders may lead to an elevated level of spermatozoa glycosylation and have a correlation with the development of oligoasthenotspermia. Our work provides a research tool to reveal the relationship between glycosylation modification and spermatozoa quality, and a promising clue for the development of glycan-based reproductive markers.
