Osteonecrosis(ON) is caused by inadequate blood supply leading to bone death, which results in the collapse of the architectural bony structure. Femoral head is the most common site involved in ON. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) is a commonly used imaging modality to detect early ON. When MRI is inconclusive, bone scan is helpful in detecting ON during early phase of the disease. As newer nuclear medicine equipment, like single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography(CT) and positron emission tomography/CT, are emerging in medical science, we review the role of these imaging modalities in ON of femoral head.

Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are the important precursors of the tropospheric ozone(O3)and secondary organic aerosols(SOA),both of which are known to harm human health and disrupt the earth’s climate *** this study,VOC emission factors,O3 and SOA formation potentials were estimated for two types of industrial boilers:coal-fired boilers(n=3)and oil-fired boilers(n=3).Results showed that EVOCs concentrations were more than nine times higher for oil-fire d boilers compared to those for coal-fired *** factors ofΣVOCs were found to be higher for oil-fired boilers(9.26-32.83 mg-VOC/kg)than for coal-fired boilers(1.57-4.13 mg-VOC/kg).Alkanes and aromatics were obtained as the most abundant groups in coal-fired boilers,while oxygenated organics and aromatics were the most contributing groups in oil-fired ***,n-hexane and o-ethyl toluene were the abundant VOC species in coal-fired boiler emissions,whereas toluene was the most abundant VOC species emitted from oil-fired boilers.O3 and SOA formation potentials were found 12 and 18 times,respectively,higher for oil-fired than for coal-fired *** OFP ranged from 3.99 to 11.39 mg-O3/kg for coal-fired *** oil-fired boilers,total OFP ranged from 36.16 to 131.93 mg-O3/***,total secondary organic aerosol potential(SOAP)ranged from 65.4 to 122.5 mg-SOA/kg and 779.9 to 2252.5 mg-SOA/kg for the coal-fired and oil-fired boilers,respectively.

Energy transfer in co-and tri-doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors

Single-doped（Ce3＋,Tb3＋）, co-doped（Ce3＋-Tb3＋, Ce3＋-Yb3＋, Tb3＋-Yb3＋） and tri-doped（Ce3＋-Tb3＋-Yb3＋） Y3Al5O12 phosphors were synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. The XRD, excitation and emission spectra and the fluorescence lifetime of the samples were measured. The energy transfer mechanism was also investigated. The results showed that the energy transfer efficiency from Tb3＋ to Ce3＋ was 51% and the energy transfer efficiency from Ce3＋ to Yb3＋ was 63.1%. Concomitantly, both were more efficient than that from Ce3＋ to Tb3＋（7%） and from Tb3＋ to Yb3＋（10.2%）. Also, the Yb3＋ ions received energy mainly from Ce3＋ ions in Ce3＋-Tb3＋-Yb3＋ tri-doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors. Among these materials, Ce3＋-Yb3＋ co-doped YAg phosphors are a better choice than others as a down-conversion material due to their higher energy transfer efficiency.

Objective:To evaluate the pharmacognostic characters of an important medicinal plant, Holoptelcu integrifolia(***) ***:The pharmacognostic studies were carried out in terms of organoleptic,microscopic,macroscopic and fluorescence ***: The characteristic microscopic features of leaves were observed as trichomes,multicellular trichomes,xylem cells,phloem cells,collenchyma,vascular bundles,spongy parenchyma and palisade *** characteristic microscopic features of root bark included cork cambium, primary cortex,phloem fibers,medullary rays,endodermis,pericycle and lignified fibers in the transverse section and longitudinal *** characteristic microscopy of root bark powder showed the presence of cortex cells,sieve tubes,calcium oxalate crystals and lignified fibers. Macroscopic study showed that leaf shape-oval,apex-acute,base-cordate and leaf margin was entire with glabrous surface,bitter taste and characteristic *** morphological features of root bark showed deep fissured,rough and firm surface with rhitydome and the periderm parallel to ***:Various pharmacognostic characters observed in this study help in the identification and standardization of ***.

Alzheimer’s disease is a complex neurodegenerative ailment accompanied by cognitive problems and progressive memory *** main causes of the disease are indistinguishable even though aging is said to be the key risk factor,along with the hypotheses such asβ-amyloid plaques,tau-proteins,neuroinflammation,and oxidative ***,Alzheimer’s disease is not curable,and the available medicines are only used to provide symptom *** and researchers have developed numerous models to study Alzheimer’s disease,such as in silico methods,in vitro models of cultured rat cortical neurons,in vivo rodent models involving mice and rats,and non-rodent models as *** review provides an insight into the modality of Alzheimer’s disease treatment using medicinal plants that are natural sources with abundant bioactive substances,and traditional formulations such as an extract from Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma,Chinese herbal formulations(i.e.,traditional Chinese medicine kidney-nourishing formula,supplements such as coenzyme Q10,alpha-lipoic acid,ginkgo Biloba,omega-3’s,and acetyl-L-carnitine).In addition,we have discussed the evaluation parameters for experimental Alzheimer’s disease,which are used to assess the mechanism of memory and pharmacological effects of molecules for drug discovery and *** common experimental analysis methods for Alzheimer’s disease include behavioral,biochemical,and histological *** work will allow researchers to access an informative reference of traditional medicines along with experimental analysis methods in one place for Alzheimer’s disease research.

Telemedicine plays an important role in Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19).The virtual surgery simulation system,as a key component in telemedicine,requires to compute in ***,this paper proposes a realtime cutting model based on finite element and order reduction method,which improves the computational speed and ensure the real-time *** proposed model uses the finite element model to construct a deformation model of the virtual ***,a model order reduction method combining proper orthogonal decomposition and galerkin projection is employed to reduce the amount of deformation *** addition,the cutting path is formed according to the collision intersection position of the surgical instrument and the lesion area of the virtual ***,the Bezier curve is adopted to draw the incision outline after the virtual lung has been ***,the simulation system is set up on the PHANTOM OMNI force haptic feedback device to realize the cutting simulation of the virtual *** results show that the proposed model can enhance the real-time performance of telemedicine,reduce the complexity of the cutting simulation and make the incision smoother and more natural.
