A simple and practical method for the synthesis of N-substituted-2-aminobenzothiazoles via a crosscoupling reaction of 2-iodo anilines with isothiocyanates is envisaged using nano copper oxide as a recyclable catalyst and Cs2CO3as a base in PEg-400,as a bio-degradable,reusable,inexpensive and nontoxic reaction medium,under ligand-free *** present tandem process underlines environmental acceptability to access a wide range of N-substituted-2-aminobenzothiazoles in good to excellent yields.

The Kohima Syncline exposes the Eocene Upper Disang Formation in an extensive region that is composed of grey shales with subordinate sandstone and siltstone *** shales contain low to fair amount of organic matters represented by Type IV/Type III terrestrial *** Biomarkers indicate presence of terrestrial angiosperms and microbially reworked organic matters with some marine ***-Eval maturity parameters indicate maturity within a wide range between immature to post mature wet gas window,while the biomarkers show maturity between immature to mid *** biomarkers indicate that the Disang shales deposited in an oxic deltaic-terrigenous *** trace elements characterize an oxic to suboxic warm and humid depositional *** trace elements point to deposition in a low salinity continental rather than a marine ***,several biomarker and trace element parameters show that a continental milieu was already established during the deposition of the Upper Disang *** indicates that either the Disang basin,that evolved as a marine basin,suffered rapid shallowing during the deposition of the Upper Disang sediments,or the Lower and Upper Disangs were coeval and Lower Disangs represented deep marine facies while the Upper Disangs represented peripheral shallow marine deltaic *** parameters like Tmax and,sterane and hopane isomerization ratios indicate that the organic matters of the Disang group were affected by sudden short duration thermal events followed by *** is possible in an active tectonic region like the Kohima Syncline that bears many evidences of thrusting and folding.

Y chromosome microdeletions in azoospermic patients with Klinefelter's syndrome

Aim： To study the occurrence of Y chromosome microdeletions in azoospermic patients with Klinefelter＇s syndrome （KFS）. Methods： Blood and semen samples were collected from azoospermic patients with KFS （n = 14） and a control group of men of proven fertility （n = 13）. Semen analysis was done according to World Health Organization （WHO） guidelines. Blood samples were processed for karyotyping, fluorescent in situ hybridization （FISH） and measurement of plasma follicle stimulating hormone （FSH） by radioimmunoassay. To determine Y chromosome microdeletions, polymerase chain reaction （PCR） of 16 sequence tagged sites （STS） and three genes （DFFRY, XKRY and RBM1 Y） was performed on isolated genomic DNA. Testicular fine needle aspiration cytology （FNAC） was done in selected cases. Results： Y chromosome microdeletions spanning the azoospermia factor （AZF）a and AZFb loci were found in four of the 14 azoospermic patients with KFS. Karyotype and FISH analysis revealed that, of the four cases showing Y chromosome microdeletion, three cases had a 47,XXY/46,XY chromosomal pattern and one case had a 46,XY/47,XXY/48,XXXY/48,XXYY chromosomal pattern. The testicular FNAC of one sample with Y chromosome microdeletion revealed Sertoli cell-only type of morphology. However, no Y chromosome microdeletions were observed in any of the 13 fertile men. All patients with KFS had elevated plasma FSH levels. Conclusion： Patients with KFS may harbor Y chromosome microdeletions and screening for these should be a part of their diagnostic work-up, particularly in those considering assisted reproductive techniques. （Asian JAndrol 2006 Jan; 8： 81-88）

Vehicular Adhoc Networks(VANETs)enable vehicles to act as mobile nodes that can fetch,share,and disseminate information about vehicle safety,emergency events,warning messages,and passenger ***,the continuous dissemination of information fromvehicles and their one-hop neighbor nodes,Road Side Units(RSUs),and VANET infrastructures can lead to performance degradation of VANETs in the existing hostcentric IP-based ***,Information Centric Networks(ICN)are being explored as an alternative architecture for vehicular communication to achieve robust content distribution in highly mobile,dynamic,and errorprone *** ICN-based Vehicular-IoT networks,consumer mobility is implicitly supported,but producer mobility may result in redundant data transmission and caching inefficiency at intermediate vehicular *** paper proposes an efficient redundant transmission control algorithm based on network coding to reduce data redundancy and accelerate the efficiency of information *** proposed protocol,called Network Cording Multiple Solutions Scheduling(NCMSS),is receiver-driven collaborative scheduling between requesters and information sources that uses a global parameter expectation deadline to effectively manage the transmission of encoded data packets and control the selection of information *** results for the proposed NCMSS protocol is demonstrated to analyze the performance of ICN-vehicular-IoT networks in terms of caching,data retrieval delay,and end-to-end application *** end-to-end throughput in proposed NCMSS is 22%higher(for 1024 byte data)than existing solutions whereas delay in NCMSS is reduced by 5%in comparison with existing solutions.

The crystal structures of three intramolecularly hydrogen bonded rigid aromatic amide derivatives,which all bear one iodine atom at one end as the donor and one pyridine unit at the other end as the acceptor,have been described to reveal the utility of halogen bonding in inducing the formation of supramolecular *** the three compounds formed intermolecular I···N halogen *** short compound 1,halogen bonding induced the formation of an extended supramolecular *** longer folded compounds 2 and 3,halogen bonding could hold two molecules to form supramolecular macrocycles even by adopting a highly distorted,energetically less favorable conformation(for 3).Depending on the solvent for the growth of crystals,compound 3 could also gave rise to a halogen bonded supramolecular double helix.

Magnetic Flux Alignment Studies on Entrapped Ferrofuid Nanoparticles in Poly Vinyl Alcohol Matrix

Highly surface active super paramagnetic colloidal suspensions of nano crystalline ferrofluid have been synthesized through wet-chemical route. Entrapment of magnetic domains presented in the nano ferrofluid in a polymer matrix like poly vinyl alcohol film was accomplished by developing polymer composite film in between two magnetic poles by solvent casting method. Similarly poly vinyl alcohol-ferrofluid composite films were also developed in the absence of magnetic field. Atomic force microscopy image of nano-composite film makes it clear that the film developed in the absence of magnetic field possesses randomly oriented domains, whereas film developed with magnetic field shows well aligned flux lines. The characteristics and nature of forces acting between magnetic domains along the magnetic flux lines were explored from magnetic force microscopy imaging. The number of flux lines developed in the polymer matrix was observed to be directly proportional to applied external magnetic field. Approximate number of magnetic lines passing through unit area of composite film was evaluated from line profile data analysis of atomic force microscopy image. The particle sizes of the nanoparticles encapsulated in the polymer matrix were found to be in the range of 10- 20 nm. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs confirm aggregation of ferrofluid particles of ribbon like morphology along the magnetic flux lines. Magnetic properties of the entrapped nanoparticles in polymer matrix film were analyzed using vibrating sample magnetometer at room temperature. The super paramagnetic nature and other magnetic properties were evaluated from the hysteresis loop.

The present work intends to investigate dynamic behaviour of draft gear using finite element method. The longitudinal force that the draft gear absorbs usually leads to the failure of its components, especially, the load bearing draft pads. Dynamic behaviour of an individual draft pad and a draft gear is determined and characterized with exciting frequen- cies and corresponding mode shapes. The effect of compressive prestress load on the dynamic behaviour of an individual draft pad is also determined as the draft pads in assembled state are under constant axial compressive force in the draft gear. The vibration characteristics of individual draft pad are compared with draft pads that are part of draft gear. The modal analysis gives us a basis for subjecting a draft pad to higher frequency loading for determining its fatigue behaviour.
