Deep learning to estimate ocean subsurface salinity structure in the Indian Ocean using satellite observations

Accurately estimating the ocean subsurface salinity structure(OSSS)is crucial for understanding ocean dynamics and predicting climate *** present a convolutional neural network(CNN)model to estimate the OSSS in the Indian Ocean using satellite data and Argo *** evaluated the performance of the CNN model in terms of its vertical and spatial distribution,as well as seasonal variation of OSSS *** demonstrate that the CNN model accurately estimates the most significant salinity features in the Indian Ocean using sea surface data with no significant differences from Argo-derived ***,the estimation accuracy of the CNN model varies with depth,with the most challenging depth being approximately 70 m,corresponding to the halocline *** of the CNN model’s accuracy in estimating OSSS in the Indian Ocean are also conducted by comparing Argo observations and CNN model estimations along two selected sections and four selected *** results show that the CNN model effectively captures the seasonal variability of salinity,demonstrating its high performance in salinity estimation using sea surface *** analysis reveals that sea surface salinity has the strongest correlation with OSSS in shallow layers,while sea surface height anomaly plays a more significant role in deeper *** preliminary results provide valuable insights into the feasibility of estimating OSSS using satellite observations and have implications for studying upper ocean dynamics using.m.chine learning techniques.

NbB_(2)modified Al-Cu Alloys Fabricated by Freeze-Ablation Casting under High Cooling Rate Solidification

At present,improving the properties of aluminum alloys is generally achieved by increasing the cooling rate of the melt and adding.m.cro-nano *** the cooling rate of the melt to improve the refining effect of grain refiner is still a difficult problem in the aluminum alloy casting *** innovative and environmentally friendly casting process,known as freeze ablation,was introduced during the preparation of an Al–NbB_(2) intermediate *** process significantly enhanced the cooling rate of the *** results indicated that the Al–NbB_(2) intermediate alloy produced under high cooling rates had a noticeable refining effect on Al–Cu alloys,with smaller NbB2 particles demonstrating superior refining *** average grain size of the refined Al–Cu alloy decreased from 154 to 69μm,the tensile strength increased by 12%,the fluidity increased by 18.4%,and the hot tearing index decreased from 144 to *** matching degree between NbB_(2) andα-Al was calculated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and the edge-to-edge *** was found that the atomic interplanar spacing and the interatomic spacing.m.smatch between NbB_(2)’splane and Al were both less than 10%,which further proved that NbB2 could serve as an effective nucleation site forα-Al grains to achieve grain refinement.

AP assembled on ultrafine aluminum particle and its application to NEPE propellant

Coating.m.dification is an important way to enhance the reactivity of aluminum *** this paper,ammonium perchlorate and aluminum powder were assembled into energetic microunits by liquid deposition *** particles with AP as shell and ultrafine aluminum powder as the core(Al@AP)were *** micromorphology results show that the coated particles are about 5μm,and the coating layer is evenly distributed on the outer surface of aluminum powder,indicating a complete *** energetic microunits were implanted into the nitrate ester plasticizing adhesive system(NEPE)as solid phase *** effect of filler on the rheological properties,safety,mechanical properties,thermal reaction and energy properties of the system was analyzed by comparing with the raw aluminum *** test results show that the rheological properties,mechanical properties and pressure index of NEPE containing system Al@AP meets the requirements of solid propellant *** with Al based propellant,the mechanical sensitivity and thermal sensitivity are decreased,the safety is better,and the explosion heat of the propellant is increased by 7.8%.The engine test shows that the specific impulse is increased by 1.2 ***@AP can improve the energy output and safety of NEPE propellant,and has potential application prospects in high-energy propellants.

Water vapor nucleation on particle's surface plays an important role in dust removal,cloud formation,and particle ***,the selectivity of nucleation sites and the nucleation characteristic of water molecule on the particle's surface are still unclear,especially for the aggregated *** this paper,the effects of particle wettability and aggregation modes on the selectivity of nucleation sites and the nucleation characteristics were investigated using.m.lecular dynamics *** results were compared with our earlier experimental *** illustrates how the contact angle of clusters,the growth velocity,and the growth duration are all influenced by the interaction coefficient between water and ***,the nucleation sites of water molecules on the particle aggregation surface exhibit a definite *** primary indicator of this selectivity is the preferential nucleation of water molecules at the interfaces of linear chain aggregation particles,at the inner side of non-linear chain aggregation particles,and at the centers of ring *** results are in good agreement with our previous experimental *** significantly,additional research has revealed that subcritical-size clusters typically aggregate on two-particle surfaces spacing when the spacing smaller than the critical cluster size.

NiCoZn/C@melamine sponge-derived carbon composites with highperformance electromagnetic wave absorption

NimZn/C@melamine sponge-derived carbon(mSDC)composites(m=Co,Fe,and mn)were prepared by a vacuum pump-ing solution method followed by carbonization.A large number of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)homogeneously attached to the surfaces of the three-dimensional cross-linked of the sponge-derived carbon in the NiCoZn/C@mSDC composite,and CNTs were detected in the NiFeZn/C@mSDC and NimnZn/C@mSDC ***_(3)ZnC_(0.7),Ni_(3)Fe,and mnO in-situ formed in the NiFeZn/C@mSDC and NimnZn/C@mSDC *** CNTs in the NiCoZn/C@mSDC composite efficiently modulated its complex ***,the composite exhibited the best performance among the composites,with the minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of-33.1 dB at 18 gHz and thickness of 1.4 *** bandwidth for RL of≤-10 dB was up to 5.04 gHz at the thickness of 1.7 mm and loading of 25wt%.The op-timized impedance matching,enhanced interfacial and dipole polarization,remarkable conduction loss,and multiple reflections and scat-tering of the incident microwaves improved the microwave absorption *** effects of Co,Ni,and Fe on the phase and mor-phology provided an alternative way for developing highly efficient and broadband microwave absorbers.

Pore-pressure and stress-coupled creep behavior in deep coal:Insights from real-time NmR analysis

Understanding the variations in microscopic pore-fracture structures(mPFS) during coal creep under pore pressure and stress coupling is crucial for coal mining and effective gas treatment. In this manuscript, a triaxial creep test on deep coal at various pore pressures using a test system that combines in-situ mechanical loading with real-time nuclear magnetic resonance(NmR) detection was ***-scale quantitative characterization, online real-time detection, and visualization of mPFS during coal creep influenced by pore pressure and stress coupling were performed using NmR and NmR imaging(NmRI) techniques. The results revealed that seepage pores and microfractures(SPm) undergo the most significant changes during coal creep, with creep failure gradually expanding from dense primary pore fractures. Pore pressure presence promotes mPFS development primarily by inhibiting SPm compression and encouraging adsorption pores(AP) to evolve into SPm. Coal enters the accelerated creep stage earlier at lower stress levels, resulting in more pronounced creep deformation. The connection between the micro and macro values was established, demonstrating that increased porosity at different pore pressures leads to a negative exponential decay of the viscosity coefficient. The Newton dashpot in the ideal viscoplastic body and the Burgers model was improved using NmR experimental results, and a creep model that considers pore pressure and stress coupling using variable-order fractional operators was developed. The model’s reasonableness was confirmed using creep experimental data. The damagestate adjustment factors ω and β were identified through a parameter sensitivity analysis to characterize the effect of pore pressure and stress coupling on the creep damage characteristics(size and degree of difficulty) of coal.

Factors hindering the degradation of pharmaceuticals from human urine in an iron-activated persulfate system

This study investigated the degradation of clofibric acid(CFA),bezafibrate(BZF),and sulfamethoxazole(SmX)in synthetic human urine using a novel mesoporous iron powderactivated persulfate system(mFe-PS system),and identified the factors limiting their degradation in synthetic human urine.A kinetic model was established to expose the radical production in various reaction conditions,and experiments were conducted to verify the modeling *** the phosphate-containing.m.e-PS system,the 120 min removal efficiency of CFA decreased from 95.1%to 76.6%as the phosphate concentration increased from 0.32 to 6.45 mmol/L,but recovered to 90.5%when phosphate concentration increased to 16.10 mmol/***,the increased concentration of phosphate from 0.32 to 16.10mmol/L reduced the BZF degradation efficacy from 91.5%to 79.0%,whereas SmX removal improved from 37.3%to 62.9%.The m Fe-PS system containing(bi)carbonate,from 4.20 to166.70 mmol/L,reduced CFA and BZF removal efficiencies from 100%to 76.8%and 80.4%,respectively,and SmX from 83.5%to 56.7%within a 120-min reaction *** addition,alkaline conditions(pH≥8.0)inhibited CFA and BZF degradations,while nonacidic pH(pH≥7.0)remarkably inhibited SmX *** of the kinetic model indicated the formation of phosphate(H_(2)PO_(4)^(·)/HPO_(4)^(·-))and/or carbonate radicals(CO_(3)^(·-))could limit pharmaceutical *** transformation products(TPs)of the pharmaceuticals revealed more incompletely oxidized TPs occurred in the phosphate-and(bi)carbonate-containing.m.Fe-PS systems,and indicated that H_(2)PO_(4)^(·)/HPO_(4)^(·-)mainly degraded pharmaceuticals via a benzene ring-opening reaction while CO_(3)^(·-)preferentially oxidized pharmaceuticals via a hydroxylation reaction.
